I am yet to read a Lindsey Kelk book that I don't love and Love Me Do was no exception.
A hilarious and heart warming read, full of loveable characters (Myrna is the best) that leaves you wanting more.
Please announce a Love Me Do 2!

Lindsey Kelk is a relatively new author for me. She has been writing and publishing books for years but it has only been these past few months that I have picked up her books. This is the third one that I have read, and I have to say I am a fan! I am absolutely loving her books. They are such fun reads that are perfect for when you want a book equivalent of a fun romcom.
Love Me Do follows the story of Phoebe, a woman in her 30s who goes to see her sister who lives in LA and while there tried to set up her new friends, Ren and Bel. However, as they start to get a little closer, Phoebe realises that she may like Ren and she has just possibly done the worst thing ever.
I really enjoyed Love Me Do. It’s such a fun read and I really enjoyed that the book was set in LA, but in the language there was so much Britishness in there too. As a Brit myself, I really enjoyed this. Lindsey is a fantastic author at building up a really fun plot that will have you laughing out loud one minute, and feeling super emotional the next. This was honestly so funny, and I absolutely loved her side characters. Bel would be the most irritating person in real life, but I fully believe that people living in Hollywood are exactly like that. I just loved everything about the secondary characters, that a part of me is hoping she decides to write a book with them as the main character in the future.
My one slight issue with Love Me Do is how all of the conflicts were rectified so quickly in the end. I just felt like the conclusion of this book was rushed. Some of the issues were happening with only 50 pages left and then suddenly 2 pages after the issue it was resolved. There were so many other things that could have happened to resolve these that would have felt more natural, in my opinion, so I was a little bit disappointed in how rushed the ending felt. Other than that I really enjoyed every moment of Love Me Do.
Love Me Do would be the perfect summer read. I read this at the end of September, so I was starting to get more in the mood for autumnal reads. I honestly really enjoyed Love Me Do, but a part of me does feel like I’d have loved it even more if I’d have read it in the middle of summer. I can’t wait to read more of Lindsey Kelk’s work in the future, and I am super excited to see her try her hand at YA Romantasy next year. I would definitely recommend this one for romcom/contemporary lovers. You really can’t go wrong with Lindsey’s books.

I can’t attend the wonderful @lindseykelk #lovemedoontheroad due to work and locations. However, the lovely Felicity @harperfictionpr sent me an early copy to get stuck into.
I haven’t been disappointed. Kelk is an author who gets better and better. This book has stolen my heart, kept my attention and been the escape I’ve needed. Love Me Do is everything I hoped it would be and so much more. I have devoured this book in just one sitting.
Love Me Do is a book guaranteed to make you laugh out loud, smile and feel all lighthearted and happy. Kelk is definitely getting better and better. Although, over the years Kelk’s books have been a saving grace to my mental health, this is still a firm favourite.
The characters in this book are just brilliant. Each likeable in their own ways. The setting is perfect, I loved a visit to the glamorous setting with gorgeous characters.
Kelk is definitely a queen of the genre. A hugely talented author, who never fails to make me fall in love. This book is brilliant from beginning to end.
There is nothing negative I can say about this beautiful gem. It is definitely a must for the TBR.
Publishing Thursday 20th.

For me Lindsey Kelj just can not do it wrong. I love her writing stile and I loved this book. I was soooo happy for getting this arc. Easy 5 stars

This book was equally parts hilarious as it was emotional. It is my first book by Lindsey Kelk, and I've just fallen in love with her writing. She has a way of creating such loveable characters, and a brilliantly unique plotline. Such a good book.

Such a lovely, refreshing book! I found both phoebe and Ren characters so refreshing as they weren’t typical stereotypes, they were original characters who had so much chemistry and depth and I loved reading their interactions. I absolutely adored Myrna too, every single thing about her character was perfect, I could definitely read a book about her. It was an easy read, filled with positivity, humour, brilliant tropes that were written so well and overall Just a great book to escape reality with. The ending was perfect too.!

Pheobe has shut herself off from love after a disaster romance. She heads to Los Angeles to visit her sister Suzanne. When her sister has to rush off for a work trip, Pheobe is left to her own devices .
Lindsey Kelk knows how to write warm engaging characters. When Pheobe first meets Ren he is bird watching in his back garden and he insists Pheobe climb over the fence and join him. Ren is handsome and charming but doesnt know how handsome he is. We meet Bel for the first time the next morning. She is Suzanne's personal trainer and has a huge crush on Ren. Bel takes Pheobe under her wings and shows her round LA , even getting her to dress up as a mermaid for a childs party.
Bel is gorgeous and lovable, but she has a huge problem when she is around men she fancies she goes to pieces. Pheobe wants to see her new friends happy and helps Bel win the charming Ren over by a
good old fashioned love letter. It does the trick, but as Pheobe spends more time with Ren she starts to fall for him. She just wants Bel and Ren to be happy,so tries to hide her feelings.
Pheobe also finds time to strike up a friendship with a reclusive old movie star Myrna, who is a fantastic character herself. Love Me Do is a feel good story, with love and comedy moments. Highly recomended for fans of rom coms.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC. I’ve been feeling very guilty that it is taking me so long to get through books. Life has gotten very busy - my apologies to the publisher.
This was more on the comedy side than the romance side, but I enjoyed this easy (albeit a little predictable) read.
I particularly enjoyed the lead’s ability to make quick friendships (loved the actress) and make the most of the situations she found herself in.
I docked a few stars because I struggled a little with the glam/stunning depiction of LA, and the stereotype characters. I also find it a little painful to watch someone with an obvious crush play matchmaker- love triangles are my least favourite trope (but that’s totally personal!)
Kelk delivered a great comedy, an excellent holiday read.

Is there ever gonna be a book written by Lindsey Kelk that I don't love? I really hope not, because whenever I pick one of her books, I know I am in for a real treat. I can escape to her stories and I know for sure that I will find the most charming characters, I will laugh, I will get emotional and I will feel better with the world.
And Love Me Do surpassed all my expectations. I know Lindsey Kelk had said that this story was a bit different that her previous one, more Com than Rom, and I don't know what she did exactly but she definitely nailed it.
I have just finished reading about Phoebe and Ren and Mora and Bel... and I just want to go back to page one and start again. Definitely another triumph from Lindsey Kelk. I am now super curious about her next book, as I read it's a brand new genre.

This was a good read in classic Kelk style. Some very likable characters and the quest for a new beginning after a broken relationship.

I LOVED this book!
Phoebe heads to LA to visit her sister, who ends up leaving her to her own devices for a few days. I loved the main character Phoebe - she was so relatable. Having lived in Canada for a few years myself, I recognised so many of her observations about the change in culture - I laughed and had so many lovely memories. I was right there alongside Phoebe when she thought baseball would be a bit rubbish and fell in love with the game!
This is a heartwarming romcom with a beautiful setting and a wonderful cast of characters. I loved the old world charm of having an old movie star in the cast, and Phoebes traditional values.
Can I move to LA now please?

Love Me Do is a journey through the complexities of love, self-discovery, and the pursuit of dreams. Kelk is the queen of rom coms in my opinion, and this book is yet another hit. It is full of humour, heartwarming moments, and relatable characters set alongside a compelling narrative. It also has at least one Chris Evans reference, which is obviously important to note too.
This book is set in the bustling city of Los Angeles. California is my favourite state but I personally much prefer the beaches to LA itself. Kelk manages to combine the best bits of the California and Hollywood lifestyle both in her characters and the situations and locations.
Phoebe is in town to visit her sister, who is suddenly requested in San Diego for work, leaving her in a huge and expensive house all by herself. Ren (her sister’s neighbour) is an outdoor man and a carpenter who loves hiking the trails and birdwatching, whereas Bel (Phoebe’s sister’s personal trainer) is drop dead gorgeous and smart to boot, wears athleisure wear and knows all the good places for food in the LA area. Love Me Do also manages to capture that true essence and glamour of old school Hollywood - think Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo vibes. It will definitely have you itching to get on a plane to the West Coast...
Lindsey Kelk's writing style is easy to read and engaging, the dialogue witty and laugh out loud in parts, making the interactions between characters feel natural and realistic. It’s easy to find yourself emotionally invested in Phoebe’s life and escapades, especially as she attempts to navigate both LA and relationships on her own terms and in her own way. The pacing of the story is well-balanced with the plot unfolding at a steady pace, building up to a heartwarming conclusion.
Love Me Do is a charming novel with masterful storytelling and engaging characters. Whether you're curled up on a cosy afternoon or looking for a heartwarming escape, Love Me Do is a perfect book to pick up next.

Another Lindsey Kelk novel and another brilliant hit!
I absolutely love this author - I’ve read most of her books and I’m always so excited when I see a new offering.
Love Me Do took a little while to get going for me. However, by the 25% point I was fully engaged and rooting for Phoebe and Ren.
As always, supporting characters were really well written, each unique and added value to the story. I adored Myrna - a brilliant character, so funny, so refreshing and a great addition to the story.
Ren was a charming leading man. I would have liked a bit more chemistry between him and Phoebe in the run up, but that’s just me being really picky!
A lovely story, fab characters, lashings of LA glamour and some real down-to-earth British humour.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for my advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review 📚

It is a cool fall day where I live so spending some time taking in this book helped to warm me up. The setting, LA, and the fun, witty, characters all played a part in this.
Phoebe Chapman has not seen her sister Suzanne in a long time. So when she goes to visit her in LA and her sister has to go to Seattle Phoebe has nothing to do but explore. Not only does she enjoy her sister’s pool but also the neighbours; an elderly Hollywood actress and a sexy carpenter. What follows are adventures and conversations that lead Phoebe to question the negative image she has given herself and the chance to move on from past hurts.
The book is sweet, flirty, funny, and, in many aspects, one to encourage one to see themselves in a different, more positive, light. I admit there were times that I felt the story a bit disjointed and not much was happening however when Phoebe interacts with the other characters it flows quite nicely. I found myself wishing her sister had been in the story more allowing us to get to know her better. Still there was much to enjoy. I found myself wishing I could meet a saucy, eccentric, starlet or better yet a kind and sexy new friend.
Because audiobooks are what I do I also listened to this one. I enjoyed the narration by Heather Long but sometimes found the accent for the other characters a bit off.
Overall this is a very enjoyable book and I recommend giving it a read/listen. Many thanks to @Netgalley, the author and HarperCollins UK, Harper Fiction for the opportunity to read this ARC for my honest review.

A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable and varied, the plot is one that is engaging and medium paced. I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.

This was yet another quick read, as many of this genre tend to be. The book does not overstay its welcome and is a slight twist on an older plot. There have been several movies (at least in one or two languages that I have watched) where you have a character help another get the person that the original protagonist actually fancies and is better suited for.
Phoebe is a writer of pithy romantic statements for greeting cards (the second I have read and reviewed in succession recently. I did not know that this was still a good job to have!). She has taken a much-needed break to escape an ex's wedding date to fly to her sister's in LA. Her sister, however, needs to leave for work and leaves Phoebe alone in an interesting mansion. Soon after, a bubbly trainer enters and shakes up Phoebe's life. There is the interesting neighbour who Bel (The trainer) has already decided is her soulmate, but Phoebe feels drawn to him as well.
In the mix is an old actress who is hiding behind her walls. Phoebe is also trying to do the right thing when it comes to the information she has on her ex. The duration of all the events in the book is short, and a lot happens in the few days that we have with all the protagonists in the book.
A range of LA lifestyles is described in the book, and all the people are positive in their own way, as well as charming.
I liked all the people, and the writing was simple and straightforward. I also spent very few sittings working my way through the book, which I always see as a bonus. I would recommend this book to fans of the genre.
I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, but the review is entirely based on my own reading experience.

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.
Copywriter Phoebe Chapman writes verses for greetings cards. She is on a visit to Hollywood to her sister where she meets Bel her sisters personal trainer and Ren the handsome neighbour. Phoebe offers to play matchmaker for Bel and Ren but things take an unexpected turn when she starts to have feelings for Ren herself. Will he have feelings for Bel or Phoebe?

Lindsey Kelk’s books always have a special place in my heart because she is the author to first got me into Chic Lit. I always find the voices of her characters relatable and the settings are always enough to make me that bit jealous. This was no exception. I loved Myrna as a character particularly!
This was an easy, absorbing read that took me away to the Hollywood hills for a bit of an escape. Loved it.

“Love me do” is my first book by Lindsey Kelk. It is a cute romance where Phoebe tries to set up her friend with her hot neighbor. Only downside - Phoebe herself is in love with Ren but she’s only temporarily in LA, visiting her sister from the UK.
Phoebe is a greeting cards writer and is a big romantic so she tries to help Bel who’s absolutely gorgeous but completely useless standing in front of neighbor Ren.
The story itself is swooney and cute but there are a few things that I didn’t like. For starters, I didn’t care for Myrna Moore at all. I’m my opinion, she’s overly entitled and just a super weird person. I’m a little bit tired of these “quirky”, mostly old and “wise” characters some romance novels tend to host. They do absolutely nothing for me.
The second thing was that Bel’s overreactions towards Ren are just sooo extreme. I’m convinced that no person, however severe their anxiety or awkwardness might be, would not behave themselves the way Bel did. She could have just been extremely shy or awkward in an adorable way but not like a completely brainless person.
And lastly, this is a real slow burn and with that I mean that they get together at the 92% (!!) mark. That’s just a little bit too much for me.
All in all, the romance had its good, cute and heartfelt moments but overall couldn’t fully convince me. The ending was great tho!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Queen of romance! Another fun and easy read from Lindsey Kelk, set in crazy LA. With lots of twists and turns, some laugh out loud moments, Kelk has done it again.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
