What another amazing book this was from this author. The disappearance of a mini bus of schoolchildren was plenty to get me interested and it did not disappoint. You are constantly drip fed another part to the story throughout the book to keep the tension going . The neighbours with their back stories added immensely to the story . This was definitely one to read and I would highly recommend to my followers. Definitely 5 stars from me

This read like a bad episode of Midsomer Murders. Quaint English town, mysterious crime, textbook cast of characters,secrets abound. Too many chapters with mini cliff hangers. Probably the worse police officers imaginable . They were always worried and made some really bad decisions.
The big secret did not seem all that explosive. The other secret was much worse and the people involved seemed to get away with it!

This is, hands down, my fav read in 23 so far. The Vanishing of Class 3B be J. Kabler, published by Harper Collins UK / One More Chapter is a page turner of its finest, a phenomenal read. Full of unexpected twists and turns the book had in suspense right from the start til the very unexpected end - an end that I so never saw coming.
The storyline is set in a village in the beautiful Cotwolds UK, includes elementary school children and adults that simply vanished. An hectic search for them brings secrets and more secrets to light. IMO the true hero is Reynold, a flawed hero that touched my heart.
A story that burrows deep, deep under the skin. Stays with the reader long after finishing the book.
I recommend the book, 5 stars.

I was really, really excited by the idea of this storyline. A group of kids goes in a field trip and doesn’t return? Count me in!

However, the way things unfolded didn’t end up sitting with me all that well.

To start, there being two couples that were having affairs just seemed too… expected. Everything kind of stemmed around affairs in the end too with two of the staff ending up being the children of one of the parents. I thought the reason for the kidnapping would honestly be a bit more substantial.

Overall, the suspense was pretty good in places and definitely kept me on my toes. I didn’t love how many points of view there were, and the police headquarters chapters were NOT my favourite.

I liked this book, but certainly didn’t love it. I want to thank NetGalley for this ARC!

All the families and the Head Teacher are involved and fully expect some sort of kidnap and ransom.

There was a short time in the book when the characters were going nowhere except to get in their cars and 'help' the police. However, Confession Night changed all that and I really enjoyed all the secrets and the behaviour of the characters.

No more spoilers from me with this pretty decent suspense/thriller.

This was such an unusual story which makes a nice surprise. A group of school children are on a field trip with 4 teachers and they don't return at the expected time. Lots of the parents seem worried about a secret they hold and that it may have been the reason the children went missing. Absorbing and tense, this well written novel kept me enthralled and indulging in long reading sessions in order to uncover the lies and secrets that the protagonist is hiding.

This was a pretty good thriller. It was slow going at first and I nearly put it down, but Confession Night sparked a raging fire. The book took me on a wild roller coaster from the point on of twists and turns. One element, however, bothered me throughout the book: the characters. They melded together, completely unidentifiable from one another. They didn't habe their own personalities at all. Very weak characterization which really took away from a unique thriller.

The title and plot grabbed me, straight away but the writing felt flat in places which detracted from a potential five star rating. The characters I found I couldn’t connect to. They were unlikeable, flawed in a way. This was the first book that I have read by this author.

It was a bit slow moving in the beginning wondering what happened but once they had confession night, BAM that was when it picked up speed and went out of control!!!! Really good characters, I couldn’t wait to find out the WHY! I never saw the very ending and I’m usually good at figuring plots out. Jackie Kabler keep writing please.

I was really intrigued by the premise of this book. I thought that the author built up suspicion really well and I felt like I was suspecting everybody at one point. I thought the characters were well fleshed out and the tension was addictive. However the only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because of the ending. I felt like it was a bit too much out of left field and went a bit nuts to be honest. It didn’t have the impact it would have had if the author had left any red herrings. This was a case of things being deliberately omitted and not thought about which was a bit unrealistic. I did like the way the author made commentary about the rich and poor divide and the social commentary was apt and relevant. It was a really good read, I just wish it had ended differently.

Over the last few years I've struggled with thrillers; I'm not sure if this because there's not been many good ones or if I've read too many. And yet when I saw the premise for TVoC3B I had to read it because that premise just swept me off my feet.
At first I enjoyed it, I kept picking it up, wanting to know where the kids were and what secrets everyone was keeping. The writing was a little heavy-handed (too many <i>if they knew my secret</i> lines) but it didn't detract from the story.
Unfortunately the ending was left wanting. The whondunnit was okay but the reasoning a little wan and you never really got to know the bad guy. There was a villainous monologue and cops acting like complete morons. Like seriously, according to this book the parents are better at doing DNA tests than the cops. And the wherearetheynow chapter was a little too happy ending for me and improbable.
But it was a fun read.

This is a hard one to review. Loved the plot, loved the twists, turns and drama. However, I struggled with the multiple points of view. At times it was hard to keep up with whose chapter it was.
In the end they all blurred together. Lucky the plot was strong enough to keep me turning the pages.
Fantastic plot, read the novel over a day.

This book had an interesting storyline that was fairly unique. When 4 teachers and their pupils are taken hostage on the way home from a school trip, it looks like a straightforward extortion plot. But the families involved are about to be dragged into misery they couldn't have forseen. I enjoyed this book, the characters were a mixture of seemingly decent people and ones with secrets but it was twisty enough you couldn't figure out who really held the secrets! It definitely keeps you reading to find out the truth. A decent suspense/thriller novel well worth a read.

Fantastic thriller which had a very unique story. A bus full of children and their teachers leave their Cotswold primary school on a school trip. Their parents bid them farewell full expecting to see them again a few hours later but the class do not return what has happened to them. This had me gripped from the start great thriller which will have you racing to find out how it ends. Will definitely be recommending this to all.

The premise sounded interesting, but it failed in the execution. The writing itself was okay, but there were issues with the plot/plot holes. The police were too clueless for belief (in many instances). And the parents seemed to hold back critical information that most people, especially with abducted kids, would tell the police. And some of the reactions to the actions of others seemed overblown. The twist really wasn't all that shocking.

A bit of a mixed bag, the story, of course is headline/book grabbing….a group of kids and their teachers disappear into thin air whilst on a school trip….no trace of anything can be found and then ransom texts start to appear….with threats…
The parents, well a few of them, they call themselves ‘the 8’ in the end all have life changing secrets that could be the reason for the kidnap of their children and so they confess all…
The tension nay anguish from the 8 ( and other parents not having secrets ) is real and you believe their total helplessness at the situation, the Police dealing with it are a bit wooden in comparison and don’t really leave much of an impression, the kidnappers and the story behind it when revealed is a mix of ‘Wow’ and ‘Oh’ and am not 100% sure I was invested enough by then to believe the plot
None the less a story to finish and characters to loathe ( always good ) and I like the authors informal style of writing

I was expecting this book to go in one direction but it went in the other. I thought it a gentle read and a little slow and it didn’t make me gasp out loud or leave me unable to sleep. After all the story is about missing children. It was well written and I did finish it.

Intriguing, Engaging..
What on earth has caused a minibus of school children and staff to suddenly disappear- seemingly off the face of the earth? This is the premise behind this slow burn suspense and, more so, what will be the fallout of the situation and the consequences? As the situation progresses and the mystery begins to unravel, the reader is privy to a whole host of characters along with their secrets, their lies and their duplicity. Intriguing, engaging and compelling.

This story was a slower pace than previous ones I have been reading recently but I enjoy the twists and turns that kept me engaged. I did find a lot of this book as expected but sometimes you need a book that you can guess what is happening next.
