First title by this author that I have read, and it wont be the last - well written and totally gripping!

This is a amazing twisty read kept me guessing until the end I just couldn't put it down it kept me up way past my bed time

I loved this book was such a great read. Kept me on the edge of my seat throughout, was difficult to put down!

A dark and deeply disturbing yet addictive story that as you keep reading you become more embroiled in the outcome.

I found it very hard to connect to the characters in this book. It was also a slow burner which made it easy to put down.

THE TOXIC FRIEND was a miss from the start. I read 25% of the book and genuinely had no idea what the key plot elements were, and why I was supposed to care about any of them. I don’t usually like to DNF books, but this one just didn’t seem worth the effort.

The Toxic Friend by J A Baker was excellent form start to finish especially when I find a new author that becomes a go to author and become an addictive read. The Toxic friend was a twisty friendship that was toxic and will have you gripped from the beginning till the end. It was great as I read it in one sitting so a great holiday read.
I loved it and so glad I found this author.

This gripping thriller is a masterclass in tension, making each page a heart-pounding step further into the darkness of its secrets. Loved every second of it as always with the authored work!

I had the same problem with this book as I did with my last two books by J. A. Baker. I felt like I couldn't connect to any of the characters because they all lacked development and none of them were likeable. The plot was okay in this but I felt that it was a bit overdone. I was a little surprised by the ending at least, but it wasn't enough to save the book. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book is full of plot twists and turns. It would make an excellent book club choice as the ambiguity in the storyline would make for interesting discussions.

Loved this book , such a great read , kept you on the edge of your seat throughout with lots of twists and turns. A brilliant psychological thriller, could not leave it down , right to the end you were still shocked , really recommend this book for a great easy read with lots of twists.

I was looking forward to reading The Toxic Friend but unfortunately I really did not enjoy it. It had difficult subject matter and was just too graphic for my tastes.

I loved this book, the suspense of this book kept me on my toes and constantly thinking about what would happen next. The way it is written is brilliant making you think you know what is going to happen but you actually don't. Will definitely be reading more from this author.

I almost gave up on this because the start jumped around and was hard to follow.
The plot was intriguing and kept me reading.
The Gareth and Eva situation I figured out before it was revealed, and I don't feel it was super necessary to the plot.
I liked how Eva's mother sort of redeemed herself at the end, and I wish this had ended differently.

Although I did try numerous times, I could not get passed chapter two. I just could not get into the story; I'd read a page and go to another book.

This talented author has written a cannot put down novel. Realistic characters make this book entertaining. The story moves quickly. Trying to discern the ending is somewhat difficult. Enjoy

If you haven't read anything by JA Baker start now, her books are absolutely brilliant and hard to put down once you start reading them.

Thanks to boldwood books and netgalley for this arc As i started reading it, i wasn't quite sure if i would end up finishing it..... but im sooo glad i pushed through, it was intense and i was never sure what was going to happen next, which made it exciting., definately lots of twists and turns and i ended up unable to put it down. Highley recommend so glad i read it all
