Well, what a positive book that I would encourage all kids to read. The aim of trying to make the world a better place is just beautiful. Showing kids how to support others in situations that they could do themselves is great… what a great fictional role model

Becky Bexley is a child genius who knows a lot more than some of the adults around her! Becky uses her knowledge to help make the world a better place, and she has a lot of ideas about exactly how to do that.

Becky takes the time to engage with others and to assist them in finding solutions to their challenges, even when they're initially a bit sceptical about her suggestions.

Her ideas have a sound scientific basis, and young readers may find it very useful to see how Becky deals with common problems. I do think the story would have benefited from a stronger focus on showing rather than telling, because there is a lot of that in this book.

From helping a boy who is being bullied, to improving her schools anti-bullying strategy, this girl has a lot to say about what's going on around her. And her bright ideas take her all the way to the White House. But will anyone listen to her there?

First of all, I want to thank the author and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Trying to make the world a better place by Diana Holbourn is coming out on june 26, 2023.

This new series that is going to follow Becky is going to be an amazing read for the younger generation. Becky knows exactly what to do to make the world a better place and she’s determined to do just that!
