Don't Swipe Right by L.M. Chilton
After a bad breakup, Gwen thinks that joining a dating app is exactly what she needs. The matches come flying in, and so do the dates. After a string of awful first dates, Gwen forgets about the guys and moves on to the next. Until one of them turns up dead, and Gwen's world is turned upside down. She sets out to hunt down the killer, but will she find them before they kill again?
This book was captivating and fast-paced right from the beginning. This murdery mystery was funny, with heaps of wit and sarcasm, which kept me entertained throughout. Our main character, Gwen, absolutely made this book for me. How she continued to rush into these ridiculous situations without a second thought had me giggling because of how absurd it was. The way the author shows us her confused, panicked state of mind through her erratic and questionable actions was really inspired. She is also incredibly witty and makes some brilliant, honest observations on how tough the dating world is these days. Also, the complete lack of awareness from the police during these crazy events had me simultaneously rolling my eyes and laughing.
The choice of using a very contemporary thing, such as a dating app, was a new and interesting idea for a plot, and one that I really enjoyed. The intense and dramatic ending to this book had my heart pounding in my chest.
Overall, I found this to be an easy read that kept me thoroughly entertained throughout. The author has a lovely, witty writing style that was a joy to read. This, mixed with the unique and thrilling plot makes this book a must-read. I would highly reccomend.
Thank you to Netgalley, Head of Zeus publishing and L.M Chilton for the ARC

Sometimes dating can feel like murder - but for Gwen, that's closer to the truth than she knows. She joined a dating app to try and move on from a devastating breakup, but every single man she meets just seems to get worse until she thinks they couldn't possibly get worse.
And then - one dies. And another one. Someone seems hellbent on killing everyone she's dated recently, but she has no idea why … or who. But whoever they are, they want her to notice.
So now, it's a race to track down every terrible date before it's too late. Before they find all of them. Before they find her.
"And now here I was, on the brink of unravelling in an empty corridor, weeping for men I'd barely known, temporary acquaintances, fodder for anecdotes at best. But my life would be intertwined with theirs - forever."
This is a bitingly funny and entertaining thriller; a contemporary murder-mystery set in the modern world of online dating and connected worlds.
From the very first moment, Gwen is undeniably compelling. She bares her soul to the reader, creating the tone of this story which is firmly in the grey - what really makes someone the villain? Are there bad people or just bad actions? And can we trust anyone in this book? She's witty, sarcastic and doesn't take crap from anyone - her observations on dating and modern life were razor sharp and utterly hilarious. She isn't a saint herself, but the way she faces her bad choices is so very real and full of heart.
This is like thriller-lite - part police procedural, part murder mystery and part total chaos. Gwen finds herself in increasingly ridiculous situations, bodies following her, cryptic messages turning up and incompetent police officers taking over her life when all she wants is a break. The pace starts strong and doesn't let up, the momentum steaming full speed ahead even with Gwens tangents and trains of thought. The story engrosses us with potential leads and suspects - leading us to a totally explosive ending that left me reeling.
Electrifying entertaining and just the right amount of absurd - you should definitely swipe right on this book

Really loved this one! Was very unique and unlike anything I’d read before. Loved the twists and how it kept you guessing right to the end too. The humour and how it all linked up in the end was very clever as well

Gwen, the main character, recovers from the breakup of her relationship. She jumps on online dating and the story become more interesting and... scary. The book is a murder mystery full of humorous moments and some twists. A very enjoyable read.

I finished it in one day! I could not stop reading, I loved the humor and the mistery, and trying to guess who was the killer (I was so shocked at the end, so great job mantaining the suspense!)
I'm going to read more books by this author for sure.

Gwen Turner is still devastated by the breakup of a long term relationship, but enough is enough, she’s joined the new dating app Connector, and she’s putting herself out there again (well, at least dipping her toes in)!
Problem is, each date seems to be worse than the one before, and then comes the mother of all dates, a serial killer intent on murdering all of her previous dates!
Don’t Swipe Right may be a murder mystery, but it was also a fun read ( you don’t often get to say that when a serial killer is involved). Gwen is determined to find out who the perpetrator is, but the police see her as the prime suspect. I have to say it kept me guessing, and entertained, and boy was I shocked to discover who the killer really was!

ARC received in return for an honest review
The book follows Gwen who is tipping her toe back into the world of dating after splitting with a long-term partner. She goes on many first dates (though they never make it to a second) and then they start turning up dead.
It was a decently paced book which I finished in an evening, some of the twists were quite predicable but it was enjoyable nevertheless.
If you’re after an easy, quick, enjoyable read - this is a great option

For a book with a heaping body count this is actually a very funny and light read!
The combination of slightly desperate singleton with a bad relationship behind her and a number of meaningless dates from an app and the mysterious Parker, who seems to be following Gwen and killing her unwanted dates is very clever and although you think you can see where the plot is going it has a magnificent twist at the end!

A good contemporary mystery that leaves you on the edge of your seat! Great writing style and the humour was on point to my liking.

A crime mystery with comic elements. The premise was great, a young woman's dates are murdered. However, the characters were underwritten in favour of the story. Despite some serious aspects ie murder, the novel was very light and frivolous.

The premise of the book is fantastic, dating is hellish!
This book is light and has humour throughout. It is classed as a mystery/thriller but is much much lighter than that.
I think this is a book more aimed at the general light fiction market and for this reason I didn’t really enjoy it hugely.
I would recommend this to anyone that is considering a thriller but hasn’t read on before, a really nice compromise.

Gwen lives in Eastbourne, with her best friend Sarah, who is about to get married to Richard, but Gwen doesn't like him. Gwen has recently broken up with Noah, her long-term boyfriend, and is using Connector to meet new dates. None of them go well, and then one of them is found murdered. The investigating officer turns out to be her schoolfriend's brother. Gwen is a suspect in the murder investigation, but still manages to get DI Lyons to follow up on her ideas. It's all a bit far-fetched, and flippant. Noah's disappearance doesn't get explained.

This book is one that most mystery books fans will really enjoy.
The plot had so many twists and turns I couldn’t put the book down
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery or thriller.

It’s an incredibly quirky kind of book. Unique, clever, funny - definitely gives a different spin on your typical serial killer read. This will
be a fun summer book - one you will see on all the sun loungers! Will be recommending!

Loved this - couldn't put it down. Surprised it's a debut!
Thought it was going to be a predictable ending, was wrong!
Worth a read & look forward to the next book from this author.

Fresh in the midst of Valentines, I started reading Don't Swipe Right on Valentines day. Not only was it topical but the book is set on the lead up to Gwen's best friends wedding on February 14th.
Following a fairly recent break up, Gwen is dipping her toe in the dating pool using online apps to meet new people. She is quickly realising that it's slim pickings. But the biggest shock comes when one of her dates, Rob is found dead in the local park.
After finding messages on the dating app from Gwen, the police want to speak her as she may have been one of the last people to speak to him alive. But then Freddie - her date from the following night is found dead too..
In my opinion this book is extremely plot driven - I enjoyed the characters but they were relatively flat with only the barest of back story.
As a thriller, this definitely meets he whodunnit criteria - I was kept guessing all the way through!

I absolutely blitzed through this book. I loved Gwen - I’d love to be her friend!! I loved the concept of the MC going from serial dating to serial killer, or at least that’s how it seems to be going down. It’s such a fun, laugh-out-loud murder mystery. I did not guess the twist at the end and I loved it! It kept me gripped throughout as I just had to know what was going on.
I actually can’t believe this is a debut novel, it’s so well thought out! Highly recommend and I’ll definitely be on the look out for other books this author publishes.

Don’t Swipe Right is a brilliant read about the hazards of using dating apps. It was funny, witty, and a real view of dating in society today…maybe minus the murders! I don’t want the book to end, I really did love it.

This was a brilliant take on a classic styled novel. With twists and turns, it provides an interesting outlook on every day experiences.

I loved this book, lighthearted mystery, with plenty of funny parts, I just loved Gwen as a character and Aubrey, I'd love a sequel to this book about what happens next to the characters. 5 star read, well written enjoyable read, would really recommend this book.
