A fast paced, action packed book which answers the perennial question about why we always end up with odd socks instead of pairs!

Danny and his best friend are thrown into the adventure of a lifetime when Danny's grandad falls ill and needs him to help to look after 'things' at his office. Danny had no idea what secrets his grandad was hiding until he ends up finding an Interdimensional Lost Property Office at the back of an old locker. Upon discovering a plethora of creatures who have fallen through worm holes and need returning to their own dimension, Danny and Modge soon realise they need to enlist the help of Inaaya, Danny's nemesis and super bossy cousin, with her amazing brain, to safely deliver the creatures, avoid the wrath of Mrs A (think giant purple squid on a segway!), solve a mystery and save the multiverse to make Danny's grandad proud.

A sci-fi fantasy for children age 9+, a coming of age story and a high octane intergalactic adventure all rolled into one, we loved it. Plus we finally have an answer for where all of our plastic tub lids disappear to, along with our missing socks!

Thank you to NetGalley and Farshore for sending us this audiobook for review. All opinions are our own.

Danny is happy enough messing around the estate with his best friend, helping out his granddad in his workshop and avoiding his annoying cousin as much as possible. Then his grandad gets ill and he finds out exactly how much more there is to his job! This was a really fun sci-fi adventure through many different worlds. Lots of unusual creatures and amazing lost items from other dimensions, and some seriously creepy baddies. The narrator has a great voice, Modge always made me smile.

Fabulously fun sci-fi adventure - perfect for readers 9+. I love the idea of an Interdimensional Lost Property Office where all those bits and bobs from the back of the sofa end up! Reminiscent of Gareth P Jones' Space Crime Conspiracy and Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Filled with humour with a dash of real-life drama, I can't wait for book 2.

WHAT a book this is! An absolute cracker of a story. Hilarious, pacy, wild and whacky with surprises at every turn. Lorraine Gregory has created something amazing here.

INTERDIMENSIONAL EXPLORERS is the start of a multi-verse adventure for children.

I loved that the book is not about kids finding themselves part of some interdimensional baddie-fighting-force but a complex lost and found department. Not only is it a really different job to have in fiction but it's also celebrating the sort of jobs that often get overlooked. And despite this less obviously heroic job, the kids save the day using their wits and lost-and-found skills to the best of the abilities.

And while they're doing all of that? Well, they get to explore the multiverse. We have wild and wacky worlds here, full of imagination and brilliant creatures. I look forward to exploring more worlds in books to come.

Danny, the narrator, is a mixed-race kid from a council estate, which is so nice to see in a book. This is a book that takes the stereotypes about council estates and explores the reality - the lack of council investment in services, the communities living there, and more. I grew up at the intersection of two estates, with another two really close by, and it just felt like my neighbourhood.

Adonis Siddique takes the book (written with such voice - you can hear the kid coming across so clearly) and brings it to life. Danny, Modge, and Inaaya all have their own accents, and I loved hearing it celebrate a part of life that's often ignored or looked down on.

This is a strong start to the series, with more instalments to come!

The audio version of this children’s book allows you to listen to a fast paced fantasy/Sci-fi adventure. Goodies, baddies, villains and a multitude of exotic locations and life forms, some very cute and others less so. I thought the first few chapters suggested a boys book, but then the story expands and I’m sure all children will enjoy the book. Thank you to Harper Collins Audio UK and NetGalley for the audio ARC. Entertaining sci-fi concept for KS2 readers.

For those who enjoy fast-moving and exciting stories with characters working together against darker forces.

The tale starts off fairly benignly - Danny's cousin has moved into his council estate home unexpectedly, always doing her homework and looking down her nose at him. Best friend Modge is easy-going but not exactly a help. His granddad, a caretaker whom Danny loves, has asked Danny to help with a project, for which Danny is late to show up. Danny is thus distraught after his granddad suffers a heart attack, leaving his grandson with cryptic messages ana asking him to help while he's not there.

Feeling guilty, of course Danny is going to try... until he finds out his granddad has been hiding a cosmic lost property office in his workshop and Danny is now responsible for returning all manner of lost things around different dimensions to their rightful places.

Calling Modge and space nerd Inaava in as backup, Danny has to get to grips with his new job, his new boss (a purple squid on a segway) and what could be a nefarious scheme to dominate the multiverse through lost property.

A different kind of sci-fi story (though reminded me a little of the Strangeways Travel Agency), with some pre-teen issues (Modge and Inaava having issues that Danny just isn't seeing) and some teamwork needed to solve the mysteries and problems, it's pacey and a good visual adventure.

Wasn't sure about the narrator's voice for Modge (a bit too 'dim' sounding), but works well on an audio format and voices other characters well.

For ages 8-12.

With thanks to Netgalley for providing a sample audio copy.
