The second edition of the book only a couple of years after the first, but, having read both, this is indeed updated & improved with even more up to date information, yet continuing to feature easy to access & understand chapters that can be either read within the book as a whole or dipped in & out of depending on stage, symptoms or if specific information is needed.
A book jam-packed with information, but not overloaded with jargon & the need for a medical degree to understand. A must-read for anyone approaching or in the peri-menopause or menopause, and their partners. Demystifying & debunking something that has for far too long been taboo.

It is important to mention this is a second edition, which is crucial in an evolving field. It talks more about symptoms and new treatments than the previous edition.
The introduction talks about menopause being the club that no-one wants to join, but I think with resources like this book, documentaries, online forums and so on, that is changing.
Full and frank conversations about menopause seem to be more widespread, and this is one format for them.
It can be easier to consult a book than it is to ask someone you know, or a GP.
A book can also be a first step to having real-life conversations, and can provide a framework for them.
This one starts with science, and then develops into chapters which enable someone to work out if they're in peri or menopause, and if so, what might help them.

The perfect book at the perfect time! This is going to be such a great resource for me as I navigate peri / menopause, and having had numerous symptoms over the last year that my GP hasn't linked to this, it's going to spur me on to go back and have another consultation. Thank you Dr Phillipa Kaye for such an insightful, informative and accessible book.
