Love Unleashed is a sweet romcom between 2 vets that own businesses right next to each other. Malakai is a traditional vet, and Parisa practices holistic and spiritual remedies for pets. They both have young colleagues who are slowly getting together.
Although both are having a tough time building a consistent client base, especially when they start playing jokes on each other, driving one another mad.
They both claim to have each other, but the enemies to Lovers vibe is strong here. Their back and forth is great with some moments of genuine connection and relatability.
I did find Parisa slightly overly dramatic at points, but it was tolerable. It was slow burn for sure and not spicy at all, but I think it was a traditional romcom with a happy ending. The only reason I haven't rated it higher is because there was a lot of miscommunication between the two. A lot of the issues brought up could have been resolved instantly with a conversation.
Thank you for the eARC, and I hope you read and enjoy Elise Eliot's book!

This was a cute book from beginning to end. It was a fast easy read. I enjoyed the banter between the characters, although it did feel childish sometimes. I just didn't feel like 30 year olds would act that way. I really loved the concept of the veterinary clinics and all the pets that are sprinkled through out, it made it that much cuter.
The characters were very likeable. There's also a great cast of side characters which brought to the story. I would've liked more from Parisa, I felt like the relationship with Dane was not necessary, it took away from the story in my opinion, I felt like it took way too much in the story and didn't bring anything.
I felt the story felt short for me as I needed more of them together, more banter, more angst, more depth to their developing relationship. The ending felt so rushed, as nothing truly happened between them until 10% before the ending, so much could've been explored if it would've been done earlier. I still enjoyed it, but something was missing and felt off for me.
✨️Thank you @netgalley, @booksgosocial for my free ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

While I absolutely adore the plot I just couldn't get into the characters. They seemed a tad immature to me from the banter to the way they handled each other. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and this just didn't feel like that

I started to read this book but I had to DNF due to the writing, this book didn't capture my attention at all. This book is an interesting rom com but not the rom com for me at all.

Love Unleashed is a charming and entertaining novel about two rival veterinarians. The book showcases several tropes, including enemies-to-lovers, slow burn, rom-com, and work rivals.
I was impressed with the banter and fighting among the MCs... The tension between them builds up slowly, and the chemistry between them is electric, making the romance all the more satisfying. The story was fun to read, and the pets added an extra layer of warmth and heart to the story.
I'm not a big fan of love triangles tho...
Overall, Love Unleashed by Elise Eliot is a light and enjoyable read, especially for enemies-to-lovers romance and vet stories fans. Despite its flaws, the book has a lot of heart and charm, and the main characters and their furry patients are endearing. If you're looking for a cute and entertaining romance novel, Love Unleashed might be the perfect choice.

Thank you to NetGalley and Elise Eliot for this digital ARC!
The cutest little romance sprinkled with dogs and banter? Sign me up. All of the characters were likable (except Dane, iykyk) and everything was fast paced and upbeat! Who doesn’t love an enemies to lovers trope?
Definitely recommend for one of your first pool side reads of the season! This baby just published this week, so be sure to snag your copy!

This was a cute romcom-style book. I loved the build-up between the characters throughout. The he falls first trope was used in a perfect not over-the-top way. The author built a story that was relatable and a book boyfriend that while I hated him at first had me cheering him on in the end. I loved the character development of both main characters. This is a slow burn low spice romcom I will definitely recommend to others.

Love Unleashed is a romcom following Parisa who is the owner of a wellness pet center that specializes in holistic alternatives to petcare and has her business right next door to Malakai who owns a more traditional approach to vet medicine
I really really wanted to like this book. I signed up for the arc because I am an enemies to lover girlie until I die but these 2 characters seemed so childish. Maybe I'm just more of a "mildly inconvenience" type of ETL person and thats why it didn't do it for me. At the beginning of the book the MMC barges into the FMC's place of business and fights with her which develops into a screaming match. In front of customers. Idk that just gave me some ick. And further in the FMC sees that the MMC's vet business is promoting a pet dental clean for $295 and she gets caught on camera erasing the 5 leaving it at $29 which tons of people call to schedule for that price leaving the MMC's business out of TONS of money. Messing on with a business on a pretty decent scale like that just doesn't sit right with me. Also arguing in public directly in front of a potential client about who they should choose to care for their dog put me off. I wanted to shake both of them and be like "Can't you guys see this so immature?"
I did feel for Parisa though as her parents aren't very supportive and make snide comments about her business that she's proud of. I'm sure this book would be super enjoyable for other enemies to lovers readers this book just wasn't for me
I received this ARC via netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Book boyfriend - check, cute funny moments - check, love story you wish would happen to you - check. Romantic comedy perfection - check check! Malakai and Parisa's chemistry is undeniable and you can feel it radiating off the pages. Could not put this down.

I enjoyed the beginning, and I enjoyed the ending… Middle(Dane) was a little blah. Enemies to lovers trope is a favorite of mine though, so it was enjoyable. I read an ARC on NetGalley, so I think the Thanksgiving on Saturday thing was fixed(hopefully).

Two vets with sizzling chemistry go head to head in this comical enemies to lovers story. There are some funny moments and I enjoyed the misunderstandings in the beginning. The last 25% of the story seemed rushed and drawn out all at the same time. The main misunderstanding doesn’t get resolved for ages and then there is a love triangle of sorts that I thought felt strange.
Despite all this it’s a great quick read if you like animals and vet stories.
Thank you to the publisher, author and netgalley for this arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

An easy read that drew me in with enemies-to-lovers Parisa and Malakai battling each other from their neighbouring clinics, with sparks flying and chemistry in spades. Everyone sees their fighting for what it really is but it takes this pair a while to catch up. How can your relationship take a complete 180? Is it worth the risk? With so much bad blood between these two, it’s inevitable that this was a slow burn kind of romance. I couldn’t get enough of Malakai’s rebirth as a wooing casanova and was totally loving his confidence and with Parisa finally feeling seen - and by two men - it was rewarding to watch the emotions unfold.
It did feel a little like reading my own dating experience on paper and I’m sure many others will see a bit of themselves in Parisa, or their exes in Dane (I definitely dated a Dane) and maybe even their current partners in Malakai. Whilst I don’t think I could handle all the shouting myself, even from a man like Malakai, Parisa definitely seems to match his temper and forgive it. Love is a battlefield, so they say.
Anyway, romance, four legged besties, and a lot of warring with words - a great book to wile away the weekend with!
I received a free copy of this book. All views are my own.

Oh Parisa honey, run fast and run far from these guys...
I liked this book - I really did. But damn, did the female lead Parisa not have much to work with. She's got the clingy boyfriend who is so keen on getting married in the same time frame that his parents had years ago, that he has blinkers on and his hearing off. He starts out like a Hallmark boyfriend and ends up a bit like a Lifetime psycho. Weird dude.
Then she has the male lead, Malakai, who starts off with strong Clark Kent energy, but then also descends into clingy territory. If you like her, tell her, sure, but don't essentially stalk her while she's dating someone else and love bomb her. Not cool my man.
Also, side note, but what was up with Malakai's sister, Gianna? She was so touchy-feely with him and on two occasions used herself as the prop to make Pari jealous. Ew girl, no. Don't be strange.
Still, the book had dogs and scenes with dogs and stories about dogs, so I cant complain too much. It also had some really funny one liners, which is always great.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers. I appreciate you. All views are my own!

The cover really drew me into this book, the story is why I kept reading. This book was a sweet, easy read. It was lighthearted and funny. Would recommend!

This is what Book Boyfriends are made of. This was a good book and I will be reading more from Elise. Read it today. you will find a new author to love.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

A funny and sweet read . It is about two vets Malakai and Parisa who have their business next to each other and they keep fighting . He is the classic vet and she has holistic pet wellness center . Almost every day there is a reason and they arguing . Behind that there is hiding passion . But when Malakai try to tell her about his feelings she already has a boyfriend . Will he get the girl of his dreams ?
I received this book from net galley and the publisher as an ARC. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own .

... this was a little frustrating to read, and it's entirely the male lead's fault.
I'm being nice with my rating because the potential and the plotline is there, the execution is the only thing I found lacking.
The male lead was crazy. He swung back and forth between I like her/I hate her, and once he realized he liked her, he did almost nothing to ask her out other than randomly trying to appear in the same room as her. Sure, the female lead could have asked him out as well, but at this point she didn't even know she liked him, so it's all the male lead's fault. He not only composed several ridiculous scenes to make her jealous by using his sister and flirting with some other girl and then never truly clarified what was going on between him and all these other girls after Parisa saw them together.
Both characters felt inconsistent and the entire story felt like an exaggerated version of a contemporary romance - it wasn't very realistic, and honestly, quite ridiculous. I mean, Parisa should have dumped the hotdog guy the moment he didn't listen to her about "slow your roll I'm not marrying you" or any other moment she told him to chill out and he just said "i don't want to fight with you."
Frustrating. But, the plotline was there, at least. I just wanted the leads to be together more than the last... 5% ish.
thank you Netgalley for the free copy

I was drawn to this book initially because of my love for dogs and all things related to animal care. I got what I was looking for in these two rival veterinarians that are enemies with a very different approach to veterinary medicine. This part of the story was entertaining and I really enjoyed the banter between the two.
The story didn't spend as much time on the romance between the characters as I would have liked. The love triangle seemed disjointed to me. I lost some interest when that started.
I also would have loved to see this story from one perspective. When they jump between different character point of views, I feel like the story loses its flow.
A solid effort but I was a bit disappointed. I'm hoping to see another book by this author that tweaks these things a bit.

I am just going to say do yourself as a reader a favor, block out a couple of hours and truly settle down with this great book.

Tropes:
-Enemies to lovers
-Slow burn
-Rom-com
-Work rivals
This was such a fun read, I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did. Parisa(fc) and Malakai(mc) are both veterinarians and share buildings for their practices. They both have different methods of doing their jobs and immediately but heads due to differences in care for the pets in their care.
If you love enemies to lovers in the workplace, you will like this one. The workplace banter and fighting was enjoyable to read. I liked that the main characters didn't instantly get over their issues and become friends, but this was a very slow burn. I'm not always a fan of slow burns, but the tension, little moments, and romance before they got together were great. I liked reading about a Persian main character and seeing some cultural aspects in this book. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the love triangle with Dante. It was very obvious that he wasn't a real threat, so it seemed to be an unnecessary plot point. Overall this was so fun and quick to read, kudos to the pets that were their own characters lol.
