Gentle romance based in the media, cosy romance. Good development of friendships and the writing flowed well.

Sheridan Jeane’s *Here’s the Scoop* is a charming romantic comedy that blends humor, heart, and the chaos of dodging paparazzi while navigating budding love. It tells the story of Sonya, a woman trying to rebuild her life after being thrust into the public eye due to a rockstar’s lies, and Max Ross, the movie promoter whose past mistakes played a role in her upheaval.

Sonya is a resilient and witty protagonist who’s tired of hiding and ready to reclaim her life. Her determination to stand tall against adversity, even with paparazzi lurking, is inspiring, and her dynamic with her fifth-grade students adds warmth and humor. Max, on the other hand, is an earnest man seeking redemption, balancing his niece’s needs with his attempts to make amends with Sonya. Their chemistry is sweet and playful, growing naturally as they navigate a whirlwind of complications.

The fifth-grade classroom and the school musical bring a unique and amusing backdrop to the story. The interactions between Sonya, Max, and the kids provide many lighthearted moments, while the looming presence of the paparazzi adds just enough tension to keep readers invested. The balance of humor, romance, and mild drama works well, making for a breezy and enjoyable read.

That said, some parts of the story feel rushed or underdeveloped, particularly the resolution of the conflict with the rockstar and the paparazzi. Max’s journey to redemption and Sonya’s trust in him could have used more depth, as their connection, while sweet, leans on predictable romcom tropes.

Overall, *Here’s the Scoop* is a feel-good story perfect for fans of lighthearted romance with a touch of chaos and plenty of laughs. Sheridan Jeane delivers a tale that’s entertaining and heartwarming, proving that love can bloom even amidst the noise of public scrutiny. A great pick for readers looking for an uplifting romcom with a side of classroom antics!

I will preface this by saying I don’t prefer to read romance novels. They’re often way too cheesy for me and are all mostly the same premise, but I was in the mood for a mindless read and I was able to get an ARC from Netgalley so I gave it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised! There were a lot of cheesy parts, but overall I did enjoy following the storyline and watching Sonya and Max’s relationship grow. There was just enough explicit romance in the book to add context to the story but wasn’t overly done, which I appreciated. It was well written and I thought the ending was cute! I think anyone who enjoys romance novels would like this book as well!

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this book.
This felt like a predictable romcom however it was a fun escape from reality while I was reading it. I feel like even though it was a bit predictable, a lot of books are and that’s ok. Not every book needs to have a big plot twist that’s unexpected.

I had to dnf this one.
I sadly couldn’t get into the writing style and I didn‘t enjoy reading this book at all

The general plot of this book was an interesting concept, but the book fell just a little bit flat to me. I’m not a huge fan of books that rely so heavily on the inner monologue of characters

Fairly predictable rom com but it was still a good read that I enjoyed it. It was also a quick read.

I loved this book. it was sweet , a little spicy, and included honest depictions of grief and loss. I really enjoyed how the author explored themes of mental heath and the internal struggles of the characters without it taking over the story completely I also really enjoyed the supportive small town community vibes. The characters were well rounded and engaging and there was the perfect of amount spice for this style of book. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would absolutely recommend if you’re looking for a sweet no stress romance.

Enjoyed the second chance and the friends that they have. Love the development of friendships and wish I could have seen more of that in the story.
Some slow parts, some small items that didn't flow well or had word choice issues, and some inconsistencies made this not a 5, but solid 4.

Thanks so much to Sheridan Jeane and Flowers and Fullerton for the free ARC. Such a great cute story between max and Sonya. Just not my favorite story I’ve read lately.

This was a cute rom-com with a little bit of spice. I enjoyed the characters in the book and the way they developed. Loved that the spice was not overly done. Super cute book and will definitely recommend to my followers and friends!

This was such a cute book! This was the first book I've read from this author and I really enjoyed it. The story was different from anything I've read recently and really captured my attention. It was so well written and the characters were fantastic.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with this book.

This book wasn’t really for me. It fell flat in terms of plot and tropes. The romance aspect didn’t come until the second half.

The characters and relationship development between them in this book were great. Nothing felt too shallow and there was good depth in dialogue and plot. A truly positive message and happy ending made it very easy to enjoy this novel. Review also posted on Good Reads.

This book has one of my favorite tropes which is teacher x guardian, and the romance in this book is so sweet that there isn't a moment when i didn't love them together.

Sonya is a school teacher, but when Max becomes guardian to his Neice Emma, due to the loss of her parents, Sonya and Max must get reacquainted and must tackle the paparazzi and the online world, while putting on the fifth-grade musical all at the same time.

This was a really lovely narrative of a second-chance romance, but it does also explore heavy themes such as cyberbullying, grief and the loss of parents.
I really liked the relationship between Max and his niece Emma and found their companionship and growth a really nice part of this narrative. I do wish Sonya was a stronger character, but I still really liked the character.

Before you read this, it is highly recommended that you read the first book in the series.
Max's sister passes away, leaving him to be a guardian of Emma. Throughout the journey, he reignites his flame with Sonya, Emma's teacher. The couple dated five years ago, but the care for each other never really left. They have to work together for Emma putting together a class play.
Will the two become an official couple that you have been rooting for throughout the story?

Sophie is a fantastic grade 5 elementary school teacher. She is really making her mark in small town Sewickley near Pittsburgh. She is finding friends and thinks that she has found her place. Then Max comes back into her life.

Max is struggling. Not only has he lost his sister and brother-in-law, but he has also become guardian for his niece, Emma. Taking Emma back to school, he meets Emma's teacher, Sophie. However, that is not the name he knows her by. She is Essie, love of his life.

Who is Essie? Why did Sophie leave Max? And will they be able to get past it all to experience love again?

This was a good read. It didn't really grab me to start with as there was a lot of history to wade through before the story really took off. However, it was still fun. The spice was on the page and well written.

Thanks to Netgalley, Flowers and Fullerton and Sheridan Jeane for this ARC.
