The Ultimate Self Esteem Toolkit is certainly aptly named. It provides a wealth of strategies and practical exercises to reframe your thinking and challenge your low self esteem. It's a guide you can revisit time and time again which an approachable narrative. I particularly enjoyed the Neuroscience Nuggets which provided the opportunity to learn something new and be reassured that the methods covered in book are framed by scientific research. I'd recommend this book for sure.

Thank you to Risa Williams, Jessica Kingsley Publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to review an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Lots of good tips for building self-esteem. A great toolkit full of ideas, broken down into smaller areas of focus.

I absolutely love this book. It is simple, easy to understand, breaks everything down into simple chunks and somehow manages to be common sense but not patronising.

I love the neuroscience nuggets which give important information without using baffling/complex terms.

I love the way the book teaches you why we all tend to think in certain ways and then gives workable strategies as to how to make changes. The author does not pretend that while simple in themselves, the tasks will be easy to do, she acknowledges that changing habits and entrenched thinking is hard and takes practice.

A really great book, quick to read and will be so good to return to regularly to refresh the learning.

The Ultimate Self Esteem Toolkit by Risa Williams offers understandable and practical tools and tips on how to improve self esteem and over all mental well-being. The authors tone is fantastic and would be the perfect book for those who are finding it difficult to concentrate, find balance within their life and struggling with motivation.

This is a useful book for anyone who wants to improve their self esteem.
It is written in 5 easy to read chapters that could be read across 5 weeks.
It has interesting exercises and the author's voice is comforting to read as you work through them.

This book offers a nice mix of personable and introductory level science. I would imagine it to be more suited to slightly younger audiences and is not something I would add to reading lists for mental health professionals or which reached me personally at all.

I enjoyed this book. I liked the “neuroscience nuggets” that explained the scientific process behind the ideas and exercises. People who are relatively new to learning about self-esteem will find this book valuable, but those who are already familiar with the concept won’t find anything groundbreaking here.

There are some really solid fundamentals in this book, a good refresher/reminder of improving your emotional and mental state. It also includes worksheets and action items that come in very handy.

I can see many teenagers and people who just started their career to benefit greatly from this book; however, many of the tips are slightly inapplicable, such as setting time parameters or leaving your phone on the side (not a smart idea if your job depends on notifications from your boss and clients). Without spoiling too much of the content, I think the book tackles a widespread problem in a very simple way. A worthwhile read if you want a quick refreshing on your self-esteem.
