Thank you to Netgalley for my copy. As a big Alice Feeney fan I couldn't wait to read this but I have ended up reading Beautiful Ugly before this!!
I found it difficult at the beginning to remember who was who and who was related to who, there was a few characters talking from their POV in a short space of time and I found it difficult to get to know them and who they were.
It was one of those books that when I put it down, I couldn't remember what I had read before and found it hard to get back into it.
I liked the storyline and it definitely kept me on my toes, however I didnt love it. I really enjoy reading thrillers and the twists but I just felt there was something missing from this, it didnt have the massive shock factor. Still a good read but not my favourite of hers

GOOD BAD GIRL starts with a bang -- a child abduction right in front of the mother. 20 years later, we meet Edith, who is been placed in a nursing home by her daughter Clio. She has an ally in one of the home's aides, Patience, who has secrets of her own. When a murder happens in the home, things get dangerous for everyone!
The book takes time to get going, so I was struggling at first to keep track of the characters and how they're connected. But eventually the storylines intertwine and the characters' interaction with each other makes sense. I like how it explores the ups and downs of mother-daughter relationships, and how there is no "good girl" or "bad girl", because these women live in the grey areas. This is less a murder mystery and more a family drama. While the story kept me entertained as I tried to figure everything out, I think it could have been less convoluted towards the end. Fans of books about complicated family relationships will enjoy this!

Great book! Riveting storyline full of mystery and intrigue. Lots of twisty turns, a fab read. Brilliant ending.

This was a brilliant read. Brilliant storyline and great characters. The twists and turns were perfect. Another fab read from Alice Feeney and highly recommended.
Thank you Netgalley.

A Riveting Tale of Twists and Turns - 5 Stars
Alice Feeney has done it again! *Good Bad Girl* is a masterclass in suspense, intrigue, and unexpected revelations that had me utterly hooked from the very first page. Feeney’s talent for creating complex, flawed characters who keep you guessing is on full display in this gripping thriller.
The story starts with a chilling premise – a woman murdered in a care home, and the mystery surrounding the disappearance of a baby twenty years prior. We are introduced to Edith, a woman who’s been tricked into a nursing home, and Patience, the care worker with secrets of her own. As these two characters form an unlikely bond, the plot thickens with twists that made me question everything I thought I knew.
Feeney’s signature style is ever-present, blending past and present, building tension layer by layer. The dynamic between Edith and Patience is both heartwarming and unsettling, and as the mystery deepens, so do the layers of distrust between the characters. With every page, the stakes grow higher, and just when I thought I had figured it all out, Feeney dropped another bombshell that turned the story on its head.
The narrative is laced with Feeney's trademark surprises. The pacing is fast, but not so quick that it loses its careful build-up. I loved how every character – from Edith’s estranged daughter, Clio, to the shadowy figures lurking in the background – plays a pivotal role in piecing together the dark secrets of the past. And the ending? A twist that left me speechless.
*Good Bad Girl* is a thrilling rollercoaster of emotions, a tale about guilt, betrayal, and the lengths we’ll go to for redemption. Alice Feeney once again proves why she’s the Queen of Twists. If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat, this book is an absolute must-read.

Alice Feeney, an author known for her shocking twists, delivers another gripping and intricately woven mystery with Good Bad Girl. Blending psychological suspense with emotional depth, Feeney’s latest novel unravels the lives of four women connected by secrets, lies, and a twenty-year-old crime.
The story begins with two seemingly unrelated events: a baby stolen from a pushchair two decades ago and the murder of a woman in a care home. At the heart of this tangled web is Edith, a sharp and determined eighty-year-old who’s plotting her escape from the nursing home where she feels trapped. By her side is Patience, a caretaker who seems to be Edith’s ally—but Patience’s life is built on a foundation of lies.
Clio, Edith’s estranged daughter, is struggling with her own demons, refusing to reconcile with her mother. Meanwhile, an unexpected visitor with dark intentions disrupts Clio’s life, adding another layer of tension to the narrative.
As the characters’ lives intersect, Feeney masterfully peels back layers of deception to reveal a mystery with three suspects, two murders, and one life-altering truth. The novel explores themes of forgiveness, motherhood, and the lengths people will go to protect those they love, even if it means crossing moral boundaries.
What sets Good Bad Girl apart is Feeney’s ability to keep readers guessing until the final pages. Each chapter is packed with revelations, shifting perspectives, and emotional depth, making it impossible to predict where the story is headed. The women at the center of the novel are complex, flawed, and utterly compelling, their relationships driving the heart of the story.
With its trademark twists, richly developed characters, and a mystery that keeps unraveling until the very end, Good Bad Girl solidifies Alice Feeney’s reputation as a master of suspense. This is a must-read for fans of psychological thrillers and stories that keep you questioning who you can trust.

Alice Feeney’s “Good Bad Girl” is a captivating psychological thriller that keeps you guessing until the very end. The story revolves around four intriguing women whose lives intertwine in unexpected ways, exploring themes of motherhood, secrets, and the blurred lines between right and wrong.
Feeney’s writing is engaging and fast-paced, with well-developed characters that feel authentic and complex. The plot is intricate and cleverly constructed, weaving together multiple narratives that slowly reveal the connections between a decades-old child abduction and a present-day murder.
What I particularly enjoyed was the character of Edith, an 80-year-old nursing home resident with a sharp wit and determination that adds both humor and heart to the story. The mother-daughter relationships explored throughout the book are poignant and relatable.
While the twists and turns can be dizzying at times, the payoff is well worth it. “Good Bad Girl” is a thrilling read that will keep you up late turning pages.

I struggled to get into this one, it just didn’t grip me the way I expected it to but would be interested in reading other books by this author.

Always a huge fan of Alice Feeney - this is just another BRILLIANT book! Does not disappoint, can confirm!

This is yet another fantastic thriller by Alice Feeney. It has been sitting on my shelf for a while and I now wish that I had read it sooner. There were plenty of twists to keep me guessing.

Another great book by Alice Feeney! This is told in different POV’s and I enjoyed the way everything tied together. Every time I thought the twist was done there was something else waiting round the corner. I especially loved Edith’s character and the ending was great.

Sometimes bad things happen to good people, so good people have to do bad things.
Alice Feeney’s Good Bad Girl is a layered, twisty thriller that keeps you guessing until the very end. Feeney’s knack for crafting tangled narratives is on full display here, with three generations of women connected by a series of unexpected events that explore themes of motherhood, guilt, and identity.
The novel revolves around a kidnapping that took place twenty years ago, and its ripples across time. We meet a conflicted young woman, a care home escapee, and a daughter searching for answers. Feeney weaves together their lives with the precision of a puzzle master, leading the reader down one path only to take sharp turns into the unexpected.
The beauty of Feeney’s writing lies in her ability to breathe life into flawed, complicated characters. No one is entirely good or bad, hence the title, and the exploration of these moral shades adds depth to the suspense.
However, the novel’s fragmented structure may feel disorienting at times. As perspectives shift, the timeline can feel a bit jumbled. But stick with it, Feeney masterfully ties everything together in a finale that is both surprising and deeply satisfying.
Good Bad Girl is perfect for fans of psychological thrillers with complex, female-led narratives. If you love a story where the truth is only revealed in layers, this book should be on your list.

Twenty years after a baby is stolen from a pram in a supermarket a woman is murdered in a care home and somehow the two incidents are linked. This story follows the POVs of Edith an 80 year old living in the care home, Patience her 18 year old carer, Clio Edith's daughter and Frankie who works in a prison library. This had me gripped from the first page and I flew through this in a couple hours this was full of twists and turns and I never knew where this was going. This deals with some heavy topics really well too I highly recommend if you're looking for a fast paced thriller

This was quite an enjoyable read. It was really interesting seeing the narrative lines come together for the big conclusion.
For me, it didn't do anything hugely shocking. It was a little more pyschological thriller than I expected. And, I didn't care a huge amount for the characters we met.
Having said that, this is a solid 3 stars for me - which is a 'good' book that jusr fell short of being great.

This author never fails to deliver and this was one of her best. A thriller of a story, twists and turns and thrills galore, really enjoyed this book.

I love this author and have read every book so far and will continue to do so
As always wonderful characters and a gripping story line with plenty of twists and turns
Would highly recommend

Found this quite dull in all honesty. It never felt like anything dramatic happened, and it confused me a couple of times. I was intrigued enough to finish, but wouldn’t say I was enthralled by it.

I like Alice Feeney’s books but this one was really confusing. I’m not sure if it was just me but I couldn’t keep up with who was who. I needed to make notes on who was who in the present tense and the past. I couldn’t cope. It was an ok read but not my fav by her.

Such a fab read! Loving Feeney's newer books! Thought I had Poirot'd it all out but I hadn't, which makes it all the better.
4.5*
Thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the eArc in exchange for an honest review.

A fantastic thriller, really keeps you guessing. It takes a little while to piece together the different narratives but then it comes together nicely. Some really good twists.
