Just OK. I realized as I was getting ready to read this that it was the second book in the series. Usually I am a stickler for that, and thought about going back and picking up the first book, but frankly I was only mildly interested in it to begin with.
It took a while to get into it. And I felt like I was missing part of the story. But again, I was interested enough in the missing pieces to go back to book one.
So, maybe my experience would have been better if I would have started from the beginning of the series. But I doubt it. A big “meh” from me.

Ok, I am not really sure why I wanted to read this book. I never really read sci-fi unless I am asked to do so by an author. BUT this one was awesome. I was impressed with the authors writing ability and how well developed the characters are. The descriptive nature was awesome. You could totally picture everything in your mind. Overall, this is a great sci fi space tour de force.

Thank you to NetGalley as well as the author and publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my unbiased and honest review.

An intense sci-fi ride. Great use of a historical period to weave into this story. The action is fast paced and will grab your attention. A terrific read!
Thank you to #NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

The premise of this novel is quite good, along with the historical background necessary to understand the space race and the world political climate that added to the urgency of exploring space.
I do feel as though the characters could have had a deeper development, as I didn't feel a connection to any of them in a way that I'd expect.
The action was a slow build, but when it picked up in the final third of the book it really became interesting and I was invested in the resolution.
If you're interested in the space race, this might be something you would enjoy.
