Although I knew the premise of this book, I was still disappointed with how immature the characters felt. I dislike when I'm reading a book and I want to strangle the characters through the book. It makes me want to DNF but I ventured on. It was still cute and romantic, their attitudes just felt somewhat YA. I also did not enjoy the rushed ending.

I wish I hadn't taken so long to read this one but when I saw the author was coming out with her new book soon, I knew I had to bump it up. And what a delight of a book it was! I found myself grinning throughout as I listened to the hysterics of Gracie maneuvering her way through penning her own novel, whilst emailing her old high school crush Colin. There were so many laugh out loud moments in this book. It was such a refreshing read, after all the thrillers I have been reading of late. I can't wait to read the author's new book which comes out in a few months!

A rom-com that some might enjoy.

When Gracie Landing was in high school, she had a huge crush on her classmate, Colin Yarmouth who gave her nickname, Elvis, which stayed with her through the school years.

Years later, Gracie is a romance novel writer but she is suffering from writer's block and can't seem to finish her next novel after her fiancée left her for their impregnated wedding planner. A late night with her girlfriends and after having too much to drink, she contacts Connor via email which she doesn't remember doing until the next morning.

Connor, an estate attorney, is shocked to receive an email from Gracie. He remembers her from high school. Lately, his life has not been the greatest. He is recently divorced and this has impacted his life in more ways than one.

After exchanging multiple emails with Gracie, Connor feels happier than he has been in a while. When he learns she is an author, he offers to read her latest manuscript. Later on, he spills the beans about his failed marriage and encourages Gracie to use it in her book.

What starts as emails, leads to phone calls, which turn into in-person meetings and dates. The pair seem very happy with each other until an unlikely development.

I had fun reading this one. Both of the characters were entertaining and having both POVs helped with their romance growth. However, I did feel that both, and especially Gracie acted immature for their age group which created unnecessary drama.

This was such a fun read, with a twist I did not see coming (but probably should have). There was such good banter in the book and I liked the fully fleshed out external relationships.

I really, really wanted to like this book and give it a chance, but the story was an entire chaos and the characters were quite immature.

My first book by the author. It was a mixed bag, honestly. I was okay until the black moment where everything falls apart. Seemed to me like an opportunity for the two MCs to communicate and resolve things together. The writing was good though.

This book missed the mark for me, though the premise is a lot of fun. Gracie Landing is a romance writer on the heels of the end of her engagement with nothing positive on the horizon. In a drunken stupor she emails her high school crush. She doesn't expect him to reply, but he does and so begins their email-real life exchange. It was funny and cute, but a lot of scenes that just didn't seem necessary.

Unfortunately, this was a DNF for me. I liked the concept but there was some aspects of it that felt over-exaggerated, which made it difficult to get into the characters.

If you’d like to read a book about two adult characters written as stereotypical teenagers, this book is the one for you. I tried really hard to like it and give it a chance, but Colin’s POV felt like the author had never actually spoken to a man before in her life, or maybe I’m just lucky and have only spoken to men with at least most of their brain cells?

This book had so much potential. I wanted more. The ending was so rushed I felt unsure that it was really the end. It definitely needed more time to unfold. Aside from the ending, the story was sort of cute. I guess this story just wasn’t for me.

This had a cute beginning but I quickly got bored with it - if you think that you would like it feel free to try it. There was a lot of "high school' drama that impacted the adult lives of the main characters and it felt very petty and it was not the most fun to read.

I am so sorry to say this but I absolutely could not get through this one. I just thought everyone was so immature, joking about inappropriate topics, dude bros and describing scenes of pooping and farting are just not for me. Thanks for the opportunity to try it out.

This book was cute. Not a showstopper for me, but not bad either. Grace and Colin had a decent amount of believable chemistry. There was a bit of a plot twist, which I'm sure others will see coming, but was fun for me. I liked that the majority of the side characters were well-developed as well, though there was an obvious lack of depth to Colin's ex. Grace managed to be the classic goofy, clumsy, quirky rom-com heroine without it being too over the top.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Grace and Colin. They knew each other in high school. Grace had a crush on Colin but he didn’t know it. Several years later Grace gets drunk and emails Colin. They start emailing and talking on the phone. They start dating. They each have trust issues but together they work them out and fall in love.

This book was super cute, but it felt like it was missing tension. The storyline was not overly complicated and the characters didn’t go through the growth that I like to see in books. I did like the book, but it wasn’t memorable or top 10 for me.

The book's blurb appealed to me, but the dual perspectives of Grace and Colin were not enjoyable. To enjoy a dual perspective, the story should unfold around the reader, not narrated at them. The female lead's self-sharpness, which felt immature and irrelevant, left me scratching my head. I found the characters' motivations and endearing qualities uninteresting. I only made it 25% in, and I'm not sure I'll revisit it on my TBR list. I've just read too many great books at this point.

This book was a DNF for me. It was bland and I wasn't into the story or characters.

I really wanted to like it but I just could not get myself to pick it up.

The premise is cute, but I think the trope of a female writer with writer's block and the male helping her overcome it is very overdone. I can't count how many have come out this year alone. The characters felt juvenile and there's parts of the books that are just odd. The lead character defecating herself? No thanks.

In this case Grace and Colin are finding together and it is very funny to read what happend to them.
Grace needs inspiration for her new book and Colin has a story to tell.

Great reading, funny but also emotional.
