2/5 stars! I liked the first 50% of this book a lot. It involves pre-teen girls, one of whom goes missing and the other two who admit to murdering her. But around the mid-way point this went off the rails. Like how are we going to ignoring grooming and SA-ing young girls and just lock them up!?? Make it make sense.

*All the Little Liars* by Victoria Selman is an intriguing and unsettling thriller that will keep you questioning what you know until the very end. The story revolves around the mysterious disappearance of a thirteen-year-old girl, who vanishes during a party at Turtle Lake in California in 2003. The only thing left behind is the word 'LIAR' scrawled in blood, leading to a confession from three teenagers, but there’s more to this tale than meets the eye.
The narrative is cleverly split across two timelines, which really helps build the suspense. We get a glimpse of the events leading up to the disappearance, as well as the aftermath, where the confessions seem to raise more questions than they answer. The author does an excellent job of exploring the complicated dynamics between the three teenagers, especially the sisterly bond between the two girls and the toxic friendship that ultimately leads to such devastating consequences.
What I really appreciated about *All the Little Liars* is the way it plays with your expectations. You think you’ve figured out the mystery, only to have the rug pulled out from under you. The characters are well-developed, particularly the two girls at the centre of the story, and the complex emotions they experience as they navigate guilt, betrayal, and the desperate need to belong. The atmosphere is tense, and the sense of unease builds throughout, creating a feeling that something is always just out of reach.
While the plot is engaging and filled with twists, I did find some parts a bit predictable. There were moments where the characters’ motivations didn’t feel entirely convincing, leaving me wanting a bit more depth in their development. That being said, the pace of the story is fast enough to keep you hooked, and the final reveal is certainly satisfying.
Overall, I would rate *All the Little Liars* four stars. It’s a well-executed psychological thriller that explores the darker side of friendship, secrets, and betrayal. Fans of crime fiction will enjoy the mystery and the tension, even if some of the character arcs could have been fleshed out a little more.

Perfect writing with a brilliant plot that keeps you turning the pages faster than you possibly can!

What a fascinating and actually quite horrid little story!
All The Little Liars utterly taps into the teenage mind and that desperate, illogical, powerful drive to be part of something and to fit in. It pushes the boundaries on toxic relationships and how fast and loose loyalties run - mostly loyalties to the wrong person, for the wrong reason, that feel like the most important thing in life. This book really shines a light on the teenage ability to make poor decisions in the name of love.
Told from the point of view of the dead girl's sister across two timelines, the book is written like a true crime story and would possible fit well into the YA audience.
This is my first book from this author and I would be intrigued to read her other books. My thanks to the author, NetGalley and Quercus books for an ARC in return for an honest review.

This was an addictive read for me. It is the first time I have read any books by this author and I loved her style of writing and found the reading between two timelines very easy to follow. There were twists I really didn't expect and there was guilt and hatred, toxic teenage friendships and raw family emotion.
So what really did happen at Turtle Lake?… certainly not what I expected!! A great read!, Will definitely look out for more books by this author.

Positives and negatives about this book, I enjoyed the main storyline and some of the characters but it didn't really keep me engaged and it was more of a slog to get to the finish than I had expected.

I'm not always a big fan of mystery books, where there's family secrets waiting to be uncovered. But this was really well written and it was an unusual story and it definitely kept me engaged right to the end. The story was a little different than I'd expected, and there were some twists and turns, and I really enjoyed it.

Thank you Quercus Books and Netgalley for this ARC.
Having read Victoria's first book I was really looking forward to this.
Good storyline and characters but I felt it was a little YA for me - hence the 3 stars

An ok read, but a little too "young adult/teenage" for me.
Told by Kat in duel timelines, the present day and in the past when a young girl is murdered at Turtle Lake, the story explores the impact of the young girl's death on the people around them. Three 13 year old girls go to the lake and only two of them return.
It started off really well, with the impact on Kat's family very clear, after the involvement of her sister, Issy, in the death of the girl, but soon become a bit stilted and I struggled to maintain interest. The ending was quite abrupt and I felt lots more could have been made of inappropriate behaviour by one of the adults involved in the girls' lives.
I was very annoyed when Kat made a comment regarding her move to England, along the lines of that that she would maintain spelling words in the American way, rather than the incorrect way the English spell them - umm... really?
2 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Victoria Selman and Quercus for an ARC in return for an honest review.

A taut and suspenseful thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end. Prepare for a wild ride!I’m

Full review to come on Goodreads and Amazon. Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for a review copy

A beautifully trilling story that intertwines manh intriguing themes. I thouroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely want to read more by this author

My favourite new writer. This is the second book I’ve read by her and just as good as Truly, Darkly, Deeply. Very clever. I’m now waiting on the next one. Love finding great new writer. This one is a real gem. Based on true crime loosely. I found the characters are relatable and worth investing in. The worst part? When I’d finished it. Left such an impression on me.

I love a book that involves missing people. I loved this book and knew I had to read it especially after reading her other book last year. I dont want to tell you too much so you can enjoy it as much as I did.

I really enjoyed the authors previous book Truely, Darkly, Deeply but unfortunately this book didn’t work for me. I found the pacing very slow and found myself lacking in being invested in the story. I read a lot of mystery/thrillers so I think this could be a case of it’s me not the book.
Will definitely be checking out what this author does in the future.

I just couldn't connect with this one. Nothing seemed to happen. The book meandered along with absolutely nothing. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

I went into this book thinking it was going to be a fast paced whodunit, but at the 35ish% mark, still nothing had happened. Just a whole lot of exploring the past. No relevant development and such.

I absolutely love a thriller; every who knows me knows this. As usual I devoured this within days and loved every moment!!

A very readable thriller exploring what might drive two young girls to murder their best friend. I don't think it quite reached its full potential but I enjoyed it enough to read the last 80% in one go.

All The Little Liars by Victoria Selman is a fascinating read about three young girls of thirteen that alls neck away to a party at Carlsbad’s Turtle Lake and only two girls return.
What happened and why would two teenage girls murder their friend and did they really murder Her or was someone else there at the time?
An interesting story merging the past and present and who did what and why, before the truth is finally told.
Highly recommended
