Set on the island of Corfu a summer wedding explores complicated family life, secrets and love. Catherine Swift is getting married for the 4th time, one daughter Adeline is sceptical and Cassie is a hopeless romantic, the sisters don’t have a relationship & really couldn’t be any different, Adeline doesn’t have a relationship with her mother after being sent away at to live with her Dad whilst Catherine stayed with her then husband Rob and their daughter (Cassie)

Who is Catherine marrying this time, why all the secrecy and can the sisters build a relationship?

I didn’t dislike the book but it took me a while to get through, I had to motivate myself to pick it up. A strong 3.5

Thank you for sending me this ARC. I am enjoying Sarah's move towards exploring more deeply family and friends relationships rather than purely romantic. That said I did miss some of the spice and 'details' of her previous stories.
I read this in 2 days and it was a great companion in this lovely sunny weather we are having.

This is the perfect summer read, delightful and heartwarming, but with a level of emotion within it that I for one didn’t expect as a first time reader of Thomas’ books, and which made it all the more special.

Following the end of her marriage, Beca decides to make some big changes in her life, sells her cleaning company and moves back to the small Pembrokeshire coastal town where she grew up. Buying her dream home and planning to foster children, she finds much has changed in the town – most significantly, her family’s ice cream café is now a wine bar. Re-establishing herself in the community, starting a new business and dealing with two foster children presents her with challenges she never expected!

Thomas draws such a vivid picture of the setting and the community that it became a place I longed to visit. The cast of characters is wholly engaging and I fell in love with Beca and rooted for her happy ending as she fought to find herself whilst at the same time supporting two boys who had already faced so many challenges in life. And gosh did I want to try her gelato!

It’s a book that’s a delightful bit of escapism with a heart and one to add to your summer reading list!

A great summer read. The story is set in Corfu and you will feel like you are on a trip to Greece as the story unfolds.

Another great summer read by Sarah Morgan. I am yet to be disappointed by any of her books.
You are taken on a trip to Greece, for a wedding that will be life changing for all the family.
You can almost feel the Greek sun on your face as you read this. Full of secrets and truths, as well as self discovery. Characters developed really well throughout and the ending was exactly what I had hoped for.

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Catherine has three marriages behind her and these have left her relationship with her daughters strained. Engaged again Catherine is hoping this wedding will bring her family closer together. The wedding is being held in her villa in Corfu. Catherine’s daughter Adeline can’t believe she is getting married again apor that she is expected to attend, this starts to bring back memories that she would rather forget. Her half-sister Cassie is thrilled that her mother is remarrying and is excited to meet her future step father. They both get the shock of their life when they discover the man her mom is about to marry is Adeline’s father. Catherine reveals secrets for her last that make her daughters realise that they don’t know their mother as all.

Morgan’s new novel is a frothy mother and daughter relationship that is disenfranchised to say the least. The relationship is interesting and although this is a real page turner, it has a comfortable feeling within its plot that reminds me of baked bread baking and Hallmark romance films on a Sunday afternoon.

This is not a con but a huge pro because this is a perfect summer beach read that keeps the reader invested and smiling to the end. There is enough in the plot to keep the pages turning and when you finish, the reader is sure to have a knowing smile across their face.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and enjoy reading Morgan books regularly.

‘Adeline read the words, and then read them again. Married? Married? Her mother was getting married for a fourth time?’

Adeline, clinical psychologist and writer of a hugely successful advice column cannot believe her mother is getting married..again! Her mother Catherine Swift is a highly successful romance writer but all is not well in the world of romance, Catherine has plans which will shock her readers.
Adeline, it seems can’t stand her mother and really doesn’t want to go to the wedding. On the other hand Cassie, her half sister is really excited by the news and looks forward to returning to Corfu. But none of them are prepared for the secrets and pain that will be revealed as they gather on Corfu for a wedding.

‘It’s time she modelled herself on one of her heroines.’

I really loved this book, yes it’s romance but never write off a romance. They often deal with some really difficult themes and Summer Wedding is no exception. Morgan deals with these deftly and sensitively and it really works in the story.
The mystery groom, I had already worked out but it was fun to read the reactions of Adeline and Cassie, it’s a little bit of an understatement to say they are both knocked for six! The fallout conversation was written so well and I loved how the sisters drew together.

‘Men so often hold the power, but not this time.’

I really loved how the author wove in the experience of being an author to the story, I felt it really added to the narrative - conversations cannot be deleted, how a chart position can affect you, it was a very revealing insight I thought.

‘The idea of being paid to do what she loved was exciting, until she’d figured out that her advance would only cover her rent and food for two months.’

Although there are tough themes to negotiate, there is also love and hope and it will make your heart sing and long for the Sun of Corfu!

I’m definitely going to be reading more Sarah Morgan books!

What a fantastic book. I loved it. Catherine Swift lives in her villa in Corfu, she’s a successful romance writer. She invites both her daughters to her 4th wedding.
Adeline, the eldest daughter, can’t believe her mum is getting married again. She’s not sure whether to attend or not as she has a strained relationship with her mum and seeing her always brings back troubled memories of her mothers affair and the baby that was the result.
Cassie though is thrilled and can’t wait to meet her mums soon to be husband.
The visit doesn’t turn out quite as expected - new secrets are shared. Do either of them really know their mum?

Aww, this book was super sweet.

With Catherine set to remarry for the 4th time, she invites her two daughters (one of which she's close to, the other she's almost estranged from & the two of them don't speak between themselves) to her wedding on the island of Corfu. Once they arrive, there are plenty of surprises in store which has the potential to break or build the bonds.

It was a lovely portrayal of family ties & how deep they can run. It was also a great take on people's directional paths & how or why they might want to change them, showing that life is never a straight forward line but fully of wibbly ones instead.

I really connected with the story & the characters (especially the daughters, Adeline & Cassie), so it felt easy to get stuck in to the story & root for positive outcomes. The setting was also beautifully descriptive & made me want to visit Greece even more than I already did!

'Summer Wedding' is a great & enjoyable summer read.

Thank you to NetGalley, Sarah Morgan & HQ for allowing me to read & review the ARC of 'Summer Wedding'; all views are honest & my own.

What a fab book!
I always love how Sarah Morgan’s novels have a big focus on family and familial relationships, as well as romantic ones. The family dynamics in this novel were definitely complicated but I loved how it all played out.
The three main female characters were all so strong and inspiring, whilst also being very human and flawed. It was such a great read, with a mysterious element lurking about the past. The setting was beautiful too and made me dream of being in Greece!

Thanks to Netgalley and HQ for this E-arc.

What an absolutely perfect read for this time of year - I devoured Summer Wedding over a day sat in my garden soaking up the sunshine.

Beautifully written, full of romance with little twists thrown in here and there I just loved this latest offering from Sarah Morgan.

The family dynamics take centre stage and Morgan has created some fabulous characters in the Swift family and their friends. By the end you feel you know them and I loved how their relationships all develop throughout the story.

I am quite a hopeless romantic at heart so I was left with happy tears in my eyes as I turned the last page.

A wonderful read for the summer.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 from me.

Half sisters Adeline and Cassie have received invitations to their mum Catherine's  wedding but they dont know who her new fiancee is!

The girls have different feelings about this wedding: Cassie is pleased for her mum and is looking forward to the wedding in Corfu and, hopefully, it will be an opportunity to reconnect with her estranged older sister.  Adeline is more cautious, she has seen her Mum hurt before and how she also hurt her father... this is her fourth wedding after all!

I found the storyline a little predictable and I guessed the main twists. However. It is am enjoyable feel-good summer read.

What a lovely book. Seemed slightly different to some of her previous books but I loved it. I didn't think I would take to Catherine, however as the book went on I totally changed. There was a lot more to this book than you first think. Brilliantly written. Would recommend to All.

Summer wedding is a beautiful book about the importance of family bonds.
When Catherine sends wedding invitations to both her daughters who she has very different relationships with they are met with very different responses.
Both Adeline and Cassie travel to Corfu for the wedding and never expected their strained relationship to take the turn it does.
Both learning about love and family values this a fantastic summer read which will make you keep on reading until the end.
Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of Sarah’s gorgeous summer read.

This book has three strong female characters who are likeable but at times annoying. As the story unfolds you learn of their backstories and why they are the way they are. The fact that the book is set in Corfu helps to lighten the mood and lets you dream of hot sunny days by the coast. I found the book slightly predictable however I still enjoyed it and would recommend.

This is just the summer read you need!

A story set on Corfu, with chapters alternating between mother Catherine Swift and her daughters Adeline and Cassie. This gave the book a wonderful flow and we really got to know these strong, relatable characters.

Albeit a bit predictive, I thoroughly enjoyed my second book by Sarah Morgan. I shall come back for more.

A predicatable but good read. It was fairly easy to see where the story was leading but this gave a sense of being "in with" the main characters. It was good to see the relationships develop and ebb and flow..

Who could not enjoy a romance set on a sunny isle and delight in character rebuilding broken relationships.

I absolutely love a Sarah Morgan book and this one did not disappoint. I loved it. I love the setting of Corfu and could imagine being there swimming with Stefano!! I really loved all of the characters and just wanted to envelop every single one of them in a hug for different reasons. Even with the fact this book had a tough back story it felt like a very inspiring, positive read. It was just lovely! Yet another book by this author that I adore. Simply brilliant. 100% recommend!

Morgan's latest novel follows three main female characters (always a good start - Girl Power!): Catherine, a middle-aged romance writer embarking on a new marriage and a new genre of writing; Adeline, Catherine's eldest daughter and self-proclaimed emotional rock; and Cassie, Catherine's youngest daughter, aspiring writer and hopeless romantic falling for all her mother's seemingly impulsive acts in the name of true love. Adeline is less than thrilled about her mother's fourth marriage, while Cassie supports her unwaveringly. They both head to Corfu for the wedding anyway, and secrets begin leaking out.
I found this book difficult to get into. For me, the start was too slow, with extended flashbacks giving us perhaps unnecessary information about the characters' backgrounds. I felt this would have been better explored as the characters arrived on the island, even if it just gave me the sunny setting I was craving a bit sooner!
What I did like though, was the narrative viewpoint changing between the three main characters. I always enjoy different viewpoints and it gave me time to get to know each of them. Adeline's feisty and firm attitude was probably the most relatable, and I liked that she developed throughout the novel as she let herself sink into island life.
My main criticism with this novel, however, is its genre. To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure what genre Morgan was aiming for here. Based on the cover, I was expecting a summery, cheesy romance, but it's not romantically-focused enough for that. However, based on the blurb I was expecting more of a thriller, but the secrecy wasn't really intense or unpredictable enough to be a decent thriller or drama. I think a few more conversations between editors and marketing might be necessary for Sarah Morgan's next novel.
All in all, a character-driven family feud built into some stunning scenery, but not compelling enough.
