I enjoyed this romance so much! Close proximity and miscommunication leading to them getting annoyed with each other?? I’m hooked, I always love to see how they fix things between them either physically or with words because when that tension hits its breaking point is the best part of any book!
I loved how Pippa was trying to prevent Wolfie from selling the estate but not really, she just made a few comments here and there but man Wolfie thought she was sabotaging it in every decision and turn. I loved that these two really had feelings for each other and were willing to give up their plans when it came down to it!
Such a cute cleanish romance!

This is my first book by this author. It was a sweet, light hearted romance where the main characters Pippa and Wolfie first meet as youngsters living in the same small Yorkshire village. Pippa used to enjoy the village fairs in Wolfie's family mansion house, Squires House, with it's magnificent gardens and maze. Wolfie however was surly, aloof and a bit of a loner, and as the years pass nothing seems to have changed.
I enjoyed this book and felt sorry for Pippa at the beginning with her break up with the very unlikeable Alex. When she finds a job looking after Squires House while it's waiting to be sold, it seems she is getting over her break up. Yes, it may seem really quick after being with Alex for so many years, but lets face it she was well rid of him. I also enjoyed the "enemies to lovers" storyline, although you know what was going to happen it was still fun watching and waiting. Wolfie was just as unapproachable as his younger self, but I did like him especially when his dry sense of humour made an appearance.
The book flowed along well and the location sounded wonderful. I loved Juniper the Pig and would happily have put up with her snaffling through my vegetable patch on her escapades! This was a lovely light hearted read with some more serious issues thrown in. All in all, I enjoyed following Pippa and Wolfie's stories and would recommend it.

Cute book!
It's an enjoyable read. My biggest issues were that it too so long for them to get together. And, I didn't like how quickly Wolfie was ready to through it all away. But, we do get to see a great character arc with Pippa. The audience really gets a chance to become a part of her life... and her way to finding love.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the arc. All opinions expressed are my own.

This was an incredibly fun and funny, enemies to lovers. Every character was written incredibly well and was so funny, nothing felt like feeler on unneeded. I loved reading this it made me feel so happy and wholesome, a true cosy romance read that I highly recommend. This is perfect for any romance lovers

Such a fun and easy read! Semi enemies to more story that finds both main characters reevaluating their lives and what they want. Well written and flowed easily. Secondary characters were hysterical and brought such whimsy to a tale as old as time story. Highly recommend!

The House Sitter by Elizabeth Drummond is a novel about a woman finding her feet after a toxic 10+ relationship. After her man leaves her high and dry, selling their business and home without consulting her, she becomes a house sitter in the town’s most prestigious historical home. Until the owner can sell it off they co-habitat, shenanigans ensue!
This book is a solid 3 star for me. It was easy to read and charming but it lacked chemistry and didn’t really delve into either of the main character’s issues. For example, why did Pippa let her ex treat her that way for 10+ years, will she ever develop a personality and believe in herself without a man? And Wolfie (I’m sorry, but what is up with this name?), will he be more than a pretty face with some trauma or can we learn more about who he is and his past?
Unfortunately because neither character had a strong personal journey, I felt they lacked chemistry and their flirtation stage was very meh. This book is a good beach read though, so I recommend to anyone familiar with the genre, just looking for a romance book.
Thank you NetGalley for letting me review!

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book for an honest review
Pippa thought she had it all a growing farm business a fiancée that was going to propose very soon and living in her happy place that she never wanted to leave. All this was lost in the blink of an eye and Pippa was forced to accept a house sitting job in the large manor house on the hill run by the lord himself Wolfe Squires. Wolfie wants to leave the village as much as Pippa wants to stay. There is friction between Pippa and Wolfie is it a love hate or a love love relationship read this easy read nicely written romance novel. Read and enjoy

If you’re looking for a good opposites attract book this is the one for you! Pippa and Wolfie are complete opposites who are actually perfect for each other.

Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book takes place in a small country town in Yorkshire, in a large country home, where Pippa Munro becomes a sort of housekeeper after breaking it off with her long term boyfriend. To start with, I felt she over reacted when he told her he was selling to the farm. I know they both lived there and it was theirs so it should have been mutual but……it was his family’s farm and he had every right.
I enjoyed the story. Pippa wasn’t someone I really gelled with, even as the book moved on but the other characters such as her cousins and her friends I loved!
Also special shout out to Juniper Sunbeam the pig! I loved whenever she turned up!
It just seemed that Pippa was all out of luck. As a reader you’re made to believe that, however the last act of the book made me completely fall in love with the story and with the romance between her and posh boy Wolfie Squires.
They were actually really cute in the end and I was rooting for them.
Despite being a little predictable in places it’s really cute and a nice quick paced romance.
3/5 stars.
Would have been a 4 if Alex the ex didn’t keep trying to get Pippa back and wouldn’t take no for an answer….he was just there to add drama!

First of all, a big thank you to NetGalley, Harper Collins UK and Elizabeth Drummond for granting me access to this advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest review. I like when characters and plots get under my skin a little bit. Pippa, Wolfie, and the Squires all got under my skin more than a little bit! I don’t live in the English countryside but I did watch my fair share of Downton Abbey and I was picturing a smaller yet sort of the same manor house. Throw in the greenery maze, grand piano and a neighborhood pig, what’s not to love? Wolfie was the perfect Mr. Darcy ish character and Pippa was the right sort to balance him out. Good supporting players especially the Frankie and Theo arc. Well done !!

This book is an absolutely lovely light hearted romance and is very typically English, I loved it! Pippa finds herself completely turned upside down when her over a decade long relationship ends, and with it her job and her home. She takes a job caretaking at an old English manor that featured in her youth and growing up. Man of the manor, grumpy and standoffish Wolfie, can't find the same charms in the quaint town as Pippa can and is determined to get rid of the place. I'm sure most of us can relate to Pippa in one way or another, and her strength and dedication is admirable. Seeing Wolfie's softer side appear was delightful after cracking the grumpy exterior. Thank you to netgalley and Harper Collins UK for providing me with this copy to review.

I feel like the love story/relationship went from zero for so long to immediately 100 that it felt a little unrealistic.

cute story about pippa finding herself, and realizing she deserves SO MUCH BETTER!!! i enjoyed it. full review on instagram

The House Sitter is a story about Piper, a small town girl, and farmer, and Wolfie, the owner of the house that Piper was house-sitting.
Right off the bat I hated Alex, even in the prologue, but then it got progressively worse with each page. Wolfie was kind and everything that Alex was simply not.
However I don't feel like the main characters had chemistry like at all, for 75% of the books they did not even talk.
I did not feel this book and the chemistry was just not there.

An irresistible slice of escapism and a joy to read. Compelling, absorbing and highly entertaining. Fast-moving and fun! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another great romcom - enemies to lovers trope. Cute cover and fun characters, you were rooting for Wolfie and Pippa......though I disliked "Wolfie's" name....LOL Looking forward to reading more from this author.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

Small town romance
Forced proximity
Grumpy x sunshine
Miscommunication
The House Sitter
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Another amazing rom-com that has me feeling all mushy inside. I loved the concept of this one, the grumpy x sunshine was on point, but I absolutely loathe the miscommunication trope. It took a while to really get in to the good stuff, but once we were in there was no getting me to put the book down. I loved the characters (except Alex of course) and loved the small town element.
Pippa Munroe has her life upended when her partner Alex makes life changing decisions without her. Ending the relationship Pippa finds herself jobless and homeless when a position becomes available as a house sitter for the infamous Squires manor that she loved so much as a kid. Enter Wolfie Squires the owner, wanting to sell. Pippa & Wolfie are on opposite spectrums when it comes to the future of Squires, but will they find common ground?

This was confusing and poorly executed. Did not enjoy. I had high hopes based on the description but nope. The female main character was awful, and while the male lead was ok, she was just a doormat.

An enjoyable book for a Sunday afternoon. The romance didn't feel central though to the story. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book.

great concept that didn’t disappoint :) thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC. Highly recommended
