A fun, unique romcom with complex characters, especially Sam who is dealing with dyslexia and this is tackled really well by the author; I also thought it was really nice that the author has also printed this in a dyslexia friendly font (I found this really thoughtful as it is not widely done and I think it should be more). However, was this the best romance I've ever read? No, but it has really cute characters and a heart-warming storyline and it is generally an easy reading book if you just want something light and fun so I would recommend.

Opposites attract! I really enjoyed this. As a reader, it was very interesting to read about Sam and her life with dyslexia and how it impacted her everyday life. The romance was good but most of all I enjoyed reading about Sam building a good relationship with her half-brother

This is a fun read which I devoured over 24 hours. Samantha is a jobless chef, returned home to look after her teen half brother. And she's dyslexic.
This is a book written by someone who isn't dyslexic, and dyslexia plays a large role. She has done her research, the book is even published in a dyslexia friendly font - but sometimes it comes across that Sam can't read at all.
That gripe aside, this is a fun rom com where the boy, Ben, is the studious introvert - he's interim directoor of the local library - and the girl is the extrovert. She hates reading, he hates cooking. She is returning to the home she left as a young adult to the half brother who is now 14 not four, while Ben is looking for his unknown father.
Well worth buying for a journey, holiday or just to read in the bath.

I very much wanted to enjoy Summer Reading by Jenn McKinlay, and at times I did. But I also wanted to slide into a fictional world and relax there. Summer Reading had just too much instruction in it. I have some understanding of literacy issues caused by dyslexia amongst other things and I certainly accept that those who are neuro-diverse are under-represented in fiction. However, as a fiction specialist, I am uncomfortable with didacticism. For me, Jenn McKinlay included too much instruction and education in her book.

Wow what a book thank you ever so much for the opportunity to review. I could not put it down. Would definitely recommend to others!
