Deviant Agendas is a razor-sharp legal thriller that blends courtroom drama with corporate intrigue and a powerful feminist undercurrent. Katherine Smith Dedrick introduces us to Victoria Rodessa, a brilliant and ambitious young attorney navigating the high-stakes world of a prestigious international law firm. But beneath the polished surface of success lies a web of secrets, manipulation, and moral compromise.

What makes this novel stand out is its protagonist. Victoria is smart, driven, and refreshingly human. Her journey from idealistic newcomer to a woman forced to confront the darker realities of her profession is both compelling and relatable. Dedrick, drawing from her own legal background, writes with authority and authenticity, making the legal and ethical dilemmas feel all too real.

The pacing is tight, the stakes are high, and the twists are satisfying without feeling forced. The book also doesn’t shy away from tackling issues like misogyny, ambition, and the cost of silence in a male-dominated industry. It’s a timely and thought-provoking read that resonates beyond the legal genre.

If you enjoy thrillers with strong female leads, ethical complexity, and a touch of suspense, Deviant Agendas is a must-read. I’m already looking forward to the next installment in the V-Files series. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book.

Interesting read about the drama and deception that can occur in a law firm. Vanessa and Kay are two best friends from law school, one goes to work for a major firm in Chicago and the other works for her family company. Vanessa encountered some struggles while working at this major firm all the while trying to figure out the issues with support of her closest friends.
