Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

Another fabulous book by Amanda James.

Will putting a letter in a bottle and throwing it into the sea bring you love?

The story is dual-timeline, it’s set in 1899 and the present, following the story of those ladies that have done the above and what it’s brought them by doing so.

The story is very well-written, the characters were lovely too. You could feel as though you’re on the beach with the sand beneath your feet and breeze in your hair.

I highly recommend this book.

The premise of the book, the magic and the different timelines all very much appealed to me as I read the blurb. I liked the way it was written and it was very intriguing. The main character in the present day did irk me a little, as I couldn't really 'get' her, or understand why she made the choices that she did. All in all, I really enjoyed the book.
Spoilers ******
I was a bit disappointed in the ending however as the book seemed to change style as soon as Ethan met Merrin. It went from a well paced love story into a bit of a high school drama, then happily ever after story. It just turned unrealistic and soppy how they were declaring their undying love after meeting each other twice. I know it's the magic of the magic and so forth but even if two characters were meant to be... it just seemed fake. I have read stories by this author before and loved them, and I will read her again.
Thanks to Netgalley for a temporary copy in exchange for an honest review.

Wish Upon a Cornish Moon by Amanda James was a nice, inspiring read.

James's books are always a delight. An enchanting read.
The vivid scenery of the stunning Cornish coastline was vividly captured.
Told in dual timelines 1899, 1997 and present I could feel every emotion these characters felt.
The story was captivating, the characters realistic & memorable.
I enjoyed this story tremendously. And can’t wait to read her next one.

Oh, What a beautiful story!
I will probably end up gushing about this story to more than one person because I loved it that much!
This story spans several eras through two families, but they are all connected by a thread: the power of the moon and a belief in magic.
During and after WW2, Lamorna, and later on, her sister Morwenna, follow an old folk tale known in their community, harnessing the magic of the moon and a particular cove near where they live, in Cornwall, to launch their wishes for a love of their own, using a short incantation, and a message in a bottle.
In the present day, Merrin is not very easily adjusting to her life as a newly divorced mother to a teenager who is due to spread her wings and leave the family nest, too.
Fate brings her in touch with Morwenna, a lonely elderly lady who lives locally and shares the moon's secret with her.
And the way everything falls into place is just beautifully planned.
I don't want to go too far into it, but I can say that it is a gorgeous story filled with - fate, or maybe it really is magic.
I loved all the characters, and honestly, if I weren't happily settled down, I'd be ready to rush to that cove and take a punt on a message in a bottle, helping me with my own future!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins, One More Chapter for an ARC.

Magic in a bottle. Cornish tradition says that throwing a message in a bottle into the sea and wishing on the moon will help you find true love. Lamorna Williams tries it in 1938 and tells her story to young Ethan in 1997. In the present day, Merrin tries it again in desperation. Beautifully written, with characters you root for and glorious descriptions of the Cornish coastline. Amanda James's books are always a delight. An enchanting holiday read.

Can magic help you find the love of your life? Can throwing a letter in a bottle into the sea in June bring that love to your door?
This book is set in Cornwall & begins in 1899 & ends in the present time. Follow the stories of people who have thrown their bottle into the sea & what it has brought to their lives.
Such a great book & so well written. I could feel the sea breeze on my face & the sand between my toes. Loved the characters, especially Merrin. If you want a book to take you away, then this is the one. Enjoy!

Wish Upon a Cornish Moon by this new to me author is a story that spans decades - tells the lifestories of Mary, Lamorna, Ethan and Wenna.
A. James' book, published by Harper Collins UK / One More Chapter is a magic read. A story that gripped me, brought me to Magic Cove and didn't let go - and I loved every minute reading this extraordinaire story.

This was a cute little story! The writing was good and I thought the plot had such an interesting idea. I did find myself skimming a lot, as I fell a little bored, but I thought the little bits of magic with the bottles and finding love rather adorable.

In 1938 in Cornwall, Lamora's grandmother tells her of the legend that if you throw a bottle with a message in it into the sea at Magic Cove at midnight and say a prayer to the moon you will be granted your true love.
Eventually Lamora 0throws caution to the wind and at age 15 sneeks out of the house at midnight and throws her bottle into the sea. This starts off a chain of magical happenings over the course of the next eighty years.

I am lost for words at how much I enjoyed this story. The last few books I have read I haven't bothered looking at the synopsis of the story. If I know the author's books well I have just trusted that I will enjoy the book and I have every time.
This is why I haven't given a big account of what happens in the story as sometimes it just spoils it.

This story is truly lovely. Characters are wonderful and all people you would love to know. We start at the beginning of the war and all the heartache it brings with it. Then onto 1997 in America where we catch up with our main character. Finally in present day and another lovely story and conclusion to the book.
Its the kind of book that makes you believe anything can come true. Yes I shed a tear which is a mark that I have enjoyed the story.
I've read all of Amanda Jame's books over the years and she just keeps getting better and better. Always with a little bit of Cornish magic.

If you like romance stories with a little touch if magic then this book is for you. This book is sweet, and well written, with some great characters and a enjoyable storyline.

This book follows several timelines and different characters but ties them together nicely. I never felt confused while reading. It turned out to be a very gentle read even though there’s a part of the story that flows through times of war. The main characters are super sweet and romances are clean. The heart of the book has a touching mix of magical realism, and I was pleased that each storyline found happiness.

I received a digital ARC of this book from NetGalley and the publisher, in return for my honest opinion.

Wish upon a Cornish Moon by Amanda James

" Dreams come true for them as take those old tales to heart "

Love these dual timeline stories and this one did not disappoint.
We are introduced to Lamorna who aged 15 throws a message in a bottle into the sea with a wish.
Then many years later away from Cornwall she is telling the story to her nephew who wants to do the same.
We are then in the present day where the story comes together .
A wonderful story that makes you wish to were able to do the same and see where that takes you and who you will be going on that journey with and how it has to change the path of your life.
