I love how she brakes out to explore her house and how she takes on the "howler". My daughter, who is almost 8, is completely not a fan of the vacuum even to this day. She got a kick out of this story and wants to be like Mika when I vacuum now. This is a fun read, with wonderful pictures throughout the story.

Not my favorite. My toddler didn't understand what was happening and there was no conclusion. Might be enjoyed by a preschooler but not our cup of tea.

Little Mika escapes from her crib one day to discover what dogs have been trying to tell us for decades - vacuum cleaners are evil and must be stopped. A cute beginning to a promising new series.

This is a story about a boy who were scared of a snake, a fake snake. What's more it is a fantastic situation because of that boy imagined totally that.

On the other hand, it is a really good story because of a story of fantastic, in fact. but that story it's so good because who is really imaginative story make a fantastical situation a little bit different among others.

Mika is so adorable, smart and sneaky. The art style is very cute and clearly shows what’s going on in the story. Mika vs. the Howler was an interesting game to watch; taking ordinary items and showing what she sees from her own imagination.

"Mika and the Howler" is a cute little book about an adventurous girl who goes on a quest to defeat the Howler, a giant loud monster who is sucking up everything in sight on the floor. Mika wears a tiger onesie and is at first afraid of the Howler, but when she sees her tiger sock in danger, she rallies her friends (stuffed animals) to help her put an end to the Howler's reign of terror. This is an adorable picture book that readers will fall in love with. Parents and children both will have fun following Mika on her heroic journey.

Mika is an adventurer. She leaves her room when she is bored just to encounter a great beast roaming in her house. That beast is a heartless vacuum cleaner, who cannot be stopped by anything (except for plugging him out). This book is about how children explore their surroundings by themself and how it sometimes leads to a lot of mess. However, I didn't really like it. I bet it would be entertaining for a child, but I believe that children books should also carry weight for an adult and the only thing that it says to an adult is that children cause destruction when left alone.

Mika and the Howler was a sweet story about Mika being terrified of a monster called the Howler - the big strange vacuum that Mika can't understand. It's cute and I liked the art style a lot but I would have enjoyed a less abrupt ending. I will still recommend this to others!

This is a cute graphic novel for little ones. Mika escapes from her crib and comes across a vacuum monster. She is afraid, but eventually defeats it.

This book takes a view of an ordinary object and looks at it from a kid's imagination. The pictures are done well to depict exactly how I would imagine a vacuum if I was a scared child. My daughter liked this book and wants to know what Mika interacts with in her house next.

Thank you to Oni Press and Netgalley for providing me a copy of this ARC for my honest review.

I loved this book. As a teacher who works with students with autism, they sometimes have fears that need a explanation as to why they are not scary. This was a creative and and cute way to do that.

Mika is an adorable child who fights a destructive and thieving monster, the Howler. She embarks on a brave journey around her home to stop this creature, and to get her socks back. This is a fun and short read for early readers.

Adorable children's story about a young child named Mika and their encounter with a monster! The artwork is quite basic which I feel fits well with the story. There isn't a lot of text so it was a really fast read and think younger kids would enjoy it. I'm excited to see what happens in volume 2!

Early chapter graphic novel ideal for 1st-2nd grade readers

I can see how a beginning reader would delight in coming to the realization, with Mika, about the “howler.” It is very uncomplicated, so young readers who are more advanced may not appreciate the simplicity.

I loved the illustration style.

So adorable. As a parent who raised a Unicorn Kid, this book was like looking back at my kid as a toddler. It was adorable and a lot of fun.

ARC Copy...Target Demography wise, I would categories this as early graphic reader but I feel it would appeal to other demographics on basis of the whimsical child like wonder nature of the narrative and the illustrations style. Who hasn't gone on imaginary adventures around the house t that age?

A short and sweet comic that is about Mika, a little toddler, who escapes from her crib and encounters "The Howler". Will she escape or will she come to learn that the monster is more than what it seems? This little book is perfect for young children. As an adult, I didn't find it as engaging and it felt obvious as to what the Howler was from the first appearance. It was still sweet with adorable illustrations. I'm planning on reading this to my own kiddos!

I always find it interesting how children interpret the things around them that they are too young to understand. Partnered with delightful illustrations, this story is sure to be enjoyable to readers both young and old.

Mika and the Howler, a fun new graphic novel series for young readers, is the story of an imaginative toddler who wages an epic quest to defeat the howling "monster" attacking her home.

An excellent way to introduce young readers to graphic fiction formats, this one is short, snappy, and well-illustrated in a cute style that mixes traditional picture book approaches with comic book pacing.

I look forward to seeing more from this series - my younger readers starting to venture into the graphic novels section will appreciate this as a springboard to the longer and more involved graphic novel series their older friends devour.
