To say I squealed when I got confirmation of this ARC is an understatement. I absolutely adored Fizzy in The Soulmate Equation and as an avid Christina Lauren fan I couldn’t wait to read her story and their brand-new book. The True Love Experiment is a love letter to romance readers and fangirls everywhere and this was evident to me throughout.
Fizzy a romance writer and former serial dater is currently experiencing a writer’s block after finding her romantic spark has extinguished. Connor an executive producer-who has recently been forced to move to Reality TV- proposes a dating show where the viewers are given the opportunity to vote for who they believe is Fizzy’s perfect match. With the DNADuo data, from the Soulmate Equation, being used in the live finale so viewers can see if they correctly identified who Fizzy is scientifically proven to be most compatible with. In true romance author style, Frizzy requests a variety of different archetypes (Cinnamon Role, Hot Nerd, Vampire and many more).
I absolutely loved the premise of this book. Christina Lauren are definitely on to something with this idea- I mean I would binge watch this show. I didn’t think it was possible to adore Fizzy more after the Soulmate Equation, but I was wrong. Her vulnerability and strength in this book were something else. I wasn’t sure who would be deserving of our girl, but I always put my faith in Christina Lauren, and they didn’t disappoint. Connor is by no means perfect; he has a past filled with mistakes, but he owns this and makes significant growth. He is so well written throughout.
I personally believe that all romance readers need to read this book, but if you need any more convincing check out the tropes…
•Friends to Lovers
•Reality TV
•Dual POV
•Single Parent
Thank you Christina Lauren, Little Brown Book Group and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I have become a massive fan of Christina Lauren books and was so excited to see this book on netgalley as it was one of my most anticipated releases of the year.
I loved The Soulmate Equation and really enjoyed Fizzys character in that book and was so pleased she would be getting her own story. The premise for this book is brilliant and perfect for a romance author like Fizzy. We follow Fizzy as she is approached by television producer Conor to take part in a dating reality show. Sparks fly immediately and the two have great chemistry as they develop a friendship and new reality tv show.
I had a really fun time reading this book. There’s great characters, witty dialogue and interesting plot so this book really has it all and is a great romcom!

The True Love Experiment was absolutely delightful! I loved every second of reading it, it's my new favourite of Christina Lauren's books.
I loved Fizzy's character in The Soulmate Equation and I wanted her to get her own story so I was really happy to see her get her own book. I enjoyed how involved Jess and River were in this one too, I love when characters cross into other books!
Connor is such a great character, he's different from the typical male lead, he's just solid and steadfast, he has boundaries and always wants to try and do the right thing. He's so open and communicates really well! Fizzy is the opposite, she's blunt, bold and slightly chaotic, but they work perfectly together.
I loved their connection, it developed naturally and at a pace that felt genuine - the chemistry and banter is great, they really felt like best friends.
The premise was really well done, I've read a reality show based romance book before and I didn't like it that much. I was a bit worried going into this that it would be the same but this side of the plot was brilliant! I think Fizzy and Connor getting to know each other before filming started helped the overall feel a lot, the forced proximity and forbidden love worked perfectly.
I said this about The Soulmate Equation too, but again the single parent representation was so so good! Nat and Connor are amazing co-parents with no drama and it's refreshing to see a healthy relationship in a romance book.
All in all, The True Love Experiment was fun, sexy, flirty, sweet, and charming - everything I want in a romance book!

This book is the sequel to The Soulmate Equation and in the first book we met Fizzy as a supporting character. In this book, Fizzy is now the lead character and I loved her!
There was a lot of flirting in this book and i loved it and the banter between Fizzy and Connor was amazing and very funny! There was also a great amount of will they won’t they that all added to the tension…
The True Love Experiment was a wonderful, witty, fun, steamy, romance and the storyline was perfect - i loved it…….

I was delighted to be offered an ARC of ‘The True Love Experiment’ by Christina Lauren. The authors once again prove that they are the queens of seductive storytelling. I was hooked in straight away to Fizzy and Connor’s story. Fizzy sets herself aside as a quirky female lead with a sense of humour. Having not read the Soulmate Equation, I didn’t feel at a loss to enjoy this story. The story oozes with swoony moments of tenderness and seismic dialogue that draw the characters on an inevitable path to decisions about their future.
The concept of the reality dating show felt contemporary and added suitable challenges to the journey to true love. I did find it a departure to the vast country setting of Christina Lauren’s previous story ‘Something Wilder’ which was truely epic and stood out as an all time favourite. I also much prefer the colourful firework front cover.

Having recently read The Soulmate Equation, I knew I needed to read this sequel and it did not disappoint!
Felicity Chen (Fizzy) is the perfect main character. She's ballsy, feisty and hilarious. She's a successful romance writer who's never actually been in love, and shes wondering if "the one" even exists for her. Fizzy is struggling to write about something she no longer believes in.
Connor is a TV producer who is reluctantly making a reality TV dating show and wants Fizzy for the lead. A single dad more used to making documentaries about the planet, he's out of his depth.
The chemistry between the two is total fire from the start, and Fizzy's hilarious quips had me laughing out loud. Not forgetting all of the names she has for him (DILF, hot Brit, British McHotpants to name a few). As time goes on they realise that there's no way they can deny the attraction between them - even if Fizzy is meant to be dating 12 other men!
I do love a sequel, and catching up with Jess, June and River from The Soulmate Equation was perfect. CLo did not disappoint with this book!

I had the most amazing experience reading this book. Fizzy’s story is something I never knew I needed and Christina Lauren knocked this out of the park. If you liked the Soulmate Equation you will LOVE this.
My mind is still warm and fuzzy after reading this. I mean what could possibly happen when you have a hot (did I mention he’s British) documentary producer work on a bachelorette like show starring a best selling romance novelist. He’s supposed to be helping her find her true love on the show right?!
I was already familiar with Fizzy from the Soul mate equation and while I loved her in that she absolutely SHINES in this. The chemistry between her and Connor is unmatched and the way their romance played out was sweet, sexy and heartwarming to see. I still cannot get over their banter, I was both laughing and screaming with joy in countless pages of reading this book. They’re are also some delicious tropes I will not spoil, you’ll just have to read and see…
Also, you know when a book has a horrible third act breakup until the heroine or hero realises they messed up and then BAM, literally 15 pages later they are back together? Yeah that has been a big pet peeve of mine. And I’m not going to say this book doesn’t have that in some sense, but I loved to see both Fizzy and Connor grow together and also grow when they were apart from one another. Fizzy was brave to say the least. And the ending, I’m sure many of you will see coming, but I wouldn’t have done it any other way. I was swooning out if my *metaphorical* seat with how public and romantic those final chapters were.
This is without a doubt my new favourite Christina Lauren book, and I can’t wait for readers to discover this complete gem of a book.
Thankyou so much to NetGalley and @littlebrownbookgroup_uk for providing me with an e-arc of this book. I simply, adored it!

The True Love Experiment by Christina Lauren 📚
Thank you to @littlebrownbookgroup_uk and @netgalley for this ARC copy of The True Love Experiment.
Wow. This book. It was the sequel I always wanted and so much more.
The Soulmate Equation was on of my top books of 2022 and so when I saw this sequel I knew it was something I was probably going to love. However, I was not prepared for just how much I was going to fall head over heels in love with “Daddy Prince” but also Fizzy. I loved her in The Soulmate Equation but I adore her now. She was funny, beautiful, intelligent and above all those traits, she felt real.
I need to go back to Connor Prince, he was everything a romance reader dreams of in a Prince Charming. The chemistry between him and Fizzy was truly electric and you could feel it coming off the pages.
I loved hearing from Jess, River and Juno again and I really liked just how much of them we got in this book.
Christina Lauren never disappoint but I have to admit, this is going up there with one of my favourite Christina Lauren books ever!

Christina Lauren does it again, with a book that is a love letter to romance readers everywhere.
Fizzy Chen is an overall badass. She’s the best auntie, a fantastic friend, best-selling author and a quick-witted independent woman.
Connor Prince is a cinnamon roll that’s been left open on the side for a night. He’s a fantastic father, passionate film maker, a man who has been to therapy and extremely tall with a large… personality.
When Connor is asked to move away from making his environmental documentary, he meets Fizzy and together they create a dating show that I’d genuinely love to watch.
With cameos from our favourite ‘Soulmates’, the dating show even focuses on GenticAlley, you know you’re already going to love the side characters.
Overall this book was a fun read with characters you can’t help but fall and root for. I loved it!
Thank you NetGally and Little Brown Book Group for the ARC.

Fizzy is a romance writer that has the writer block.
Connor is the hot producer of a dating show.
First impression is that they couldn’t be more different from one another. But are they?
He’s well put together, has a British accent and did I say that his name is Connor, so just that is a plus ?
He doesn’t want to commit to a relationship or a fling but Fizzy comes along.
Fizzy has come to term with the idea that she won’t find love. There is attraction but none of them wants to act on that. They are both “scared” for different reasons.
I loved to see how Connor and Fizzy becomes friends and they fell in love.
I was laughing and screaming for the entire book.
The best part was when she tell him her “casting list” for the show, and put things like “hot nerd” and “cinnamon roll”. And he has no clue what she’s talking about 😂
I loved Fizzy family and the talk she has with her mum, where she finally understands that her family doesn’t want to change her as long as she is happy with the person she is.
Connor is her number one supporter, and the same is for Fizzy.
They encourage each others no matter what.
And let me tell you that last chapter was PERFECTION. When he finally decided that it was time to open his heart fully and what he did 😍😍😍😍😍

This Book 😭 @christinalauren I am absolutely in love with Fizzy and Connor - I can’t even put it into words.
This book is so delightful, Connor is such a wonderful MMC and Fizzy is just so relatable and endearing. I want to erase this from my memory so I can read it over and over again. To see such a healthy depiction of divorce and being a single parent, and the pressures we put on ourselves to be successful for out parents - this book has it all. Absolute five stars from me.

I absolutely love Christina Lauren’s books so I am so very excited for this addition to our ever growing Christina Lauren collection. I can’t wait to share my full thoughts soon and I love the basis for the novel and
Can’t wait to read Fizzys storyline and how she has to learn to experience the romance she do often writes abt! I can’t wait to see how her and Conor’s story unfolds (I love the single dad aspect).. Also the reality show element leaves for a juicy storyline as well.

4.5 stars
I'm so thrilled we got more of Fizzy from The Soulmate Equation, she's definitely a breath of fresh air!
I've been in a bit of a reading slump recently but the premise of this drew me in, it sounded like a fun steamy read and I'm so relieved that I was correct.
The chemistry she has with Connor had me blushing! I can't remember the last time I read a book with the characters being so connected and felt like actual soul mates.
This is definitely one you don't wanna miss out on! 🤍
Thank you for the ARC Christina Lauren, Netgalley and LBBG
