3.5 rounded up

Best selling romance author Catherine Swift hasn’t been entirely successful in the romance department herself, but she hopes wedding number four will set this right. Invitations for the nuptials on Corfu, where Catherine lives are sent out but who is the mystery groom???? Adeline, her eldest daughter, contemplates the invitation, she’s obviously expected to attend, but has no great desire to do so. Cassie, her half sister, has the opposite reaction and is thrilled by the news. This is a family that has secrets, is this the opportunity to bring things to the surface and address issues and start over again? It’s certainly going to be a wedding to remember one way or another. The novel is told by mother and daughters which works really well allowing you to understand their difficulties as well as their personalities. Their relationships and interactions are done very well.

Sarah Morgan always delivers a romance novel with a difference in that there is substance and depth to the storytelling. There is plenty going on in this to keep you reading on, especially the dysfunction both in the present day and how it lingers from the past and still looming large. There are several fractured relationships here and the hope for healing. In addition, it looks at parenthood and how it impacts and affects personalities in a number of ways. There’s the hope of forgiveness and love but also facing up to the truth of long buried issues. There are some good surprises, not least the identity of the groom, parts are heartwarming, but there are also some darker sections. I love the setting in Corfu, which right now, when we’re still in winters deep clutches, it is an attractive prospect!

My only reservation of the book is its length, in my opinion it’s too long!

Overall, though this is another good read from Sarah Morgan, one to happily take to the beach, maybe in Corfu.

Thanks to NetGalley and especially to HQ for the much appreciated arc in return for an honest review.

Oh wow! What stunning story,, I love Sarah's books but this one was exceptional, absolutely stuffed full of emotions, misunderstandings, love and sisterly affection at last

A wonderful read based in idyllic corfu, a fantastic villa overlooking the sea, a successful author, an imminent wedding and two beautiful daughters life should have been perfect but under this facade all is not as it seems!
Tensions are running high as Catherine’s daughters arrive in corfu to attend their mothers wedding to a surprise groom! Previous baggage, resentment, misunderstandings abound as they all come together!
Over a tumultuous couple of days emotions run high as secrets are revealed, misunderstandings righted, and clarity obtained!
Addy and Cassie have such different views of their childhood and as such have shaped their adult lives around this so to have everything they thought they knew changed on a sixpence is life changing! Suddenly they can open up, allow themselves to love and be loved and develop wonderful family relationships, personal relationships and true happiness!
Such an intriguing read of family dynamics with a mysterious undertone but ultimately a glorious real feel good ending.
Thank you netgalley fir this early read.

Summer Wedding is not only a fictional romance novel but also a family drama. The three main characters mum and author Catherine Swift and daughters Adeline and Cassie each tell their story in their own chapters.
When Adeline receives a wedding invitation, she has reservations about attending, as it will be her Mothers fourth wedding and Adeline has no clue as to who the groom is!
Cassie is much more optimistic and she cannot wait to fly to her childhood home in Corfu for the nuptials. She is bursting with excitement as well as questions.
This family have secrets and as most are revealed they bond closer than they ever expected could be possible but of course, that is not before relationships are put to the test.

My thanks to Net Galley and publishers HQ for the ARC of this delightful novel.

I love a Sarah Morgan novel and this one delivered on all levels.

Cassie and Adeline are sisters, more or less, estranged, brought back together to Greece when their mother, famous romance novelist Catherine Swift, announces she's getting married again. But fails to mention who to... When the family is reunited in Corfu, will it all be plain sailing?

I loved this novel so much and got in to the story immediately. I was desperate to find out who Catherine was marrying, if the sisters would mend their relationships and if they'd both make things work with their potential romantic interests. I flew through this in two days.

Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy.

A stunning romance where the past meets the future, but causes complications along the way. With believable.characters and a gorgeous backdrop this is a glorious read for a lazy weekend.

A really enjoyable read with a bit more to it than a typical chick lit romcom story! Descriptions of Corfu made me want to travel there immediately! The dynamics between mother and two daughters was really well told as was the relationship between the two sisters. I would happily recommend this to my friends and look forward to reading it again!

A family weddings

Catherine  Swift is a bestselling romance author, but her  personal story hasn't quite so successful; three failed marries have left her relationship with her daughters strained. Engaged again  Catherine is counting on this wedding at her villa in Corfu, to bring the family together'.

Adelpine, whom is 35, can't believe her mother news but her sister  Cassie is thrilled by her mothers surprising news, although she's  got a secret of her own. What they both know is that they have have never heard about this man before 1🤔.
Adelpine 'is someone and leave no trace, 'Drenched in the pain of pain of others' as she writes in advice column in a magazine

'The advice column pleased her'.'I'm bathing like my mother' her mother was one big romantic fantasy, whereas hers was her was firmly rooted in reality'. Work  life balance was good 👍
They wanted to expand her column but she states  'l'd  want full editorial control' and 'I  choose the letters I answer'

Maria managed the villa but was also now a firm best friend to Catherine, over years. She would be making a delicious menu for the wedding' also her son Stefonanos was back running the family boating business.

Adelines father changed his careers to become artist after his divorce from Adenine's mother.
Originally from Boston but now moved to  Cape Cod. He was the one constant in her life.... she always felt close to  him, he'd never married again and as she hoped him to. He advised her to go to the wedding.

Unlike her sister was excited about the wedding.
Wants to write a novel, just like her mother, looks up to her. Oliver her very best friend, from Oxford college, and they now lived together.
Has given up both trying to get close to her sister as she found her intimidating and a little cold
Her sister and herself were  opposite and 8 years.

Cathrine Swith we learn more about 'had written more than sixty romance novels and sold hundreds of millions of copies. So knows about love ❤.
Cathrine 'couldn't remember a time when she hasn't  had stories and characters racing around inn her head.

Adeline bagged being sent to blurring school by Catherine. But she loved words but could used  them on bullies.  However got a chance to write a short story in English literature, but got given a D fail! It is trash and moreover is devastated  and humiliated. And that 'you'll never be a writer... she felt small'.

This wedding would change everything for the better, that would bring her family back together' States Catherine💖
Cathrinne was meeting her daughters and introduding them to her latest fiancè 💕 .

Casie 'was going to be there. She was  always so supportive of everything Cathrine did'
Maria very close to Cathrine, more like family than her real one. She helped her learn Greek, helped her with baby Cassie and was now her cook and housekeeper but was so much more.
Finally we are introduced to the novel
That's when she started writing full time... her fame and novels had 'grown beyond her expectations'
Second time to have great family dinner'

Cassie tells them about her novel getting agent and publisher. Gives copy of novel to. Mum and sister.
Cassie wants her family approval. Adeline spends day with Stefanos but it turns to be a meal in restaurant 'it still surprised her that he'd brough a home here, rooted himself to a place he'd been so determined  to

I loved the different P.O.V of each individual characters and helps you see their very different ideas of beasts write and wrongs. I did however found it dragged at time.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for giving me a  complementary digital copy of this ebook in exchange for a full frank and   review. All opinions expres are completely my own.

I totally went into this book blind. After loving Sarah Morgans Christmas books I knew I would enjoy this I just didn’t know what to expect. I really enjoyed the character building and the tension in this book. Overall it was a romance but it kept me on the edge of my seat because I really needed to know more of Catherines history. The ending was beautiful, I now would like to live in Corfu please. The only negative I have is that sometimes the chapters are quite long but it didn’t put me off reading it.

Thoroughly enjoyed this darker romcom book. It's nice reading from the different characters perspectives, and the twists, amazing. All the characters were likeable and I enjoyed picturing the glorious views of Corfu.

What I was expecting from this book was not what I got, but I did get an enjoyable family drama (with a sprinkle of romance of course!). Set with a lovely back drop in Corfu, reading Summer Wedding made me feel like I was in the sunshine myself. This is a great book to pick up when you want some light reading and a little distraction from life.

A lovely heartwarming family story. Set on Corfu the descriptions of the island are breathtaking. Highly recommended.

I have relished every Sarah Morgan novel that I have read and this one is no different. Based on a Mum and her two daughters, the two siblings are invited to their Mum's fourth wedding and the book explores the time leading up to the wedding and the relationships between the three parties. It's hard-hitting and a sometimes difficult exploration of the relationships (especially between the two sisters) but ultimately a book that I will happily be recommending to others.

Another really enjoyable read from Sarah Morgan. I have never been disappointed by any of her novels. Great characters, a few surprises and lovely locations.

This was a really excellent read, the storyline flowing well, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Centred around Corfu the story rather twists and turns and like Catherine's efforts to keep her fourth husband secret until the last moment, the story has a great twist at the end. Yes it does have a happy ending but that does not make it a sloppy romcom.

I loved this book! Jumping between the narrative of a mum and her two daughters, we learn the impact of decisions made years ago on the daughters. A Perfect summer read.

This is a Summer romance story which is a gentle story with some twists. There was plenty of warmth from the writing and the location, which I enjoyed soaking up. This is an easy read about families, drama and skeletons in the cupboard. The characters are well-written and interesting, they certainly have plenty of insecurities and secrets between them.

Set on Corfu, Catherine Swift, a best-selling romance writer is getting married and her daughters are arriving to meet their future father. The two daughters, by different husbands, are very different in personality, Cassie the younger is excited about her Mother's news, she is a happy carefree girl who has a great relationship with her mother. Adelieine is not so pleased and can't believe her Mother is marrying for a fourth time. I liked the characters, even if they were a little needy and thought they were well-written,

I found the story very predictable, I guessed the plot very early on in the book and that lessened my enjoyment of it overall I think. Having said that, it is an easy read with plenty of drama in it.

Just a minute. There’s something different about Sarah Morgan’s new book ‘Summer Wedding’.
Alongside her trademark heady, uplifting storylines that roll like a steam train to satisfying conclusions, this latest novel harbours a dark undercurrent and it’s not what we expect from Morgan at all.

When your readers want certain things of you, that’s exactly the moment to weave in something new – and Morgan has done this skillfully using her cosy, heartfelt charm. It also parallels Morgan’s heroine, bestselling novelist Catherine Swift, who herself decides to depart from a lifetime of writing romance, to writing crime.

‘Summer Wedding’, set on the Greek island of Corfu, promises the sun-soaked read the title suggests: Catherine has invited her daughters, half-sisters Adeline, 30, a clinical psychologist and magazine agony aunt and Cassie, 22, an Oxford graduate, to her villa for her fourth wedding but omits to reveal who she is marrying until they arrive – and when they find out it’s fair to say that that’s when the story really gets going.

Read any of Morgan’s books and you’ll be met with strong familial ties, fiercely protected friendships and of course, romance. Themes of love and trust are explored in overflowing, chatty detail; secrets are discovered; characters squabble and forgive.

Told through the eyes of Catherine and her daughters, this story is about a mother who harbours a dark secret and two daughters who, for most of their lives, grew up apart. Cassie was raised by Catherine in Corfu; Adeline, first by Catherine and then by her dad, Andrew, in Cape Cod. Adeline has no idea why she was suddenly sent away. What does a split family do to you personally, to the family, in your ability to trust in relationships? Having suffered a trauma, how much of the past can you truly leave behind? How much of the past do you bring to your present-day self?

The title suggests a heartwarming read but while there’s a comfortable plot and romance (yes, broad-shouldered Stefanos has brawn as well as a successful IT-business-boat building brain) and long sun-baked days are punctuated with swimming in a ‘shimmering turquoise and silver’ sea, ‘Summer Wedding’ is not frivolously light. The three protagonists are rounded, flawed and full of a bucket load of anxiety like the rest of us, hiding in fictional worlds in their heads instead of facing up to complex emotions. How love differs and changes is shown through the relationships these characters have.

The theme of female empowerment is also present urging characters to have the confidence to make choices and take responsibility for them.

Also enjoyable is the novel’s sense of place. Shifting to a Mediterranean setting from California’s big skies and rolling ocean coastline that has worked so well for Morgan in the past, descriptive vignettes pepper the story. ‘…the scents of wild herbs and garlic sizzled in olive oil’, ‘bougainvillea spilled from terracotta pots, providing a dazzle of color against the sunbaked paths.’ Honestly, as most of us can’t afford a holiday this year, perhaps read this instead?

Morgan excels in emotional awareness and writes with compassion, possessing a writer’s knack for making it look so easy. Full of warmth and wisdom, this is a tender, insightful story that’s also wonderfully fun to read.

A lovely feel good story - some difficult content but an uplifting ending.

Catherine Swift, a romance author, is about to be married for the fourth time. She is counting on this wedding in Corfu to bring her family together, to allow her to rebuild her relationship with her elder daughter. After the initial shock of the mystery groom the girls, Cassie and Adeline, learn about their mother’s past and have to rethink their understanding of her actions and decisions.

Both have to face why they make the decisions they do and their view of love.

Well worth reading.

Adeline and Cassie are half sisters who don’t really get on. Adeline was sent to live with her father in England when Cassie was still a toddler. They are both surprised to receive an invitation to their mother’s fourth wedding on Corfu. Adeline doesn’t intend going and throws her invitation in the bin. She changes her mind after her father persuades her to go.
Catherine, their mum, is a writer of romantic fiction and this book is a very easy romantic read with a happy ending for everyone.
