This book caught my surprise. The pacing is good, and it is a solid standalone fantasy. I wish we had been shown more examples of Martia is clever and not just told about it (ex: how she escapes her guards and stepfather). Overall, I truly enjoyed being in this world.

This book follows the story of Martia, an orphan who is raised by dissidents in a secret village.
After sneaking off to Abyselous one night to assassinate the King who had killed her parents, Promanthea, the leader of Promapple, adopts Martia as his own to train as the best assassin to take his place as leader one day.

One day on a dare from her friends, she returns to Abyselous to steal a token from a royal guard as proof that she escaped Promapple again. While exploring the city she meets the prince and they fall instantly in love with each other. They then work on a plan to spend the rest of their lives together in peace and harmony where there is no crime or war.

The book is a love story in all forms. You have a romantic love story, found family love, found friendship love and a love for your people and nation.

If you like to get your heart ripped into pieces then I would highly recommend this book, I like my heart in one piece and the devastation is just too much for me.
The fantasy element was almost non-existent, I think magic is used and mentioned once throughout the book. It does have a lot of action and gave me the feel of a martial arts television series which was good.

This book is very violent and has many triggers so please check for those.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
A huge thank you to Netgalley for this e-arc.

This book was good. I really loved the cover, that is what first drew me to the book. It didn't hold my interest as much as I hoped it would, this might be due to other distractions. Will try to read it again at some point.

Thanks netgalley for a review copy.

The cover pulled me in right away and believe me the story will pull you in too!
I don't want to ruin or say too much but know you will fall in love with every character in it (the prince for sure!).
I will keep checking out what the writer will publish in the future.

A big thanks to NetGalley and Notion Press for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

..........Can we take a moment to appreciate that cover? Because I feel like it needs to be framed.

To Make the World Beautiful for You by Kalyani Singh is a fantasy novel about a girl named Martia living in Promapple, a village where highly trained dissidents live in open rebellion against Zarek, king of Abyselous. Martia's courage impresses Promanthae, the enlightened despot whose iron will and instruction have made Promapple and its inhabitants so redoubtable, and he trains Martia as a lethal assassin. Martia then eventually declared as the leader of Promapple, whose mission is to kill all the royals and place a citizen -- preferably a Promappler__on the throne. But when Martia meets the Prince of the kingdom who turns out to be a peaceful, compassionate healer, an epitome of humanity, she falls in love with him and declares war against her deadly village, the castle and even herself, just to save the little hope and love she found only in the Prince.

This book, was everything I ever wanted and more. Star crossed lovers, powerful female protagonist, and a literal assassination attempt. And don't even get me started on layer upon layer of plot twists that keep the pages constantly turning. This book is everything, and you know you need to read. Especially if you're a fan of a love interest that will literally do anything for their lover.

It was really interesting, but unfortunetly it wasn't the right book for me.
The writing was the biggest issues for me and it took me a really long time to get really in to the story. The atmosphere was basically nonexistent. The characters were really unlikable.
And well the romance was there.
The premise was great but the rest...
Just give it a try, maybe you'll like it better than me.

I am the kind of person that 99% time finishes a book to give it it's best shot, but this book made it so hard.

I did finish it, I can't say it got better at the end, it felt very messy. Personally I think the writing was the biggest issues for me, but the characters also felt kinda flat and narrow-minded, the atmosphere was unpleasant and the book really needed some TW (I'm not the kind of person that gets triggered, but after reading books that had list of TW I feel like more books should do that). The romance gave me the ick and it didn't feel natural in anyway

I'll however give it two stars, not one because I think the idea at it's core it's not a bad one, but the book still needs a lot of work and maybe less killing (yes, I know it's about an assassin, but that doesn't mean she has to be a mindless killing machine)

This book was very good. The romance was perfectly done. The politics was very well done. I would highly recommend this book.

An adventure with an orphan turned warrior, intrigue and regime changes and, of course, a love story between the assassin and the brother of her royal target. The prose is clumsy and the story moves in fits and starts. For a first novel, it barely makes the mark in this reader's opinion. We can hope that the plot ideas can be more eloquently expressed in future novels.

This was not the book for me. There are some writing styles, I can not get through and this was one of them. Not to say this will not be the book for you. I know a lot of people that would prefer this writing style over some. I recommend you try the book for yourself and I how you fall in love with this author's amazing story. One that they worked hard and poured their heard into.

This was a really enticing book, looking solely at the cover and its summary. Jumping into it, like the cover and summary the book was wonderfully written and the author does an incredible job of creating a magical realm that as the reader, you can just dive right into. It was a perfect fantasy thriller type book that continued to keep me on my toes the entire time I read it. It's the type of book you can't put down until you get to the very end.

The characters, the plot, and the world-building were all done with such perfect precision that you can tell just by the way this book reads! It was absolutely perfect.
