This book ate—and honestly? I think it slayed harder than Queen of Roses! We pick up right where Book 1 left off, and boom—Morgan wakes up in some mystery location, magically tethered to Draven, aka the walking red flag she cannot stand. And let me tell you, the tension? Delicious.
Every. Single. Thing. About. This. Book. Was. Perfection. The world-building? Immaculate. The pacing? Snappy. The plot? Juicy. The romance? Whew. The spice? Chefs are weeping. The action? Had me on the edge of my seat, thank you very much.
I’m obsessed. Fully, unapologetically obsessed. This series has me in a chokehold, and I’m sprinting into Book 3 like my life depends on it. That cliffhanger? Rude. And Briar? She’s not just writing books, she’s crafting magic. I am so here for every jaw-dropping, heart-clutching, smirk-inducing word

Court of Claws is the second book in Briar Boleyn's Blood of a Fae series. Book 1, Queen of Roses, leaves you on a slight cliffhanger.
This book starts in an entirely new court, the court of the Siabra. The only characters we know/recognize are Morgan and Draven. The world building in this was great, the descriptions of all the new characters/creatures we meet were wonderful. I felt like I was able to get a really good visual of them in my mind. I really enjoyed the portion of this book dedicated to the trials. It was
Morgan on the other hand... kind of annoying in this book. The way she acted towards Draven through most of this book drove me crazy.
As for Draven, no notes. I love him and his morally gray who-did-this-to-you self.
What to expect:
- Morally gray MMC
- Touch her and die
- Deadly Trials
- Enemies to Lovers
- Slow burn
- Forced Proximity
- One bed
Thank you to Briar Boleyn, Starwater Press and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Again, I can’t believe I missed giving feedback on this book. I read it a few months ago and loved the series so much! It still lives rent free in my head!

I am coming back to repent for my errors. I didn’t download this book through NetGalley when I had the chance, and after reading it on my own at a later time I have realized my mistake 🙏🏻
I SHOULD HAVE READ THIS SERIES SOONER.
The characters were fully developed, the plot immediately sucked me in, the writing was engaging, and the overall vibe was perfection. The Exmoors were such a fun touch and made this book a standout of all the fantasy romance books I’ve read. I cannot recommend this book enough to anyone who is looking for an action-packed romantasy read.
Pick up this book if you like:
⚔️ deadly trials
⚔️ forced proximity
⚔️ court intrigue
⚔️ only one bed
⚔️ found family
Court of Claws is an easy book to recommend and I can’t wait to jump into the next in the series.
**Thank you to Starwater Press for the e-ARC**

In 2019 my health started going down hill and I didn't take into consideration what that would mean for my book reviewing. Sadly, I've been trying to play catch up for years and it's been affecting my ability to keep up with present day tasks. So I greatly apologize for this but I am going to clear out all these older review books and focus on present day. I will come back and update this review if I end up reading the book, which is very possible as a lot of these books are still ones I would like to read, I just don't think the pressure looming over me is helpful. Thank you for giving me a chance to early read these books and I am so sorry I wasn't able to provide what was needed.

A dark romantasy set in the Aurthurian age, Morgan Pendragon finds herself in a new country, a new contient surrounded by fae and apparently now the possessor of the title "Princes Paramour." With enemies every where, the only person she can begrudgingly trust is the one who dragged her there. They must work together to help Draven claim the throne so that she can get back to Camelot to stop her brother Arthurs reign of terror. But not all is as it seems and truths come to light and betrayals around every corner. Can the only person Morgan can truly trust be herself.
Deliciously dark and excitingly fast paced, this sequel kept me on the edge of my seat. I didnt want to put it down! On to the next!

A very interesting read. Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read this book. It wasn't really for me, but I am sure that it will be loved by the right audience.

I am addicted to this series - I need to read the next one! I find this series very realistic, as in it's not a happy ever after (so far) and things don't always go to plan. Although I do hope the series ends in a happy way or I will be angry! If you want to read an adventure that keeps you guessing with romance along the way then this is for you!

There's a lot to unpack here. We definitely take a bit of a darker turn.
The author is certainly not afraid to kill off characters, and given this book contains a set of deadly trials and cannibal children, we lose many. I really liked the aspect of us being in the POV that was watching the trials, a nice departure from always being in them.
I'm a sucker for the found family trope, and I think the author did a great job of it in this book. Especially with lyrastra, I loved her character. And beks, of course. I liked the magic system. It's interesting to have a fire wielder that can be harmed by her own flames.
The romance moved a lot faster than I was expecting it to, but that's to be expected when there's only one bed plus fake dating. We have set the characters up for some development going forward as draven is a terrible communicator, and Morgan has many walls up. I'm looking forward to seeing them grow together and strengthen their bond.
The ending almost made me happy cry (IYKYK), and I'm excited to get back to the camelot plot line.
I received an advance review copy of this book, and this review represents my honest opinion. Thank you to netgalley, the author, and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

⭐⭐⭐⭐
As the second installment in the Blood of a Fae series, this book beautifully expands on the world and characters introduced in the first. Morgan’s journey continues as she navigates the treacherous court of the Siabra, and her growth is both compelling and relatable. The “enemies to lovers” trope plays a significant role, especially in her tumultuous relationship with Draven, filled with passion and conflict.
Boleyn’s writing shines as she delves into themes of loyalty, betrayal, and self-discovery. The richly crafted plot is layered with intrigue, keeping the stakes high and the tension palpable. Each character, including Draven’s sister and the court’s inhabitants, adds depth and complexity, making this a thrilling read. The pacing is well-balanced, ensuring that the twists and turns are both surprising and satisfying. Overall, Court of Claws is an exciting continuation that sets the stage for even more dramatic developments in the series.

This book took me forever to get through. The fmc is not my favorite and I feel like she was way too hot and cold. I’m going to continue the series but it isn’t really a high priority with how let down I am with this book.

Let's paint a picture... this book, me and sitting and reading it all in one go... Captivating and awesome

This does everything a second book should, set up for an epic war. There were a couple of things that I didn't like as a reader, such as the miscommunication trope and I wanted the slow burn to turn into a raging fire a bit quicker. I'm getting some ACOTAR vibed from this one but unfortunately, I found the characters started to grate on me quite a bit, especially Morgan our FMC.

Kind of frustrated with this book. Morgan was so hot and cold and very immature. She wants answers but keeps bailing? The plot was very far fetched and well timed to the point of being disinteresting. I’m invested due to book 1 but I didn’t love this book as much.

”if only it didn’t have to be this way. you’re all i think about. you’re all i see. i’m so tied to you i barely know who i am anymore.”
The central focus of this story revolves around the three trials for the throne. Currently vacant due to issues stemming from Draven's family history, volunteers must compete in these challenges to ascend to power. However, only one can ultimately become the emperor or empress.
Admittedly, the beginning is a bit slow, and initially, Draven's demeanor may remind readers of Tamlin from another story. Yet, as events unfold, the true nature of the situation becomes clear, which adds significant depth to the narrative. Exploring more of Draven's backstory was particularly enjoyable, especially since the first book provided limited insight into his character.

I enjoyed the first book, Queen of Roses and Court of Claws started off decent. I think the plot is interesting, I just lost interest. I tried to pick it up multiple times over the past few months and just couldn't do it. That said, this will remain a light DNF for me. Maybe I just need to be in the mood for it.
You can't win 'em all. I really tried with this one.

Loved this series. Not gonna lie, the character names were a bit corny. However, I understand the purpose. Still loved the story and have finished all.

This is the second book in the "Blood of a Fae" series, a dark fantasy romance that continues the story of Morgan Pendragon. Imagine waking up in the court of someone you hate the most. The story is filled with plot twists as Morgan navigates a dangerous new world and a complicated relationships. The book combines elements of Arthurian legend with dark fantasy, making it a gripping read for fans of the genre.

Just finished devouring this book and I'm still in bed, crying the living sh*t out of me 😭
I don't know if I have the power to read the third book of this series without seeing my favorite little boy. I am so heartbroken right now 😭💔
I seriously have a hard time writing this review because I'm left speechless. The whole story was just phenomenal. It has more action and there are a lot of things happening. It was just perfect!

I read book one and I absolutely loved it and book too was even better this is an amazing series and just keeps getting better
