Another incredible installment for the Rebel Girls books! I have loved literally every single installment. The advice a lot of the women gave was wonderful and I know little me would’ve kept it tucked in my heart.

Thank you to Rebel Girls for inviting me to read an early copy of this book.

Right off the bat, this book is a lot longer than the previous Rebel Girls books and may deter some readers. There are a variety of participants which I appreciated and there were a lot of projects that I hadn't heard of. I do wish the author bios were at the beginning of the entries so I had an idea of who was writing.

In this edition, several of the entries weren't there and it didn't look like it was going to be released until publication day.

This is hands down one of my favorite books to come from Rebel Girls. It is inspiring stories and words of encouragement for girls (or anyone) of all ages. The words come from 125 celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, CEOs, activists, artists, writers, adventurers, STEM leaders, and more. It is not a book that needs to read all at once but pick a person and read some words to boost your confidence or help you reach for you own goals. This is geared for upper elementary and middle schoolers but the messages are inspiring for any age. I can easily see it on my library shelf. Thank you to NetGalley and Rebel Girls for the temporary ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

Once again, Rebel Girls has come up with a terrific resource for growing girls. Dear Rebel contains well over 100 essays from women of all ages from all over the globe, giving their advice and thoughts to young readers. Most of the women will not be familiar to readers but their words are beautiful and inspiring.

As one woman says: “Remember, you don’t owe anyone anything. Live your life as your authentic self. Be kind, trust your instincts, find rest when you’re tired, and always … always put yourself first.”

And some advice from another woman: “It’s never too late to change your situation.” “Self-care is critical.” “Tell your parents what you need.”

And another: “Never give up on your dreams.”

And another: “Follow your curiosity, and lead with your heart.”

Thank you to NetGalley and Rebel Girls for the opportunity to read an advance readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I love this!

I have a teenage daughter, and I often wonder if have I instilled enough feminism, enough capability, enough hardheadedness that she'll be able to eventually leave the nest, realise her dreams, and achieve everything she wants. I wonder if I've given her the tools to stand up for herself, and not be intimidated by men in a professional or personal setting. I also rage against the fact that our world is still misogynistic enough that these are thoughts I felt that I've had to have.

However, this book is inspiring. The women who have contributed range from the well-known, to the less well-known but awesome. This is the book I would like to make sure every library has, every school should have it, and every little girl should have it.

I think that what the Rebel Girls books do is quite amazing. Empowerment. Believe in who you are. Staying strong for yourself and others. These are all common themes in life and these are put out there specifically for young readers who may find themselves struggling with their position in life. A healthy reminder of what you can do and achieve. I love these books for my 8-year-old daughter. She revels in the fact that girls can do so much and it makes her stronger. I can't argue with that because I want her to be the strongest, smartest, kindest, and most empathic person she can be. These books are a reminder that these traits live in all girls and people.

Whilst this book is intended for tweens and teens, I think all women (and men!) would benefit from the stories within. Hugely inspiring stories from incredible women with great diversity of experience.

Meet 125 women who were once questioning girls wondering what they would become and if they could make a difference. Some are in business, some are in journalism, some in regular sports while others are in the paralympics, then there are scientists and other professions. Each one has words of encouragement for all of us. There are even a few recipes from around the world. I never met a Rebel Girls book that disappointed, but this one is over the top!
Rebel Girls books are the best!
The illustrations and photos continue to be delightful, imaginative, and colorful.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to anyone, but especially to a school or public library!
I requested and received a free temporary e-book on Adobe Digital Editions from Rebel Girls via NetGalley. Thank you!

This book is so inspiring and interesting to read. I loved reading about how different women faced different challenges and faced them as a warrior. Though I couldn't read all the tales at once, but they are fun to read with pauses.

A great book with several varied rebel girls featured. There is definitely more than one story for each girl to relate to in this book. This book is a great way to I form and empower young girls to become more confident and go for their goals.

This is such a great and inspirational book for girls of all ages. This is a wonderful collection of inspiring words and stories from women all over the world. My favourite thing about this book is that it is not just mini-biographies of these amazing women lives but their lives and experiences in their own words. The challenges they faced and how they overcame them and there is something for everyone to learn here. I think it would be great for all young girls to have on their bookshelves. I'm looking forward to reading the full version when it is released!

Another great addition to the Rebel Girls library. I’m always thrilled to get to download these and share them with my nibling.

And this one might be my favorite! Instead of the regular collections of miniature biographies of amazing women, this collection is more personal, more intimate. The biographies are great, but here we get to actually read these Rebel Girls’ words on how they dealt with the challenges in their lives. The encouragements and advice feels so much more direct.

There are letters about fear and failure, but also hope and thriving. From artists and activists and entrepreneurs. There’s photographs and poems and recipes, and so much creative joy. I can’t wait to add this to my collection.

Thanks to Rebel Girls and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this ARC.

Thank you @netgalley for sending me an ARC of Dear Rebel in exchange of an honest review!
A lovely book of stories about being engaged, achieving and overcoming, regardless of your race or social background. I did like the diverse, inspiring stories and the dynamic promoted. A book one may visit more than once, not necessarily for girls only…

We are huge Rebel Girls fans in this house and this is such a brilliant addition to the collection. Inspiring, thought provoking, a great conversation starter and one we will return to again and again. Looking forward to buying a copy of this when published to add to the collection and will be buying as gifts. It is the perfect gift for the younger people in your life as it's one that will be returned to again and again and a joy to pick up and dip into.
Hugely recommend.

Once again quite inspiring though I found it repetitive to read in one go. I'd recommend coming back every day for another short chapter, maybe read it together with your daughter and then talk about it. Loved the layout as always with Rebel girls books.

Whyyyy oh whyyyyy every Rebel Girl book does it to me?
If most other books are primarily suited for a somewhat younger audience, this one looks like a book that might be enjoyed by anyone of any age. I can totally see how any, literally any girl, woman, womxn – of whatever age, of whatever background – will find this book an inspiring read.
When I was done reading it, my first thought was that this is the absolute new hot coffee table book idea. Keep it in your home accessible for anyone at any time, look through it, and let anyone who visits you look through it.
I still think that’s a good idea, although the book is so much more than that.
The stories, the letters, the messages – everything this book contains – it is another example of a perfect way to show girls and young (and not so young) women all around the world that they CAN. That they are good enough. That they matter. That they are worthy. That they are valuable. That they are smart. That they can do anything. Absolutely anything.
The book also radiates love, acceptance, compassion, and – passion. And so so so much love.

This book is completely different than the other Rebel Girls books I've read and reviewed because this one is the women themselves speaking whether it's through a letter, poem or essay style piece talking about themselves and how they are taking on the world. Some of the women give advice, some talk about their concerns, and others talk to their past selves or their children and talk about what they hope for their future.

This book all together has 125 different women talking about their experiences and I feel like anyone who reads this book will be able to connect with at one of these women and what they have experienced. I will recommend this book to my peers at work and encourage them to read it as well.

Dear Rebel by Rebel Girls is one of the best collections by Rebel Girls, in my opinion. It is an entire collective of information, activities, and amazing stories of spectacular Rebel Women who can and should inspire our young children. From chefs and athletes to business women and inventors these amazing women's stories and the corresponding activities, for example recipes are fun for the whole family. It's truly a great read that is also a fun activity book. I do not have children of my own but all of my adopted nieces and nephews will be given this book going forward!
