A heartfelt and introspective novel. There is family drama and deep emotional resonance, exploring relationships that are layered with secrets. Moving and beautifully written.

I'm not really sure how to rate this. I've never read a book that was such a SLOG to get through - I'd think I'd read 50 pages when it had really only been 10!! However it was also moving and sad and I think (?!) I'm glad I finished it.

I really enjoyed the way this one is written…going back and forth from the present story of a man’s parents battling old age, dementia, moving, and lots of changes while remembering the past and their past relationship between father and son.

I really liked how the author described the complicated feelings we can have about our parents and how it shapes much of our lives. The book was emotional but not sappy, and the ending was realistic.
