Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher/author for providing me with an ALC in exchange for my honest review.

This book was exactly what I wanted it to be! I loved it. I will make sure to check out other books by this author. When I requested this I was just intrigued by the concept of it and I loved how it turned out. This story had a great plot and if you have read this and enjoyed it, This was so much. It was such a great story. I would say give this one a try. I will continue to follow this author. Way to go to this author for not letting me down.

I highly enjoyed the narrator of the audiobook. Kept me listening.

Thank you NetGalley and Sinda Slagle for accepting my request to read and review Book Tour Madness.

I struggled from the beginning. If this had been anything but a NetGalley I would have DNFd the book by page 25. I was bored. The writing is unimaginative and amateurish.

This could be condensed to a short story.

I am saddened by my review. I did read this was the author's most personal writing following the death of her husband.

I would suggest if the synopsis appeals to you, then give the book a try. Unfortunately nothing about this writing worked for me.

Oh, how I love this concept! A murder-mystery on a booktour with a mystery writer who goes to investigate.
This is exactly up my alley and Sinda Slagle worked out the mystery plot in this book really well!

I liked how she describes Jaynie, Marliss and Hilda. Very funny even at times.
I did feel that there were several side plots with family and neighbours that were a bit much and maybe even unnecessary. But even then I did enjoy and loved the book very much!

At the behest of her agent, mystery author Jaynie, is sent on a book tour to promote her New York Times bestselling novel. The only hitch is she is recently widowed. Despite her grief, she embarks on the book tour and discovers a very real life mystery unfolding in front of her. And despite being an author, not a detective, she sets out to investigate the case for herself, causing her to become tangled up in the whole affair.

I wanted to like this book, I really did, but there were so many unneccessary plot points ( eg family members's DV) or improbable scenarios ( eg trusting random stranger despite being mixed up in [spoiler] ) , even for a cosy mystery that I struggled. It felt like two separate stories jammed together - the first part, exploring recent widowhood, family dynamics and home repair, having absolutely nothing to do with the bulk of the book - and the protagonist's incessant name-dropping of other mystery writers and *their* stories did little to endear me to the character.

The idea was a good one, and it had potential, but this one was unfortunately not for me.

I loved the idea of a mystery going on in a book tour, it has everything that I was looking for from the description. The characters worked well overall and felt like they belonged in this plot. I loved the mystery element going on and thought it worked overall. Sinda Slagle has a great writing style and I'm so glad I got to read this.

"Hilda Richenboch. You know…” She waved her hand again. “She writes that ghastly horror stuff, but apparently it sells all right.” Marliss shrugged a shoulder, tempting that button to break loose from the others. With her next movement, the button had had all it could take and shot across the room like an arrow. If Marliss noticed, she gave no clue. The button bounced off a spittoon on the floor. I hoped it was merely decorative."
