This was a wonderful middle grade read! It definitely has the ability to become an instant classic and it showcases a great Black main character.

The story immediately had my attention and I was constantly wondering what would happen next. I loved how the different time characters were introduced and then used throughout the story.

It follows some typical tropes while adding some unique world building and a nice range of characters. I thought it had some elements of A Wrinkle In Time (one of my favourite books growing up) and that made me enjoy it even more. I felt nostalgic for this book while reading it and can't wait to pass it along to my niece!

Overall this was a great, engaging read, perfect for middle graders who love science fiction or you want to break them into the genre!

My students and I have loved all of Calejo’s Charlie Hernandez series, and I can’t wait to introduce them to Antares and Rymworld! This was an awesome sci-fi/fantasy adventure, with amazing characters and settings, and a really fun introduction to a new series. I can’t wait to read more! Recommended for any upper elementary or middle school classroom or library.

This was a fun read! I enjoyed the science fiction and adventure elements that are reminiscent of A Wrinkle In Time and Phantom Tollbooth. The characters are witty with just enough snark to be interesting. I look forward to the other installments of this middle grade series.
