My son (9) and I love this series of books so we were over the moon when we saw that it was available on Netgalley. We read it together and adored it. We are a family of bird lovers so this book was right up our street. We love the important message about birds, their habitats, and nature but also the theme of friendship which is so strong in this book. We cannot wait to see if there will be more books in this series.

I love this series and this was a great new addition!.

Twitch, Jack and their friends are once more involved in solving a mystery when precious birds' eggs start to go missing from the nature reserve where they live. A fishing competition has brought lots of mysterious strangers to the town and they have to work out which of them is the thief.

It was a really well plotted story with enough clues that you could work out who had done it but lots of red herrings to keep it interesting. I loved the relationships between Twitch and his friends - there were very realistic squabbles and disagreements between them but ultimately they all supported each other and worked together to protect the eggs.

M.G. Leonard is clearly really knowledgeable about birds and her knowledge was cleverly woven into the story so you learned about them as you went along, but also left you wanting to go and find out more about them.

A really great series; something very unique and interesting!

M G Leonard can do no wrong in the eyes of my children, and this latest installment in the Twitchers series is no exception! Twitch and his best friend Jack have been keeping an eye on a Peregrine nest, but one day they realise the eggs are gone. Who has taken them.....and how can the Twitchers catch them and bring them to justice?

I love Leonard's unique and inspired mash up of wildlife passion with crime mystery thriller. She has such an brilliant imagination, and is truly prolific!

Yes another smart bird related mystery for the Twitchers to solve, this time involving the theft of birds eggs by unscrupulous collectors. The plot is well thought out, with a good cast of suspects, clues, and investigation all working perfectly. Twitch and Jack are great characters, their skills complementing each other and developing as the series progresses. I really love the underlying conservation messages included in each of these novels, and in this one the threats to rare species is merged with the detective story particularly well. This is such a great series and I can't wait till the next one.

I thoroughly enjoyed Clutch. Great KS2 book for nature loving dectectives out there. I'll be recommending this to children at my school.
I enjoyed the mix of characters in the friendship group and the pair of pranksters who gave comic moments. The storyline was great with a fantastic balance between birdwatching and sleuthing. There is a lovely relationship in the understanding and empathy for nature in Twitch and the way he influences his friends. His friends investigate all the egg thief suspects and it keeps you guessing. This will really hook in lots of young readers. It also gave me a personal feeling of nostalgia as I remember my cousin birdwatching and collecting broken eggshells when birds had fledged. I've even ordered my own replica eggs from the information at the back.

Queen of the birds, Maya Leonard, swoops in with another pitch-perfect instalment in this sparkling series that just gets better and better and better.

Spring has arrived in Briddvale bringing with it blossoming flowers, warmer days and the return of migrating birds. Twitch is incredibly excited to observe the peregrine falcons that are nesting on Passerine Pike, anxiously waiting for the chicks to hatch. Disaster strikes when the eggs are stolen. An egg thief is on the prowl, the police are involved and everyone is under suspicion, including Twitch. With more eggs in danger, can Twitch and the gang bring down the egg thief…

After solving two dangerous crimes and bringing criminals to justice, the crime-fighting, mystery-solving, bird-watching Twitchers are back in another highly appealing, incredibly intriguing and egg-citing whodunnit. The stakes are higher than ever this time, not only are precious eggs under threat but the very future of the The Twitchers and their hide in Aves Wood all hang precariously in the balance as a police inspector with tunnel vision has Twitch firmly in her crosshairs.

High drama, dangerous adventure and nighttime stakeouts ramp up the tension and jeopardy in this fast-paced, cleverly plotted and brilliantly written mystery that will keep you guessing and perched on the edge of your nest. With red-herrings, twists, numerous suspects, alibis, motives and allegations, it has everything readers could want.

The Twitchers are such a joyous group to spend time with and their shared love of nature, wonderful moral code, blossoming friendships and fierce resolve to look out for each other are all delightful. With someone trying to frame Twitch, and willing to go to any lengths to cast suspicion on him, the friends have to come together like never before. These resourceful, observant and clue-hunting environmentalists will do anything to protect one of their own.

A glorious celebration of nature and birds in particular, Leonard and The Twitchers implore us all to protect local wildlife and raise issues around declining bird populations and the sad consequences of eggs stolen by eggers and overly keen oologists. Twitch and co teach readers about the need to care for nature and the environment, and to be conscious about making a difference in the here and now and the importance of looking after animals and the planet for future generations.

A thrilling springtime mystery! I cannot wait to see what summertime brings to Briddvale.

Recommended for 8+.

With huge thanks to Walker for the copy I received in exchange for an honest review.

Absolutely brilliant adventure with Twitch and the gang. The level of peril has increased once again, but it's such a fantastic story. Really enjoyed this and I know my 10-year-old will love it too.

I love, love, love this twitch series from MG Leonard! Clutch is the third book in the Twitchers series and the series follows the adventures of a group of young birdwatchers who solve mysteries and protect wildlife. In Clutch, the Twitchers are on the case when a peregrine falcon's nest is raided and the eggs are stolen. The Twitchers must use all their skills to track down the thief and save the eggs.

Clutch is a fast-paced and exciting mystery that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. The Twitchers are a likable and relatable group of characters, and readers will root for them as they solve the mystery. The book also features a strong environmental message about the importance of protecting wildlife.

Clutch is a great book for readers who love mysteries, birdwatching, and adventure. It is also a great choice for readers who are interested in learning more about environmental issues. I highly recommend Clutch to anyone who is looking for a fun and exciting read. - Honestly I’m a very big fan! so much so that I’ve ordered this third book as a signed copy as well!

This is another great book by MG Leonard and this is the 3rd book in the twitchers series.
In this book Jack and the other twitchers try to catch an egg thief in their town.
My favorite character in this book was Jack because he seemed kind.
The book kept me guessing right to the end who the thief was and because if this I couldn't put it down.
I would recommend this book for children age 9 plus,
(Thanks to Net Galley for this Book).

There's an egg thief in Aves Wood, The Twitchers realise that all the nesting brids and their future chicks are in grave danger when the peregrine falcon nest is raided, Twitch is horrified and quickly hatches a plan to catch the thief. Can the Twitchers save the birds and stop a thief who will stop at nothing before someone gets hurt?

This the third installment in the 'Twithcers' series and what an addition! The series is growing stronger with every new book. The relationships between the children are evolving beautifully in front of us and are still given the same careful attention by M.G. Leonard - with a cast of characters such as 'Clutch' this is no mean feat!
I don't want to give any spoilers but know that you will race through the book, feel heartbroken and outraged for our heroes and the birds and Aves Wood but all will be well in the end :)
'Clutch' is the perfect Spring read and a great way to raise awarness about the need to look after the natural world.

I loved the first books in this series, Twitch and Spark, and new installment Clutch is every bit as fun.

After some tension in the group in Spark, we begin Clutch with friendships cemented and the gang united (if you exclude Pamela’s continued pranks on Terry for her YouTube channel – a very funny sideline throughout the book!)

But while friendships might now be safe, nearby eggs, are not – there’s an egg thief in town and when Twitch himself becomes a suspect it becomes even more urgent to find the real culprit!

As full of red herrings and wrong turns as you’d expect, with the extra jeopardy of Twitch’s possible banning from Aves Wood if the gang can’t prove his innocence, this is another gripping whodunnit!

The eventual unmasking of the villain feels like a scene Mystery Inc would be proud of and the whole thing races along and takes us with it, regardless of whether that takes the form of joining the Twitchers in their shock and confusion at all the wrong turns, or shouting at them to consider/do/think ‘x’ to avoid one!

This is such a fab series, with a great group of characters and brilliant dynamics between them, and a pitch perfect balance of humour, mystery, tension and environmental themes. I can’t wait for whatever M G Leonard treats us to next!

Absolutely loved this 3rd book in the Twitchers series and I think it is the best yet. This time it is Spring and Twitch and his gang have to stop egg thieves and find out who is stealing the rare birds eggs. Along the way, we get to see more of the strong friendships developing which was one of my favourite things about the book and see Twitch get into trouble but I won't spoil it for you! As a reader I loved how I kept changing my mind about who the thief was and I kept getting clues along the way.

Having read the previous two titles in the Twitchers series I was really excited to read this one and see what adventures the group of nature loving friends encountered next. It took me a little longer to get into this book than the previous two but the story was full of twists and really built up the suspense. Would recommend to confident readers 7+ and would be a great book to read as whole class reader. Thank you to Net Galley for the ARC.

What a satisfying read and yet another triumph for MG Leonard. I'm full of admiration for her ability to raise the profile of the plight of nature and to educate us all with new vocabulary - oology is definitely a word I'll be sharing with everyone.
This is the third adventure for Twitch. What could be more pleasurable than awaiting the arrival of new chicks during springtime for Twitch, Jack and their flock of bird-watching friends? Can they outwit the egg thief before any of the other precious eggs are stolen? Nature, wildlife and crime fighting all rolled into one amazing book which I can't wait to share with the children at school. A definite addition to our must read list which can enjoyed by adults and child alike.

Spring has arrived in Briddvale. The bluebells are emerging, the swallows are on their way home and the Twitchers are buzzing with excitement for nesting season.

They've been watching the peregrine falcons, anxiously waiting for their fluffy chicks to hatch in the nest on the cliff.

But disaster has struck. Someone has stolen the peregrine eggs!

As more and more nests get emptied of eggs, The Twitchers must now solve the mystery of the egg thief...

Clutch is a wonderful third instalment to a perfect series.

Not only is this series incredibly fun and charming, it is also full of interesting nature facts & explores some really important issues that threaten bird populations.

A big thank you to Walker Books for sending me a review copy - and NetGalley for a DRC - and a big happy publication day to Clutch by M.G.Leonard!

Another brilliant book by MG Leonard that will keep readers guessing until the end, Clutch is a must read for fans of the series but also could be read as a standalone.

The Twitchers soon discover there’s new trouble in town when bird eggs start disappearing. Who is the culprit? With the Canal Masters competition about to begin, there’s a lot of new suspects to add to the list, but being a known bird enthusiast himself, Twitch soon finds himself under investigation. Can the Twitchers solve the mystery to save the birds and their best friend in time?

I love how MG Leonard weaves wildlife and crime together so seamlessly to create this wonderful series. She conveys important messages about protecting wildlife and the environment and I always come away having learned something new - she’s right, oology is very satisfying to say!

I really really love this series, Twitch and Jack are so damn adorable. I love them both so much and I always love the mystery element. The friend group is so sweet and supportive and I always enjoy that aspect of it.

The Twitchers series by M.G. Leonard goes from strength to strength. Clutch, the third adventure, finds the gang back together again. There are peregrine falcons nesting on Passerine Pike. When their eggs are stolen, the mystery begins, police are involved and everyone’s a suspect!

The Twitchers are determined to find the thief and stop them from stealing any more eggs. A rare pair of Spoonbills nesting on the edge of the pond makes their mission even more urgent. Twitch loves birds so much: he can’t bare to think of anything happening to them. So when he comes under scrutiny, he doesn’t know where to turn. Can Twitch and his friends get themselves out of trouble and save the precious creatures of Aves Woods?

Just like Twitch and Spark, Clutch is so readable. I sat down with the intention of reading the first few chapters and soon found myself half-way through, unable to put it down. With heart-stopping moments and true edge-of-your-seat jeopardy, there’s no telling where the story is going until the very end.

The combination of incredibly likeable characters, a celebration of nature and classic mystery creates an engaging series children are sure to love. These books are brilliant for reading aloud at home or in any Key Stage Two classroom. Independent readers will devour them and eagerly look forward to the next adventure. I really recommend investing in all three books for school and class libraries. There is so much value in reading them for pleasure as well as the educational value in learning about birds, their eggs and their habitats. Soon we’ll be overrun with budding ornithologists and oologists!

I am such a fan of M. G. Leonard. We already use Twitch in our school as a whole class book for Year 5 and we have Spark in their book corner. I love Twitch and his friends and the way they stick up for each other. In this book, Twitch is accused of a crime that is completely horrific to him and his friends do everything they possibly can to support him and find out who the actual culprits are. I love the detective work, intermingled with the facts about nature and birds. I'm so glad I got to review this and that I got to go back to Aves Wood. Clutch will definitely be coming to our Year 5 book corner once it's released.
