This was my first time reading a book from TM Logan and I have to say, I was completely hooked. It was so twisty, full of action and the kind of storyline where you just want to play along and help the characters solve the case. This worked especially well here as the main characters were all amateurs, helping Heather to try and clear her name. These were the parts of the story I enjoyed the most - finding clues, following the trail and gradually piecing more and more information together. There were several points throughout the story which were so frustrating that you really wanted to shout at the characters or throw the book across the room, but this just added to the fun.

On a completely random point, I lived in Bath for many years and really loved spotting all of the familiar streets and place names. It gave me a totally different reading experience, making the story just that little bit more real.

I will definitely be working my way through all of TM Logan's backlist now and I'm thrilled to have found another fantastic crime writer to add to my list.

This is another action-packed thriller from T.M. Logan that I couldn’t put down. The story follows the main character Heather as she battles to clear her name of her husband’s murder. This drew me in straight away as I love seeing the story unravel, and trying to figure out the twist that you know will be coming.
The characters are well written, you will become suspicious of everyone and unable to trust any of them. But they take you on a fantastic ride of distrust, intrigue and a hell of a lot of suspense. I devoured this book in 2 days and just didn’t want to put it down. Alongside the action, there is quite an emotional story intertwined as you follow Heather as she tries to get her children back as well as dealing with life as an ex-con.
It’s a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat, make you think just one more chapter, and having you racing along with Heather to figure out the mystery,

Fast paced thriller with many layers. Great main character wrongly imprisoned for killing her husband. A good read.

TM Logan never disappoints. All of his books have been some of my favourites and this one is no exception.

Heather was convicted of killing her husband and has just been released from prison. However, Heather is innocent and she is now on a mission to clear her name and get her two sons back.

If you are after a fast paced thriller with brilliant characters and suspense a plenty then you have definitely picked the right book. The first couple of pages will draw you in and this is one book you will not want to put down.

Heather is released from prison after serving 10 for being convicted of killing her husband. Heather is innocent and wants to clear her name. And more importantly, gain access to her two sons. Heathers seeks the help of her sister in law and a journalist to help clear her name and discover the identity of the true killer.
Of course, there are plenty of twists and layers to this storyline that build up to an epic finale. Heather learns that you should be careful who you trust. A fast paced page turner recommended to any T.M. Logan fan and any reader of thrillers.

Wow! Just wow! TM Logan is such a master of this genre!

The Mother is incredibly twisty, emotional, gripping, and dark. I absolutely loved it!

The characters are really in-depth, the plot is very tense, and the shorter chapters made this.um-put-downable!

Awesome thriller
A woman attends a funeral, standing in the shadows and watching in agony as her sons grieve. But she is unable to comfort them - or reveal her secret.
A decade earlier, Heather gets her children ready for bed and awaits the return of her husband Liam, little realising that this is the last night they will spend together as a family. Because tomorrow she will be accused of Liam's murder.
Ten years ago Heather lost everything. Now she will stop at nothing to clear her name - and to get her children back
Enjoyed it a lot. Read it.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bonnier Books Zaffre for giving me an advance copy.

This book took a while to get going but once it was in full swing it was a complex tale of devious doings and serious set ups. It does focus on a mothers love for her children, which felt very realist and raw. It was a good plot, with enough twists and turns to keep the reader guessing.

I have a confession to make.. I haven’t read any TM Logan books before despite meeting Tim at Harrogate and arranging all his blogtours for him through his publisher.

The Mother is my first venture into the mind of TM Logan and is available to purchase now. In case you didn’t know, TM Logan has written 7 books in total, been a Richard & Judy book club choice and had two of his books turned into Netflix and CH5 dramas – The Holiday starring Jill Halfpenny and The Catch starring Jason Watkins.

So now we’ve familiarised ourselves with TM Logan’s incredible career, let’s look at The Mother in more detail. With an opening chapter of a women standing hidden in the shadows at the back of her own funeral, watching her two sons grieving you know you are in for a bumpy ride.

Heather was once a wife, a mother, a career woman and a respected member of the community. Nine years later having served time in prison for the murder of her husband, she’s out having lost everything and is desperate to prove her innocence and get her beloved boys back.

Thus begins her quest to clear her name and find her husband’s killer. Teaming up with a journalist they begin to delve deeper into her husband’s activitities as a politician but there are people out there who believe the past should remain in the past and will stop at NOTHING to make sure their secrets stay hidden.

This is a perfect airport read and I can see why so many readers love TM Logan’s books. They are quick and easy to read. They aren’t too taxing on the brain, the twists and turns keep the reader engaged throughout and overall the perfect read for thriller lovers.

Blurb…..

Framed for murder. Now she's free . . .

My thoughts….

I have read all of the novels by this author and this in my opinion is the best a slow paced fast thriller. Criminal and government web through the novel along with strong red herrings.
Heather searches for the truth who killed Liam as it was not her !
This was a good read with a great twist as the story concluded.
If you like this author or you have not read any by this author and you like a crime mystery this will be for you .

T.M. Logan has a terrifically good writing style that I love. In The Mother, the writing is top level, as always. The zippy pace is intoxicating, the plot is substantial and meaty and the twists are in plentiful supply. The finale is definitely not one that I anticipated. Very highly recommended.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Bonnier Books UK, Zaffre via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

WOW - utterly outstanding. This was not what I expected at all - it is dark, thrilling and utterly gripping.
I read it in one sitting. It is all of twists and turns. Outstanding!

A seriously chilling and terrifying story that reminds us of how powerless we can become in certain situations.
It's also a reminder that a mum will stop at nothing to fight for her children.

It was fast paced, mind bending and you never knew quite who to trust. It was an excellent thriller!
I lobed the feeling of truly being kn the outside using the class system to really divide.
I also adored how at no point did I know what was coming next!
Another fantastic read by T.M Logan.

A fast-paced thriller that you won't want to put down, and another gripping read that will have you guessing until the very end. Definitely one of my favourites from this great author.

I LOVED this! So much better than The Catch, which I thought was mediocre. This has everything you want in a thriller, suspense, shock, twists & turns, murder! Loved the main characters thought they were all so realistic and added something different to the narrative. Would highly recommend.

An enjoyable fast-paced read, however some parts were a little bit unbelievable. I enjoyed the different timeframes to learn more about the history.
