I couldn't put it down. I stayed up wayyyy past when I should’ve gone to bed just to see what happened next.

Wow! The first in this series was five stars but I think this was possibly even better. Non stop action with surprising twists and the lead in to the next book, which I am impatient to read.

I struggled with this book which surprised me. I was hopeful going into this one after Queen of Roses but there was something dark about this second installment. Morgan feels trapped and hopeless for most of this book until she finds herself falling for Draven. Once she falls for him, she finds out she is unwillingly and unknowingly tied to him for life.

I did enjoy the deadly trials element as I always do in fantasy novels. Especially when Morgan is forced to step in for Draven to save him. I also love Nightclaw and hope we get more of him in the future. I also hope the miscommunication and secrets between Morgan and Draven get resolved.

This was exactly what I needed!!!

Coming off of book 1 this was definitely what I wanted from next in the story.

It offered so much through the chapters and I found myself unable to put it down.

I still really enjoy the retelling of Camelot characters as it's a unique take and a story that isn't really used a whole lot.

But man, this one may have almost pulled me in better then book 1 did.

I cannot wait to get my hands on book 3

Morgan and Draven survive the fiasco of Morgan and Draven reach Draven’s home court after her near-death experience. Morgan wakes up to her new position as Draven’s paramour as he prepares to compete in a series of bloody trials for the throne. Add to this political turmoil, Arthur’s unhinged war with kingdoms that were once allies and Draven and Morgan, and you get a politically unstable landscape with Draven and Morgan, who are both willing to do anything to save their peoples.

I had honestly expected more from this book because the first one had completely sucked me in. Morgan became really annoying to read about with her exaggerated threats and foot stomping childlike behaviour. Draven, who had been the big bad wolf in the first book, became a soft leader with compassion for his people, which was a pleasing development to read about. However, his hot and cold behaviour towards Morgan – one minute he is absolutely enamoured, the other minute he rues that he is not good enough for Morgan – was giving me whiplash.
My favourite character to read about was probably Lyratsra, she was portrayed as the jealous, scorned lover but she had so much more depth as a woman. Her ambitions, her vulnerabilities and her strength, both physical and mental, was really endearing. I genuinely hope we get to see more of her in the future.

OMG, this book is everything!! It's a dark fantasy romance with enemies to lovers, magic, mythical creatures, and tons of action. The characters are unique, and the plot keeps you hooked. It is recommended for fans of ACOTAR and Hunger Games. Just be aware it's a bit dark, so check the trigger warnings before reading. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

I received a copy of the Court of Claws by Briar Boleyn from NetGalley. This book is the second book of the Blood of the Fae series. I loved reading the first book, so I couldn’t wait to start reading Court of Claws. This Arthurian fantasy and dark romance retelling with Fae continues the story of Morgan and Kairos Draven from where it was left off in the Queen of Roses.
In the first book, Draven makes a deal to save Morgan’s life and brings her back to his Kingdom. Morgan is unsure about how to deal with the reality of who Draven is, making her question his motives. Draven is a Siabra Fae and the Prince of the Court of Umbral Flames or Court of Claws. They do reach an agreement, to be in a fake relationship until Draven can win back his crown. The Court of Claws is a difficult place to feel comfortable in, Morgan struggles with it. She is drawn more and more to Draven, which she constantly tries to resist.
There was a lot about Draven that we didn’t know in the first book, and slowly, you get a perspective into his character. He is someone who has been driven by guilt and pain, which kept him away from his Court. Morgan starts to see a different side to him, and she likes it. Their chemistry in this book is notched up with a lot more romance. Morgan begins to learn about the fae world with Draven and comes into her own power. She is worried about Camelot too. This book has doubled everything up from the first book. The enemies to lovers romance, the action, and this world of Fae.
Court of Claws by Briar Boleyn continues the story of Morgan and Draven in the best way possible. I can’t wait to see how Morgan and Draven’s story moves forward in the next book.

I have read Queen of Roses and was absolutely loving this theme of story. I couldn't wait to read the next book, so I was very happy to be able to read the ARC. And just like the first book, this book did not disappoint.

The book continues where the first one stopped. Morgan and Draven are in his court and Morgan has to learn to live like his paramour. She's constantly fighting herself due to her feelings. This makes a very interesting point of view. I really liked that the story was based on the POV of Morgan ánd Draven. I liked the chemistry between them and loved how the story unfolded further in the book. There's a lot of secrets between the two and I really enjoyed how they unfolded and how it brought them together and then again, drove them apart. Somewhat like a cat and mouse play.

Anyway, I gave the book 5 stars and was lucky to have received the third book as an ARC too, so I immediately started reading that one. Because obviously I want to know what happens next!

So, I read the last book and was really intrigued by the storyline that the author is building. Which has not changed one bit. It is actually the thing that keeps me coming back to the story. The world building is amazing and so are many of the characters. The big downside is the main character Morgan, she is certainly strong-willed and slowly coming into her own. Her distrust of people makes sense. But the stubbornness is ridiculous and when paired with what seems like no real ability to listen to anything anyone has to say, it makes for a lot of miscommunication, which is sadly not my favorite trope. I quite literally feel bad for every character who tries to help her in any way in this book because they just don't deserve that.

I know I will end up going for the next book however because again, I am hooked by the greater overall plot of this story and it redeemed the downsides enough for me to not DNF months ago.

”if only it didn’t have to be this way. you’re all i think about. you’re all i see. i’m so tied to you i barely know who i am anymore.”

this was such a spectacular read, I am so hooked on this series and am excited for the third to get some much needed answers and more of these characters!! I was entirely invested and didn't see the twists coming, it was such an addictive read! Morgan is such an interesting character, I can't wait to see more of the romance grow in the next books!

I loved this book! The plot flowed really smoothly, I didn’t feel like there was a dip at all. The characters are really fun and I was able to connect with them well.

Another incredible book in this series! A court of claws has blown me away with the depth and developments. The forced proximity and the flip between victim & victor in the relationship between them. Desperate for more! The trials blew me away & I’m really trying not to spoil it but smut, story, magic & darkness

This second installment of Briar Boleyn’s Blood of a Fae series did not disappoint. Draven and Morgan. But this is about the point when I feel a series can start to slump. It did stretch a bit between the main characters being physically so far from each other leaving no interaction but the device to bring them together was great!

I feel both the FMC and MMC grew a lot in their personal development compared to their earlier selves.

The ending made me so sad but it was the right thing to do. It ends on a perfect set up for the final installment of the series.

Thank you NetGalley, Starwater Press, and Briar Boleyn for granting me access to this book in exchange for an honest review.

Once again, I really enjoyed Boleyn's writing, but something was missing for me.

This book is the second part of a series! This review contains spoilers for the first part!

Morgan Pendragon has a war to fight. Her middle brother is ruining her kingdom and she has to be there for her younger brother - but she can't. She's trapped in the Siabra kingdom, and the crown prince is no other than Kairos Draven. He claims he has a plan though - she has to play his mistress for the time being while he wins the crown in a very dangerous competition, and as soon as he has it, they will march on Camelot to save her people - and her friends. Caught in a court of deception and betrayal, Morgan has to play along if she ever wants to get out.
This was a great continuation of the story started in the first volume. I still really enjoyed the characters and the plot. There was a lot of gore and quite a lot more spice than in the first book, but the author also clarifies this at the beginning, so there were no surprises here. The writing in this one felt a lot more repetetive than in the first one - that might be because this is an advanced copy where certain sentences hadn't been edited out yet. Nonetheless, there were a few clilchés in this one that I didn't think were necessary for the story - I really thought we as readers and writers were collectively over breaths the protagonists didn't know they were holding. I'm extremely excitied for the third book, which will probably be my next read.
