Burning Bright Without Burning Out is a fantastic pocket guide to understanding burnout.

Topics covered include what is burnout, the impact in has on the individual as well as the wider teams and organisation, as well as the cause of burnout and how it can be prevented. The book also looks at how the new remote working has amplified burnout.

The book draws upon scientific studies and is also interactive with quizzes so that you can understand where you are and how to deal with certain situations.

I really enjoyed this book and thought it was a useful reminder – especially in our remote working/advanced technological (meaning we are always on) world. We often think working hard is incredibly productive but if someone ends up off with burnout it can have a major impact on a business and yet sometimes the simplest things can prevent it e.g. ensuring staff take a regular break.

I think all managers should take a read and think about what changes they can make to their work culture to prevent burnout.

This book was super in-depth and looked at burnout from many different angles. I like the way it took the angle of employer and how best to support employees and things to look out for/warning signs.
There were of course some common sense parts, but on the whole it was really unique.
The book includes multiple quizzes so that readers can identify different things about themselves, and how best to deal with certain situations.

Overall, this was a super interesting read and there was a lot to take away!

I really enjoyed this book, found a great niche for a workbook style book and I learned a lot reading this book. It did feel a little repetitive at times, but I could ignore that and enjoy the rest of the book.
