This is sharp, beautifully written and incredibly powerful. I have been completely pulled in from very early on in this one. It has definitely been a book that is bound to be a success.

A nice easy read.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.
The book contained themes I have experience with such as miscarriage and fertility issues. It allowed me to emotionally connect.
I learned things such a medical procedures and terminology which I really enjoyed.
I would have preferred a different or rather a more lengthy ending.

Overall a cute story and very enjoyable.

Natalie is a midwife who believes she cannot have her own baby, but a one night stand with Henry proves her wrong. Now Henry and Natalie must overcome the barriers that they have been building in order to get their own happy ever after.

The story was enjoyable and you really feel for the characters involved as they are really well written.

I'm not really a romance gal, but every now and then I'm in the mood for something sweet and heartwarming, and I do love a story with a medical backdrop.

The title kind of gives away most of the plot, but it was a pleasant easy read and the main characters, midwife Natalie - newly moved to New York - and Henry, the doctor she has an uncharacteristic one night stand with only to find they're working together (awkward!) - were likeable. Both are good people but have issues and scars (sometimes literal) from the past - can they leave that behind to make a life together?

I enjoyed the setting of the busy maternity ward and the various births which occur during the novel.

Many thanks for the opportunity to read and review!

It was a lovely story with a believable plot, and I enjoyed spending time with the main characters, Henry and Natalie. They were both characters that I warmed to and the author brought them very much alive on the page.

This was a feel good novel which I smiled my way through much of. It is not a spoiler to tell you that I had a lovely goose bumpy feeling by the end. This may have been my first, but it will not be the last book that I read from this publisher.

A proper, lovely and kind romance. Two medics meet, have a night together and then fight their attraction as the pregnancy bump grows. Both Henry and Nathalie have bruises from their past that they try and battle through, some touching medical scenes in a maternity ward and some great dialogue and support. Highly recommended read.

This was a really lovely story which left me with a happy smile on my face. Natalie, who’s escaping the bad memories of loss and betrayal in Montana is about to start working at a hospitals in New York. She and Henry,, a surgeon at said hospital , meet up, hook up and meet again totally shocked to discover their one night fling is someone they’ll have to work with. Add to that delightful premise, the unexpected pregnancy and we have a delicious, heartwarming story of love winning through in spite of all obstacles.

What I love about Louisa Heaton’s books is that the characters and the story are grownup - not childish or adolescent. LH respects her readers and knows they’ll understand human nature. People behave in the way they do because of previous experiences but if they’re adults, they talk and they are as honest as they can be in their encounters.

I did enjoy this very much and highly recommend it.

I’m a mills and boon fan through and through.
This was a short but thorough read.
If you like a medical mills and boon then you will be a fan. In my mind Henry was Henry Cavill and Natalie was Alex Kingston.
Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

An enjoyable feel good read. Natalie a midwife has escaped her past in rural Montana to try to heal her broken heart and come to terms with the fact that due to a terrible accident she may never be able to carry her own child. She has a new job in a busy NYC hospital and goes out on New Years Eve and has a one night stand.
Her one night stand only happens to be Dr Henry who as she she discovers the very next day works in the same dept. He too has his own demons. His daughter was still born and he is now divorced.
After their past experiences both individuals have deep reasons to guard their hearts. Will Natalie’s surprise twin pregnancy thaw Henry’s frozen heart or will Natalie take her broken heart back to Montana and bring the babies up alone?
An enjoyable read. Well written, characters are engaging, likeable and catch the reader’s attention. Nothing ground breaking but a comfortable easy read.

Another enjoyable medical romance from Louisa Heaton with the drama coming courtesy of life on a busy maternity ward. Lovely characters, a great story, set in one of my favourite cities and an all round easy engaging read.
