A wonderful children's book on feelings, one I will purchase for the grandchildren. This book has fun characters and is very engaging for children. An easy children's book that can be used to teach kids about their feelings and how to be respectful of the feelings of others.
Sunny Bunnies: My Book of Feelings is a really good introductiory book for youngsters to learn about their feelings. It gave a swift overview of the main ones and applied a color to each of them, which I think caregivers would commonly agree with e.g., green represents calm, red represents anger, and blue is sadness.
I would have like to have seen a range of terminology. Because the descriptions of each emotion were so short, words like (un)pleasant and positive really stood out, whereas I thought the author could have led with different terms from one emotion to the next to really point out the difference between each one. That said, there was the inclusion of good examples of when each emotion might be felt, accompanied by the illustrations of the Sunny Bunnies depicting these feelings in their facial expressions and gestures.
This is a good book to bring out regularly to read with children as they are learning how to express, deal with, and explore their emotions. As an added bonus, there are four exercises at the back to assist with this.
This was a fun book to read with my daughter but to also utilize in my session with children's therapy clients. I would recommend this to parents and/or people who work with young kids.
In this delightful children's book, young readers become familiar with their favorite Sunny Bunny characters and various emotions. It is filled with colorful characters and charming lessons about managing emotions with kindness, empathy, and the joy of self-discovery. Sunny Bunnies: My Book of Feelings is an excellent read for parents as well as special education teachers at the elementary level. I highly recommend this book and will be purchasing it for my classrooms. Thank you NetGalley for being able to review this book!
This is a cute book about emotions for children and would especially be a great fit for kids that like the Sunny Bunnies. I read this with my daughter who enjoys the Sunny Bunnies characters and she enjoyed it. The addition of the questions in the book helped us to have a good conversation about her emotions and how to deal with them. I especially appreciated the examples of what each emotion feels like and what might cause it as well as the inclusion of unique coping techniques for each emotion. As my daughter is currently learning how to manager her strong emotions I appreciated how the book helped her introspect about what makes her feel certain emotions and we will try the coping techniques in the book over the next couple weeks to see how they work. This is a good book for discussing all emotions for kids.
I received this book for free in exchange for my honest feedback.
"Sunny Bunnies: My Book of Feelings," authored by Carine Laforest and illustrated by Animation Cafe, is a delightful primer on emotional literacy for children. The book employs the charm of the Sunny Bunnies to navigate through the kaleidoscope of human emotions. With each page dedicated to a different feeling, young readers are invited to explore and identify what they may be experiencing. This book is thoughtfully constructed, featuring a colour-coded guide to emotions and interactive exercises, making it an ideal resource for parents and educators to foster emotional intelligence in little ones. Bright illustrations captivate, ensuring engagement, while the text invites introspection and conversation, making it a great tool for nurturing young minds.
A nice book that can help kids identify their feelings and what that emotions means. This book also includes steps to take to change the way you are feeling which can be very helpful for kids.
An excellent educational children’s book that covers topics of different emotions, how to recognize them, where they may come from and why.
My little one enjoyed this book!
I loved this book, it gave me everything I wanted as a reader and more. I am a sucker for a cute cover and it kept my kids interested.
Exceptional narrative and captivating illustrations! Incredibly beneficial – I appreciate the incorporation of distinct colors for each emotion. The storyline beautifully captures the essence of emotions and their tactile sensations, prompting readers to reflect on when they experience each specific emotion. The inclusion of four practical breathing exercises at the conclusion adds immense value – a must-try with your young reader. A truly delightful story that I wholeheartedly recommend. This review reflects my genuine thoughts on this Advance Reader Copy (ARC). Highly recommended.
This one is such a great book for kiddos navigating their feelings. My 3 year old is still learning how to appropriately express his, especially when he is angry or frustrated. I enjoyed reading this one to him and he seemed to enjoy the story as well!
This is a short, colorful introduction to feelings. Each spread briefly explains a feeling, shows a picture of one of the bunnies experiencing that feeling, then asks the reader when they've felt that way. Appropriate for ages 3-7, as the descriptions are pretty simple, but there are exercises at the end that older children could benefit from. The exercises are essentially breathing and other types of mindfulness.
Thank you NetGalley for an advance ebook in exchange for my honest review.
Thanks NetGalley for the advanced reader copy. This book is super cute and helps kids think about what each emotion feels like to help them learn to recognize it. It has great questions to ask kids about each emotion.
I'm not sure what age this is meant for, as some of the descriptions feel aimed at older children (and the coping strategies at the end feel meant for slightly older kiddos) where the rest of the book seems designed for younger readers.
Sunny Bunnies : My Book of Feelings was a wonderful book! I asked for the ARC because my 3 kids absolutely adore the Sunny Bunnies and this book was perfect for them. The colors were vibrant, the feelings and emotions were explained in easy terms for even my 5 year old to understand, and the 4 exercises at the end can be used by children and adults to help calm big feelings and emotion's. That you Carine Laforest, Netgalley and Chouette Publishing for the ARC!
had so much fun reading this book, the story is so adorable and the illustrations were so well done and charming, there’s so many little details in every page that I couldn’t stop but be mesmerized by it all. I will definitely be recommending it! Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this early copy

Sunny Bunnies: My Book of Feelings is part of the Sunny Bunnies series and was written by Carine Laforest and illustrated by Animation Cafe. I was excited to read this new picture book to help little ones learn about their feelings. The idea is similar to Disney’s Inside Out where different colors represent different emotions. The illustrations throughout the book are quite colorful and fun. Each page describing an emotion is that one’s dedicated color. There is also a smaller illustration showing one or more of the bunnies actually experiencing the emotion. I liked this idea a lot but found it confusing that the bunny depicted experiencing the emotion was different than the emotion being described. The words used to describe the emotions seemed generally appropriate for young kids. While reading I did think that a few words were more advanced than I expected. But I guess that’s a good way to expand a child’s vocabulary. Another strength of the text is that besides saying what an emotion is, it describes how the child/person might physically feel. A kid friendly example of when someone might feel that emotion is also included. Finally, at the end of the book there are practical ways the reader can work on regulating their emotions.
A lovely, short guide to emotional literacy in a child-friendly format which will encourage conversations surrounding feelings, mood and self-awareness.
Our favourite part about this book, apart from the appealing, fluffy, rainbow-coloured illustrations designed to engage children from the outset, was the way it encourages a 'body-scan' for the emotion. An essential of building emotional resilience in our little ones is for them to be able to recognise how a certain mood might make us feel physically. Each emotional state is accompanied by interoceptive information to help them to do so.
Little captions underneath the bunnies give examples of context for the emotion too.
We would recommend this for children from 3-5 as an introduction to emotional vocabulary.
Thank you NetGalley and CrackBoom! Books for sending this eBook for review consideration. All opinions are our own.
A perfectly decent beginner’s guide to emotions, with a few lessons in breathing and moving them away from us, portrayed by some ultra-expressive critters, that are hard to actually recognise as rabbits now and again. That aside, and apart from the fact this clearly wants to be part of a franchise and not a stand-alone creation, this is wonderful.
Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to review this ARC with honesty.
My almost four year old loves Sunny Bunnies so when she saw we we're going to be reading about them, she got extremely excited. This ranges through all the emotions by explaining what you may feel and how to work with them. I'm not sure on age range but some of it went over her head a bit so I had to interpret it for her but overall it was a cute story about each Sunny Bunny dealing with an emotion or two along with tips on how to deal with each positive and negative one.
I read this book with my 8 year old daughter and we really enjoyed it. There were some good talking points that encouraged us to share times where we felt different emotions. This book describes various different emotions in an excellent, child-friendly way with some lovely illustrations. This would be a great addition to any Early Years setting with numerous learning opportunities leading from it.
