This book is the perfect example of what a domestic noir should be!! Where to even start?!
The plot is unique and original. It's layered and cleverly written so all the subplots converge perfectly. Ot never gets messy or complicated and thought out the book, the plot keeps moving forward.
Ots told over multiple timelines and povs, again all well defined and kept seperate until the very end where they come together seamlessly and without leaving any plot holes
The characters are well written and real. They have flaws and faults and secrets and mistakes. Noone is who they seem and you don't quite know what's going on u tol the author ways you to know. And even them, its so much more than you'd ever have expected
It's got a good pace and there are no filler paragraphs or chapters. Everything in the story is relevant, even of you don't realise it at the time. It's definitely a world where nothing is as it seems and what you think is happening, its just the tip of the iceberg.
To say this is an example of perfect storytelling and of the thriller genre would be accurate. Ots a sheer delight to get lost in the story and it had been the perfect way for me to spend my sat afternoon in the sun.
This won't disappoint any thriller fans, its a must read!!
