If you like TL, this book is for you. I always love her MMC’s and Henley James is no different. He is a deliciously filthy talking, tortured hero and a big reason I enjoyed the book.

This is the first book in a series about the homeowners of Kingston Lane and you are introduced to what I assume will be all the main players in the series. The boys were pretty much manwhores so it’ll be interesting to see how their stories play out.

I was disappointed in the FMC and did not connect with her. (Also, the word “goofily” or “goofy” appears way too many times here) She plays too many games with Henley at the expense of other people’s feelings (Taryn, Warren, Joel…) and just felt very immature. I wished Juliet would’ve addressed the absolutely ridiculous way that Henley ghosted her 3 years prior, and then his getting mad at HER when literally did a wham/bam/thank you ma’am.

The spice is DEFINITELY spicy and so well done, especially Hen’s dominant side. I wasn’t prepared for the book to hit me in the feels in the last 20%, and my heart hurt for poor Henley. I liked the mental health rep and discussions around Henley’s grief and trauma responses. I did feel like the book ended a little abruptly and needed a couple more pages, especially the thing with Jenny - although my assumption is that perhaps she is going to show up in another book down the line.

Overall, it was an enjoyable read but wasn’t my favorite TL book.

*I decided this book as an advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

I loved this book.

Juliet and Henley have an instant attraction, eyes meet across a ballroom, Henley asks Juliet out, they share the perfect first date and passionate night ending with promises of more of the same the following night, it’s perfect. Only it’s not! It’s 3 years later when they meet again and things are very frosty between them.

The banter between these two is brilliant. Henley wants nothing more than to never have to see Juliet again but she’s now his next door neighbour. He’s abrasive and grumpy and although he says he doesn’t want her he can’t help acting possessive, which I love. Juliet is a worthy opponent, she’s funny and feisty, easily pushing all of Henley’s buttons, add Barry the dog to the mix for more hilarity.

As Juliet learns more about Henley she realises how complicated he is and the reasons behind his behaviour. She’s determined to make him realise they’re more than just neighbours with benefits. The story pulls you in, tugs at your heart and activates the tear ducts with all the emotional healing that’s needed.

The friendship group is great, I’m totally invested and in need of more from all the Kingston Lane characters. It’s a brilliant opener to a new series and I can’t wait for more.

I am still thinking about this book a week later, and still do not think I can write a proper review, but I am gonna try!

Henley James is an engineer and a major playboy. He meets Juliett at a gala and after staring at each from across the room, he comes over and asks her out. They go out, have an amazing evening, spend the night together and he says he will call her...

Yeah 🤨... ya know, and that's that.
Henley James is dead to Juliette, and vice versa(yes, he is mad at her too. Just wait!)

3 years later, she has bought a house on Kingston lane, a beautiful cul de sac, with. a neighbors that are like family to each other. Much to Juliette's dismay, her only negative to the house is one of her new neighbors, Henley.

The push and pull is strong in this one. I was laughing so much at the over the top jealousy, the banter, the internal thoughts and all the extra hilarity the other neighbors brought to the story. I cannt wait to see more of the residents of Kingston Lane.

These two want each other so bad, but Henley comes with a Miles Brother jet full of emotional baggage, and Juliette can't stay away. She is such a strong FMC ,but so weak for Henley. 🫠
The sexual tension, and chemistry was hot. And there is plenty of spice. Henley reminds me a lot of Jamison. 😏 if you catch my drift.

Ugh I ate this up like turkey day dinner.

I was terribly excited when I found out I had received an ARC of this book. As a HUGE fan of all things TL Swan I couldn’t wait to read this new series.

And Henley and Juliet didn’t disappoint. Steam, banter, fun supporting players and LOTS of angst, plus some real heart tugging moments made this a great read.

If you have loved Swan’s other characters, you’ll certainly love these new Kingston Lane additions. And super bonus points for the map at the beginning of the book - I LOVED it!!

I loved many parts of this book so much. The enemies who really love eachother to lovers was so good. The tension was incredible. The spice was top notch. He’s so damaged it’s so hot and the found family was amazing. I’m so ready for the rest of the series.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
However I have a few things I didn’t love.
1. “Are you creamy for me?” This unlocked a new ick for me.
2. Our FMC played mind games with him and it felt immature and then also dragged out. I didn’t need so many chapters of her games especially with point number 3.
3. The ending was way too rushed. I could’ve used like 1 less scene with Tayren or whatever the bitch was and got more from the ended like we got no conclusion on that drama?? I needed all the drama thankyouverymuch hopefully we get more in book 2!

I didn’t love the premise of the story or how it played out. I felt like the heroine was way too desperate for attention and I love when the hero is the one obsessed with the heroine. Not the other way around.

WOWZAH She did it again!!!! This book was everything the tension the banter.

She never fails to entertain me. I honestly felt like I wasn’t reading.

I loved Henley and Juliette. She was strong and said something every time Henley did something. They were perfect together. They brought out the best in each other. I experienced every emotion she never fails to make me laugh, the humor in this book was 🤌🏼. The spice was something else 🥵

This book was a lot. Their was miscommunication, people getting hurt, push and pull with the mcs, self sabotage.Henleys struggles was interesting to read and I lived for it.

The side character were EVERYTHING the shock I got in this book WOW their are certain characters I want to end up together and I can’t wait for them.

Tropes:
* Second chance romance
* Next door neighbor

Thank you TL Swan for the early copy of this book. I am a huge TL Swan fan and I can't wait for the rest of the books in this series!

Henley James definitely is complex and has some underlying PTSD from losing someone important to him. He doesn't want love, he is very much more of a playboy who won't settle down.. AT FIRST. ;)

Juliet Drinkwater has met Henley before and thought they had the best first date ever, but then she doesn't hear from him again and this spoils how she previously viewed him. They meet again later, only for Juliet to be the only one who remembers their past encounter.

These two end up becoming neighbors and enemies for a little it too lol. Their banter was really fun and I did enjoy this book!

I think there were a few things that I didn't love unfortunately and there were cringey moments that had me a little confused as I have read some previous books by TL Swan and had never encountered some of the word usage that I did in this one. So I did get the ick over the word creamy specifically.. just to point that out. And there were definitely a few others but that's just the one I can think of off the top of my head. I also didn't love a little tid bit at the end with his secretary. I was glad he turned her down but he seriously checked her out and thought in his head how good her breasts and body looked?! At 99%?!?!?! Before turning her down.. I was like, "WHAT?" So that pissed me off a little but of course I was glad he stayed loyal over all.

I'm definitely excited for the next book, I really loved all of the side characters which doesn't always happen so I feel like that is definitely a plus!

To be fair, I also have high expectations after TL Swan wrote THE LEGEND that is Tristan Miles. I don't think anyone will ever top him for me. <3

My Temptation by T.L Swan is the first book in her new scorthing Kingston Lane series. I was thrilled to receive a copy of this book to read and review. This book has it all, Ms. Swan has written a great captivating story, which kept me turning pages till wee hours in the morning. Henley James is possessive, grumpy, a bit broken but a total alphamale. Juliet is feisty, sassy, strong and hilarious! I loved their banter, push - pull tension which kept burning the pages! Their chemistry is off the charts. Ms. Swan introduces so many new characters, most of whom I think will get their own story. This is a great start to a new series!

Welcome to Kingston Lane...the cul-de-sac where the residents are beautiful and complicated people. TL hits us hard with the spice right off the bat...and naively I thought it would be an instant love situation but I was wrong SOOOOOO wrong.

Fast forward in time, Juliet has bought her dream house on Kingston Lane. She is so excited to renovate and settle in, get a dog and just thrive, but fate has other plans for her. Her neighbors are gorgeous...and one just happens to be the man who ghosted her after the best date and sex of her life....Henley mother f*cking James.

Henley doesn't do relationships, keeps things casual and if he even gets a whiff of feelings he's out...he has a burner phone for women for goodness sake run by his PA. But suddenly Juliet Drinkwater is his new neighbor and he is losing his mind.

Both of these characters have issues and complex layers. The back and forth and will they or won't they was a wild ride. I forgot how TL keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time....and I mean the whole time.

It's safe to say I'm emotionally invested in Kingston Lane and it's residents...so just casually counting down until TL gives us the details on book two 😍

My Temptation is the 1st book in the Kingston Lane Series. Tee knocked it out the park right from the start. This book was fun, sexy, sassy, angsty and kept me on slight edge till the very end.
Juliet is a smart, sassy, successful woman who knows what she wants. Love the fact that she’s a nurse. Henley James in true fashion is an alphahole. He’s so smart, a true businessman. He’s sweet, smooth, debonair, charismatic but has that playful sarcasm, possessive, grumpy and very broken. His traumatic past doesn’t help him. I loved him but he also pissed me off at times.
A perfect first date gone wrong, and three years later these two enemies are next door neighbors. Both still very much attracted to each other. Drawing the very fine line between love and hate. Loved the banter, push, pull, sizzling angsty chemistry. They push each others buttons so well. I love that Juliet is able to read Henley so well and gives it back to him. But, at times it complicates things. The complexity of the characters and the story line will have you at the edge trying to figure out the storyline. Henley’s story will pull at your heart strings. The supporting characters provided the comedic relief at times in the book. And, the ending will keep you guessing till the very end.
I loved Barry too, he was the sweetest companion. I wonder who from the neighbors will star in the next book. I have a feeling of who it might be but I can’t wait to see if I’m right. Great read as always. I can’t wait to listen to the audiobook.

Henley is grumpy and not able commit to anyone because he has trauma from losing his mother at a young age. Until Juliet moves in next door and he can’t resist the temptation he had years ago.

This is t a second or third chance romance. He was given so many chances to make the relationship work and he was so selfish and had temper tantrums with almost everything. I think he was suppose to be grumpy but he was so hot and cold with always one foot out the door in the relationship that it was infuriating. I was enjoying this until the last few chapters and then it just felt rushed.

“It’s him. It’s always been him . . .”

What would happen if you moved into your dream house only to find out your new next door neighbor was the man who ghosted you three years ago after an amazing date?

Well….that’s what happened to Juliet.

This one was a rollercoaster of a read guys. It hurt my feelings a little bit 😂
I was team Juliet all the way. Henley was an infuriating butthead. Though he managed to turn things around.

I did enjoy the growth of Henleys character, we love a man going to therapy 👏
And even though I wanted Juliet to smack him silly, she never gave up on him.
Which I suppose I can respect.

Review: This is the first book in TL Swan's new Kingston Lane series. This was a great setup, and look into this new world. I can't wait for more! First up, we have Juliet and Henley.

Juliet is a nurse who just bought her dream home, in need of renovations galore. Henley just so happens to be her infuriating new neighbor, oh, and the man who slighted her. The back and forth between these two! The banter! Oh my gosh, I wanted to strangle Henley multiple times. He was a slow learner, and I think Juliet should have made him work more for it, but they made it to their HEA. Juliet was the woman for him with her patience and ability to identify when he put those walls up. She was the only one who could take her hammer to them. Barry may have stolen the show a few times. Henley's reaction to him was THE BEST! Love him! I enjoyed the side characters and the laughs and drama they added. I am really hoping that Rebecca and Blake are next.😏🤞 Blake is something else and not normally my cup of tea, but I am SOOOOO ready for this man to fall!😁

Ms Swan is always a one click author for me and this story does not disappoint. Juliet and Henley had a brief relationship many years before she moves to her new house only to discover that Henley is her new neighbor. A man she never forgot but also never wanted to see again. Henley is emotionally damaged and you will love watching the development of their new relationship. Cannot wait to read the story’s of the other characters on Kingston Lane we meet in this story!

Entering T.L. Swan's Kingston Lane series, I immersed myself in a world of luxury, desire, and romance. Juliet Drinkwater's first encounter with Henley James is mesmerizing, with undeniable chemistry. While Juliet's inner thoughts had me laughing, the repetitive nature of their exchanges became a bit tiresome for my liking. It's a quick and engaging read with scorching chemistry, and I was left wanting more and felt the ending was a bit rushed. Nonetheless, I eagerly await the next book in the series.

Absolutely love this book from start to finish I was hooked the characters are so well written I actually felt like I knew them the storyline was written so well I didn’t want it to end.you won’t understand this until you have read the book but the whole friendship groups that are going on in this book I absolutely love and was laughing out loud at some of it 10 out of 10 for me

My Temptation follows Tee as she moves into her dream fixer-upper on a small street with half a dozen houses. It's a cute little community, and everything seems idyllic.
Until her neighbor turns out to be Henley James. A year ago, she went on the most PERFECT date ever with Henley James. His personality was divine, he was attentive, and she broke her rules and went home with him for the most perfect sex of her LIFE. Everything was amazing...for both of them. So why did he break their date the next day? And why did her best friend take a video of him out trolling for girls at 'the' up-and-coming nightclub?
Like every book of TL Swan's, she puts together this amazing conflict, humor, and amazing characters. Then, you see the two MCs deal with this unbearable conflict, and they begin to make headway until BOOM. A terrible and unbeatable problem appears out of nowhere. Then, this reader ends up crying like a baby (always! always I'm freakin' crying! no matter if I say...not this time, noo not this time).
Then...EUREKA! A solution is worked in a surprising way. TL is sneaky...I'm usually very good at deciphering what's going to happen next. But she gets me every time!
Then... a glorious happy ending. And more crying for this reader.
I'm really excited to see a lot of potential for future books considering what's going on in the neighborhood. It should be fun :)

Wow!
This story takes us to Kingston Lane, a cul-de-sac where everyone is good friends and meet up on a regular basis. After Juliet’s date with a dream man who told her he’d call and take her out on another date ended badly when he didn’t call, she’s over him, 3 years later she’s moving into her dream house on Kingston Lane and who happens to be her new neighbour none other than her date from 3 years ago who didn’t call.
The only way I can describe Henley is he’s a troubled soul, feels he can’t fall in love because they’ll be taken from him like his mother was, the love he showed his dad although he was stuck in the past was heartbreaking.
Juliet was not going to go away, she was trying so hard to show Henley that love can conquer all.
This book was a complete rollercoaster, would they get together or wouldn’t they, I was having my doubts sometimes whether it would actually happen, especially after Juliet sleepily told Henley she loved him, that just about tipped him over the edge.
There was some really funny parts to this book as well, the secondary characters were a hoot and let’s not forget Barry 😂 can’t wait for the next instalment which I presume will be about one of Henley’s friends either Blake or Antony next.
I was lucky to receive a copy from the author and this is my honest review.
