Thank you netgalley and publishers for this book!

This is an absolutely delightful and fun read! A real mess of a character in Amy but she is lovable in every way. Dare I say she is real to so many of us at one point or another in our lives.

Can not say enough yet the book leaves me just feeling so much that I don’t have enough words to actually put here.

A must read for all.

4 stars!

"The Sweetest Revenge" is the first book by Lizzy Dent that I have read. I cannot wait to read her back catalog because I enjoyed the hell out of this book! This story is the perfect summer read! It is laugh-out-loud hilarious, light and fun, messy and drama-filled, and even surprisingly sweet at times. I loved all of the characters, but I particularly liked the main character Amy. She is strong, ambitious, and determined, but has also been wounded by life and love. After an unfortunate series of incidents involving her boss/ex-boyfriend Chris, his car, and a video of her that went viral, Amy fled New York for London and now works at a new company cutting up footage to make TV trailers. Her new neighbor, Jack, was just kicked off one of the hottest reality shows on television. As their relationship slowly develops, they begin working together to co-create a script so he can get his foot in the door of the industry and so she can get a new position at work. Unfortunately, Chris shows up out of nowhere and is now working for Amy's company. The best aspects and moments of this story involve Amy, Jake, and their ever-evolving friendship. As they slowly get to know one another, they uncover things about each other, and themselves, that they didn't know. Amy and Jake both have their flaws and make mistakes (to varying degrees). They always take accountability and grow from their transgressions. I thought they had incredible chemistry as characters! I found Jake to be absolutely swoon-worthy as an MMC. I absolutely loathed Chris so, so much. That's just how well-written he is! I certainly wanted to slap Amy a couple of times during the book because she should have had so many more red flags about him having dated him!! I also enjoyed the TV show/network setting, as well as all of the television quotes and references to all things TV. It felt very relevant and seamlessly integrated into the story.

Trust me, you're going to want to read "The Sweetest Revenge." It is a breeze to read, and it will keep you invested from start to finish! I certainly couldn't put it down. Way to go, Lizzy Dent!

Thank you to NetGalley, Lizzy Dent, and PENGUIN GROUP Putnam, G.P. Putnam's Sons for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.

I've read from Lizzy Dent before, so I was excited to give this one a chance. I didn't regret it.

After a disastrous night two years ago that tanked her TV producer career, Amy moved to London. She's trying to live her best life, even if she isn't that happy right now. But after a run-in with her new hot neighbour gives her an opportunity to win a competition at work, Amy decides to give it her all. As she starts to develop feelings for Jake, her ex-boyfriend turns back up, and now it's more important than ever for Amy to prove herself.

I do love a good chick-lit/rom-com novel. This one definitely read more chick-lit to me, and I enjoyed that. Amy was an interesting character, even if I wanted to shake her sometimes, and I enjoyed following her journey of finding herself again.

The romance helped that along, and it was pretty cute. But I also adored her family dynamics. They hurt a little at first as she was so distant with them. But as they grew closer again, it was lovely.

This book was so easy to read. I enjoyed seeing Amy and Jake come up with their stories, and I found the competition and TV aspect really interesting. Usually, you don't see this side in as much detail in books, so that was fun. It's definitely something I'd like to read more of.

Overall, I had a great time with this book, and I 100% recommend it!

This book was a fun read. Despite being a mess, Amy Duffy is lovable and you can help but wish the best for her.

I want to be Amy's friend!

Amy goes through a breakup... and some embarrassing breakup aftermath.... so she runs away to London. Kicking butt at her new job but ready to make a jump to the next level and a hottie moves in next door... all is going great! UNTIL the dreaded Ex shows up in town.

This is a fun story about how strong, funny, determined and driven Amy is and how having to face her ex makes her face everything else she has been running away from and avoiding in an effort to avoid future embarrassment.

2.5 stars rounded up! Amy Duffy was at the top of her game when she lost it all because of a man - TWICE! Revenge the first time consisted of Amy taking a literal piss on her lover’s car and being videotaped doing it. Said video goes viral and it all goes downhill from there. Read Amy’s uphill battle, where she truly does get the sweetest revenge, in the pages of this book.

This was my first Lizzy Dent book, and although I won’t rule her out just yet, I was a little disappointed in the urination story that kept replaying as well as with the lack of chemistry between Amy and Jake - they clearly liked each other but the story of them actually getting together was lacking in build up.

Overall, easy, light read but if you aren’t a major Lizzy Dent fan or aren’t bothered by a lack of chemistry then skip this one.

Cue a horribly embarrassing drunken viral video and the cascade of events afterwards. Amy Duffy runs away to hide from it all only to have it catch up with her across the pond. Will she be able to put the past behind her and find herself again? She sure will try. I really enjoyed this one from Lizzy Dent who gave us another hot and endearing male MC. I found her hang ups on the past to be quite frustrating…as I didn’t find the viral video in question to be all that bad so I struggled to empathize with how hung up on it she was. The revenge was quite sweet and worth getting to!

This was a cute, sweet and fun rom-com, perfect for indulging during a beach/pool day. This is a lighthearted story about how a woman takes the sweetest revenge against an old boss/lover. Thank you to the author, G. P. Putnam’s Sons and NetGalley for my arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

Another fun rom-com from Lizzy Dent who does not disappoint. Her writing is fun, witty, and you can't help but root for Amy Duffy, the likable main character who flees the US in embarrassment, to start anew in London. There she embarks on a new role, meets Jake, and can't escape her past. A fun, lighthearted read! Thanks to NetGalley for the advance copy in exchange for a fair review. 3/5

WOW, Amy, our FMC, was a hot mess in this book and I was living for it. She was hilarious, driven, talented, and so messy at times I got secondhand embarrassment in the best way. I loved her.

The story starts with Amy going viral two years ago after an embarrassing video of her was posted online after her and her ex got into a huge fight. Two years later, Amy is living in London after fleeing NYC and is rebuilding her career after disastrous video. She teams up with Jake, an aspiring screen writer, in order to build herself back up and show her ex up in order to land a new position at work.

The plot was fun and so entertaining as Amy and Jake worked together forming a screenplay. Their relationship was a nice slow burn as Amy didn't want to make the same mistake of dating a co-worker again, but their banter and the way they worked so well together was so sweet.

A perfect and fun read for the summer!

THE SWEETEST REVENGE - LIZZY DENT
3.5⭐

PLOT - Amy after a disastrous night of drunken revenge on her ex boss and boyfriend moves to London for a fresh start where she is making trailors. One day she bumps into her handsome neighbour Jake a writer whose career hasn't taken off when they work together they get closer but Amy's ex has come back as new boss. Will they finally get their dues.
This was cute book where I really enjoyed some parts esp Amy and Jake working together how they helped each other in their field of writing and producing. The romance however felt flat for me . A good one time read.
Thank you @netgalley and publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

I think this is my favorite Lizzy Dent book yet. I really enjoyed Amy's comeback and misadventures. Her friends and coworkers were so fun and added a lot to this story. This is a great summer read.

The Sweetest Revenge was cute with great banter. I do wish the romance felt more developed, it was lacking a true emotional connection between the main characters. And the revenge felt a little rushed it happened so late in the story. Even with that, this was was still an enjoyable and easy read.

⭐️ 4.5/5 | 🌶️ 1/5

I am a sucker for a book set in the U.K., but a book about an American fleeing her problems across the pond? Sold.

The way this book held my attention with very little spice or steam was incredible. Truly. I made it to 94% before realizing our MCs hadn’t even kissed yet. And I was here 👏 for 👏 it 👏

Amy Duffy is your quintessential book heroin in many ways - quirky, fun, and bright. But she’s also a shell of herself after a brutal and public humiliation and watching her rebuild that part of her life was a joy.

Jake made brash decisions out of grief, in many ways similarly to Amy, that he’s dealing with the consequences of from almost day one. He is a refreshingly honest almost country boy (from Wales, mind you) who is almost a little eclipsed by Amy and her big city dreams. What Amy quickly realizes is that she needs him as much as he needs her.

This story kept me so entertained I was almost sad to see it close out. However, the ending did some poetic justice to the first chapter that made my epilogue-shy romance heart Uber happy.

What a great read for a summer Saturday!

This was a decent romcom binge! I read the entire book in a day.

I found I really liked a lot of the side characters (Jake’s mom, Amy’s dad, Amy’s friend Maggie—even the landlord). I also found a lot of Amy’s actions relatable. Going to the grocery store and buying one frozen meal and a bottle of wine? Been there. Doing that so often the cashier knows who you are? Also been there. Buying a kiddie pool to cool off in the summer because there’s no real pool available to you? I have one sitting in my backyard as I write this.

Though I enjoyed some of the character of Amy, sometimes I felt like we didn’t truly know her. I felt there was a lot of telling us how she felt, when she didn’t really show that feeling herself. It wasn’t until over halfway through the book she had any sort of real conversation with any of her family members, which didn’t feel right to me when she kept telling Jake she missed them. As readers, we didn’t understand why she didn’t just pick up the phone (except that she felt shame, which was mentioned altogether too many times to mean anything). Her family obviously likes her and wants to keep in contact with her, and it felt more like she was ignoring them for spite than anything else.

I also felt like we didn’t fully understand Amy’s motivations when she literally took credit for Jake’s work on the script. She said it was because she was thinking of Jake and was doing it for both of them, but it felt very sketchy. And she knew it was sketchy and still did it. It just didn’t seem like a proper explanation, when up until that point we thought she did it out of spite against Chris.

I felt this book was a bit longer than it needed to be, and the plot seemed to drag on and on. It was still a good binge, and I would recommend if you’re looking for a comedic summer read!

As someone who hates both bridesmaids and emily in paris, it was definitely the London setting that drew me in to request this one 🤣 and you know what, it did not disappoint. I loved following along Amy's journey from the hot mess express to rolling with the punches and trying her darndest. Also her meet cute and overall friendship with Jake. Loved him, such a cinnamon roll! All the chemistry and banter and sweeter moments really making me root for them from the beginning. While the ending wrap up seemed a little rushed, this was all in all a perfect vacation read, living vicariously through Amy's London adventures, and can't wait to get back across the pond!

I really enjoyed THE SWEETEST REVENGE. I think it's the perfect summer read. It has an interesting plot, a slow burn romance, it didn't feel frustrating (like when there is a huge miscommunication and the characters don't talk), it was funny, and it had nice pacing. The characters are instantly relatable. I immediately felt for Amy. She felt very real and was not without her flaws, so I wasn't always on her side, but was still routing for her. Definitely worth the read!

The opening chapter was hilarious, and instantly had me intrigued. But as the story played, I became bogged down in Amy's inner monologue of something that happened more than two-years. The fact she walked away from her family, never looking back even with their constant begging for her to come home didn't land well in the read.

The Sweetest Revenge started strong but lost its way quickly. I would've wanted more romance with the neighbor and less revenge on ex which happened way to late in the story. A bit more love story would've made this romance more believable.

Thank you PENGUIN GROUP Putnam, G.P. Putnam's Sons for the complimentary copy.

Today is also release day for Liszt Dent for The Sweetest Revenge. I listened to this book on @prhaudio and it was the perfect summer audiobook. I know some don’t love reading about second-hand embarssment, but I eat that up because it makes the characters to relatable. Some times, we do encounter career setbacks, messy breakups, and humilating mistakes. Watching Amy relocated to London to rebuild her life was a JOY. Her British coworkers were hilarious and supportive, and when her new swoony cinnamon roll neighbor agrees to work with her on a writing project sparks FLY. With a complete tool of an ex (who becomes her boss), it was easy to root for Amy’s comeback and hard-earned HEA. Amazing witty banter, and Jake was incredibly swoon worthy. Brittany Presley was a phenomenal narrator and he r accents were incredible!
