I've been a long-time reader of the author, and am thrilled about the release of his first "real" book (self-described). I enjoyed this tale, and while the "twist" wasn't too difficult to figure out, it still made for a good story. Perhaps it could have been wrapped up a little sooner, perhaps the kids were a little too well-spoken for children, perhaps the cops were a little too oblivious. Regardless, I enjoyed the ride and would recommend this and the author's other offerings.
I received a complimentary copy of the novel from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Jon and Rachel, along with their 10 year old son Gale, are still grieving over the murder of Layla, their daughter two years previously. Despite the tireless efforts of the police, no killer has been caught. When news comes through that the powers that be need to wind down the police investigation, the family, along with the DI in charge are having none of it. DI Clarke, in a last ditch attempt to get justice, persuades both the family and the tv show Crimebusters to make Layla’s case a prime slot on the program. But are the results what Clarke was expecting?
I have read several of Dunnett’s books and always enjoyed them. However, this one has definitely gone up a notch! Read in one day, I was captivated from the first few pages and it quickly became a ‘just one more chapter book’. Well written, likeable characters with an exciting plot, a very good read.
If I have one observation (NOT a criticism) then it’s that the ending was a little sentimental, but as the characters were young and emotional then I accept it probably needs to be.
A book I would definitely recommend.
Thank you NetGalley.

Thank you so much Netgalley for the chance to read this advanced copy in exchange for a review!
I absolutely love psychology thrillers so I was very excited when I was approved for this read! Could not put it down!

One moment my beautiful daughter, her face flushed from the sun, her curls still wet from splashing in the ocean, was waiting in line for a strawberry ice cream, the next she was gone… As I sit in her dimly lit bedroom, surrounded by flickering candles, I feel the crushing weight of my daughter’s absence. It's been two years since Layla was murdered. The police have searched tirelessly for her killer, but they've found nothing – it's like whoever did it vanished into thin air. My once-perfect marriage is falling apart, we can hardly look at each other anymore. Our ten-year-old son Gale is struggling. He’s changed since she died. He’s more secretive and also… I can’t quite put my finger on it. They were so close, is this Gale coming to terms with her death? Still, unease creeps over me as I watch him. He just stares past me at something I can’t see. Then one day, as I butter his toast for breakfast, my son tells me something that stops me in my tracks. " I know who killed Layla .” I can barely get the words out to ask how. Looking at me with his serious little boy expression, he puts a hand on my arm. “She told me.”
Hauntingly beautiful. Well-written. I have no words to describe how wonderful this story is. Will recommend to others.

What a great little book, devoured in just one sitting. Amazing story with great characters. The bond between brother and sister was so heartwarming. The theme reminded me of Casper the friendly ghost. It was very believable and did have me wondering right up to the end if the killer was going to be caught or not. This definitely wont be the last book I read from Gregg Dunnett. I loved it all, but especially the emotional ending.
Thanks to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me an advanced copy to read in exchange for an open and honest review. As always, my reviews will also be posted on Amazon, Goodreads and Waterstones and interaction on Facebook and instagram where possible.

I feel very conflicted about this book. On one hand, the story itself is pretty good and while the twist is a little obvious if you’re a fan of thrillers, it’s still not so in your face that it’s boring. I wasn’t bored while reading this and I read the whole thing in one sitting. On the other hand, I’m thrown by the fact that what occurs in the book blurb never actually occurs in the book itself and randomly there will be references to something that occurred, but the reference what exactly natch what occurred or a name would be wrong. The book is 95% well written and the other 5% is these random and jarring mess ups that are so obvious that I’m baffled that editors didn’t address them.
Overall, the book was good. It would make an excellent airplane book/other king transportation and you won’t be bored while you read it

4 stars
I was completely engaged from page one. This took me on a roller coaster of emotions, and damn…that ending! This is a must read!

One of the best books I have ever read in my life !!!! It had me on the edge of my,seat !!! Some bits were sad ...some bits really had u shouting lol but my god the way it comes together and at the end thos book brought tears to my eyes 100/100!!!!!

As I ruffled through my iPad in search of my "next book to read" I came across the cover for Little Ghosts. Between the title and the synopsis, I said "why not"
I was supposed to only read a few chapters before heading out for the holiday weekend.
Well, we know nothing ever goes as planned .
I sneakily convinced my husband he should drive (so I could read) and promised to be the best DJ while he drove.
Lies Lies Lies
This book is nothing short of entertaining but also incredibly creepy. I was completely consumed from start to finish and although Craig had to drive 3 hours in silence (DJ-less) I at least stayed quiet and refrained from yelling at his wild road rage so I am sure he was also grateful.
This is a book that you MUST pre-order! Out May 11, 2023, you do not want to miss this one.

The only book you need to read this year. From the #1 bestselling author, this is a gripping, emotional, heartbreaking novel full of twists and turns, and an ending you’ll never see coming…
