Full of mystery and intrigue, a cracking book for hooking in those reluctant boy readers (but equally as good for girls) The type of book you want/need to devour in one sitting.

This book is brilliant and I really loved reading it! The magic tricks are so clever and I love how Flick and Charlie work together to solve the clues. The talking lift is very funny - I wish I had one in my house! The book is also really clever because there are lots of mysteries to solve all at the same time and the ending was amazing!! It’s also really good that Flick has a disability but this doesn’t stop her from being determined and a great role model. I’m going to recommend this book to all my friends because I think it’s fun, exciting and of course magical!!
(Thanks to Net Galley for this Book).

I definitely recommend reading the first book in the series immediately before reading this sequel (I had read it but it was a while ago so my memory of it was somewhat fuzzy)
This sequel picks up with the Great Fox needing Flick and Charlie to represent him in a competition. In order to keep the mystery of the bell system safe, they must beat the other apprentices, but can the Fox himself be trusted? Flick is more interested in finally locating her missing father.
The story takes some twists and turns and secrets are gradually revealed as it goes.
There’s more magic to solve, and the methods of the tricks are revealed in the story which is certainly interesting.
If you like the first book, definitely read this one too!

It's a magician's job to make you doubt but there is no doubt The Great Fox Heist is an absolutely outstanding sequel! We loved The Great Fox Illustion and couldn't wait to join Flick and Charlie on another high-stakes adventure.
These are books for active readers - those who want to analyse every clue. Readers have the chance to solve the mystery right along with the characters and work out the illusions as they happen.
Flick Lions has travelled to the Swiss town of Linth to find her father as the Great Fox promised her. She and Charlie are going to be on television again. This time it's "The Battle of the Magicians". The Global Order of Magic is electing a new chancellor. Each candidate is represented by one or two young apprentices. The winner will have the right to know the workings of any trick in the world. In order to protect the coveted Bell System, Flick and Charlie are representing the Great Fox - but can they really trust him?
They have their work cut out for them as they prepare to undertake the most amazing illusion - a bank heist where priceless diamonds will disappear!
Flick is a force to be reckoned with - intelligent, observant, feisty and strong. There is no stopping her once she has her mind set on something. She has a prostetic leg which can slow her down but she never gives up.

A wonderfully written, exciting tale full of magic and mystery. The characters are lovable and it is a pleasure to follow them in their adventures throughout this story. One which is thoroughly enjoyable. A great addition to the series.

At the start of the book, Edwards warns the reader not to trust anyone but luckily the author could be trusted to deliver this excellent sequel to the Great Fox Illusion, The Great Fox Heist is a fast moving magical mystery with plenty of skulduggery and all the drama of friendships tested by external forces. Flick and Charlie are great characters and I'm already looking forward to their next adventure.

I found the book a bit difficult to follow, probably because I have not read the first book before this one. The writing is good though. I really would have loved to give it a higher rating but this is one of those that I am really not keen on.

Quirky fast paced story telling that may help to encourage reluctant readers or readers new to chapter book formats.
