You can always be sure of a wild ride with a K.L.Slater plot! The Bedroom Window was full of drama, mystery and suspense from start to finish. I really enjoyed how it all unfolded and that ending left me gob smacked!!

We are introduced to Lottie, her husband, and their son. Their lives have been completely turned upside down, and for a while, it seemed like their future would be overshadowed by nothing but dark clouds. But then, a fresh wind begins to blow, and when they see the sun appear again in the distance, they decide to take a new direction...

Their new home offers a breathtaking view of the beach and the sea, but what if you could also peek at the neighbors?

I think it’s human nature to look out the window and see what’s going on in the street, in the neighbors’ garden, or maybe even catch the occasional glimpse of what’s happening inside their home. People are naturally curious, and usually, what you see is very ordinary, everyday, innocent things. But what if that’s not the case...

Although Lottie has already been through a lot, I found her strength to keep going admirable. It's just a shame she didn’t receive much support from the one person she gave everything up for—to support and stand by them.

The book also shifts between past and present, and at first, you don’t really understand the connection with the part from the past. But when it all finally comes together perfectly, it becomes clear that your patience has been more than rewarded. Of course, nothing stopped me from speculating and trying to figure it out myself. Unfortunately, I wasn’t very successful again—but that’s nothing new. ;)

For me, this is a story that takes you through all kinds of emotions and schemes being plotted, where once again, innocent people become victims of a few manipulators.
A book with a good pace, the right amount of suspense, and interesting characters. It kept me engaged from beginning to end. 5 stars

Thank you

Some not very likeable characters inhabit this book which failed to grip me Good start and build up,plenty of twists but predictable.

This absolutely was not what I was expecting going into this book. I just had a different assumption given I go into my books blind, and I was NOT disappointed. I loved the intricately woven relationships between the characters as well as the multiple timelines. I think Slater knocked this one out of the park.

The idea of this book intrigued me instantly. While I will say I was curious about the story and very much enjoyed it, I found it a little bit too predictable. The twists and turns were, unfortunately, not always unexpected. I still enjoyed the story, though. It was creepy, atmospheric and entirely intriguing.

K L Slater ramps up the creepiness and terror to eleven in her latest unputdownable chiller, The Bedroom Window.

Lottie has had a rough year, so she is thrilled that at long last things have finally started going her way for a change. Having moved to a new neighbourhood, everything seems to have fallen into place. Her son Albie is really happy and seems to have settled in their beautiful new home. He also seems to love nothing more than to go and play at their new neighbours’ house. They treat him like the son they never had and Albie is always talking about the fun he has at their place. Yet, Lottie cannot shake off this feeling that something isn’t quite right next door.

Why don’t her neighbours ever let her into their home? Why do they never open their front door more than a crack? And if they do not have any children, then to whom does the small pink tricycle in their hallway belong to? The more Lottie observes them, the more her uneasiness increases – and her trepidation is compounded when one night she sees a shadowy figure in their bedroom window. Lottie had thought that she had learned her lesson about trusting the wrong people. Yet, she begins to wonder just what the couple next door are hiding.

Has Lottie inadvertently put herself – and her little boy – in danger? Who is that figure at the window? And will she manage to save them – and her family – from a fate worse than death?

K L Slater’s The Bedroom Window is a first-class thriller I couldn’t stop myself from devouring. Twisted, disturbing and terrifying, The Bedroom Window brilliantly balances tension, menace and foreboding in an excellent thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.

K L Slater never disappoints and she has struck gold yet again with her latest surefire hit, The Bedroom Window.

This book was so good that I read it in one sitting. I could not put it down! I had to know what was going to happen. Who is the person in the window she keeps seeing? You have to read it to find out! I would definitely recommend this book.

A good read, lots of tension and twists. I didn't feel it quite as gripping as other books I've read from the author but it's still a good read.

This is a long overdue review!

I remember my mam recommending this author to me, and we've since discovered that as much as we like watching the same stuff, we don't really like reading it.

This is an alright premise I thought I would enjoy, but it just wasn't right for me at the time. I didn't love it.

This was not a thriller. It was mystery at best but I was not exactly thrilled. The start has a lot of promise, it was eerie and the setting was actually nice. It was also easy to read. It would keep you guessing but you would probably guess wrong and not in a good way. The characters are all unlikeable and the story itself is absurd and unpleasant. Still, thank you Netgalley for the free ARC copy.

THE BEDROOM WINDOW By K.L. Slater

They say they have no children. So who did I see at the window?
My darling little boy Albie adores playing at our new neighbours’ house. And after the terrible year we’ve had, I feel so lucky that we can start over in this perfect place, with new friends who treat Albie like the son they never had. He can’t stop talking about the tree house they’re building him, and the cookies they bake together.
But as time passes, something starts to feel wrong. Why don’t they ever open the front door more than a crack? They told me they had no children so who does the small pink tricycle I saw in their hall belong to? And why can I hear a lullaby drifting across the garden when I’m tucking my own boy into bed?
Then, one night, I see a small shadowy figure in their bedroom window…
I thought I’d learned my lesson about trusting the wrong people, but now I’m forced to wonder what this perfect couple are hiding.
And if I try to save that little helpless figure in the window, will I do what I’ve always feared most, and put my beautiful boy’s life in danger…?😊What i liked -

✔ Psychological Thriller.
✔ Such unlikeable characters. But that was what made the book interesting.
✔ So many secrets and keep you hooked to the book.
✔ Complex characters, strong storyline, lots of lies and secrets and tons of twists.

🤔What could have been better -

✔ The book slowed down in the middle where I did start losing interest. But then thankfully picked up again. The dip in pace could have been avoided.

K L Slater is one of my go to authors and this book was another brilliant read! I'd been meaning to read this for ages and once I started, I couldn't believe I’d waited so long!

The book is about Lottie and Neil who are excited for a new start with their son, Albie, in a new seaside town. But the couple have secrets of their own and when they move into their new home, the neighbours, although seemingly helpful and kind, are also secretive and mysterious and extremely reluctant to allow anyone inside their home....

I was immediately drawn into the story and the background of the characters, which is cleverly woven into the plot. The book has a very Jane Eyre feel to the story (not a spoiler!) and its not long before a chilling sense of menace begins to appear and this builds as the book progresses. The sinuous atmosphere is cleverly drawn and throughout the twists and turns, I raced through the pages to find out the final heartbreaking truth.

Unputdownable. Highly recommend!

Thanks to author K L Slater, publishers Bookouture and Net Galley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

They have moved to a quiet little town for her husband's job but something doesn't feel right. This story gave me goosebumps but I was glued to the pages. I was just itching to find out the whole story.
