Super cute. Took me a while to read because I couldn't get into it. Once I did, it was great. I'll definitely read more by Ella Cook.

I got really into this story. I couldn't put it down.

Everything in me wanted Dr Liv to overcome the trauma she'd been through and find happiness in this wonderful country village.

It was such a sweet story and it was an enjoyable summer read.

Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for the ARC to review. ALl opinions are my own.

This book tells the story of liv who is a doctor. Who has taken a job at a small go practice in a little village called Broclington. She hopes to heal from an attackthat happened to her while she was working a shift in a+e. So she moves and changes her life learning love and trust again along the way.

This novel was okay. The characters I couldn't connect with in this genre. I think I need something with more meaning as this felt very materialistic.

Liv is leaving behind London and emergency medicine to help out at her old mentor's village clinic. Her broken heart and trauma need a fresh start. She starts her new life with a bad impression of the doctor she'll be working with - he's grumpy and doesn't listen, but she's determined to support her old mentor and stay.

Content warning - a lot of medical content, including descriptions of emergencies and injuries.

I enjoyed the book - it was well written although the simmering romance was a little annoying and intrusive at times.
The book alternates between Liv and Callum telling the story. Liv has a well written, extensive backstory, Callum's backstory seems to be 'ex partner (wife?) left him and their daughter for no reason' - I don't know if that's explained in Book 1 (although it seems unlikely from the blurb).

Despite the comment on Callum's backstory - this book can be read as a standalone (I didn't realise it was a book 2 until I started reading). It does include spoilers for book 1 though.

Dr Liv Emery has taken a job as a locum gp at a small practise in the village of Broclington where she hopes she will be able to recover from the vicious attack she was subjected to in a&e where she suffered serious injuries. To add insult to injury she was also dumped by her long term boyfriend as he didn’t think she was perfect any more as she probably couldn’t have children due to her injuries
Will she learn to trust again or will she move on ?

This was quite an unusual premise and was a pleasant read, with two doctors working together before things become romantic. The twists and turns were interesting although there were maybe too many coincidences which impacted the realism of the overall story. The unsettling element of the story was told sensitively and definitely helped me invest in Liv's character.

A charming read. I really enjoyed that the main characters were both Doctors, it made for a nice change of pace from the normal bakery owner/local handy man storyline these books tend to follow.

The wee medical mishaps and emergencies made for interesting reading. I loved all the characters, and their backstories and it was great to see a single dad feature. The village was delightful and there were some genuine laugh out loud moments for me.

A lovely tale of love, healing, friendship and the power of a good cake from the bakery. It will leave you feeling warm and happy.

First thought: An adorable story about new beginnings, taking risks and finding a place you can truly call home. This book makes you believe in happy ever afters.

Dr Liv is escaping London after a horrible incident that left scars both physically and emotionally. She took a temporary DR position in a small town hoping the change of scenery will help her heal as well as give her time to figure out her next move. Little did she know that colliding with a six year old fairy on a bike would set her on a new path.

Dr Callum is a single dad overwhelmed running his practice and trying to raise his spirited daughter. His dad just hired a new interim DR to help out for a few months. But things get off to a rough start when his daughter crashes into a beautiful women and his heart starts feeling things he hasn’t felt on years.

Neither DR is prepared for a relationship as both have pasts with open wounds, so navigating working together will be a challenge. Throw in the funding being pulled by the government and the practice being put in jeopardy and things get shaky. These two will have to work together, take risks and put feeling aside to help the small town.

The second book in this series - I don't think it matters if you have read the first or not. Liv meets Callum when she is the new locum in his surgery. They both have issues from their past, will they open up and give each other a chance?

Liv leaves the city to work temporarily in a small town surgery. Working with and falling for handsome Callum and his young daughter Sarah were not part of the equation. Enjoyed this one overall, and liked the characters and story of the growing romance. Did tire of the administration and threat to close the surgery, and ended up skimming a bit through that (may just be me). Would recommend, and fun summer read.

Absolutely loved this book, it was such an easy and fast paced book for me. I honestly couldn’t put it down! I would definitely recommend this for a cute but quite read!

This book was OK however it lagged throughout and I struggled to finish it. The story had potential. The six year old daughter was very annoying and TBH I didn't care too much about Callum - jumped to conclusions too many times. I am hoping this author's next book will be more engaging.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

After Doctor Liv Emery is attacked by a patient and sustains permanent injuries, she relocates to the small village of Broclington for a fresh start.

She accepts a temporary locum position, and has a disastrous first meeting with her boss, Callum, who jumps too quickly to conclusions.

Callum’s small daughter tries her and at matchmaking, but both Callum and Liv are wary of starting something new.

The story was cute enough, but not engaging. Halfway through the book, I found myself not caring about what happened to them. The romance wasn't really there and I didn't feel any chemistry between them.

Despite never having heard of this author before, I had hoped for more from this book.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.

Liv is a doctor in a busy A&E hospital until something terrible happens. She decides to take up her former professors of a job as a locum at his surgery in the Cotswolds to try and get her life back together

I liked this book, it was an easy read. Liv had so much going on because of her past experiences and Broclington and Callum and Sarah were just what she needed for healing. The community easily accepted her and made her feel loved. Her relationship with Callum was a bit rocky, but eventually they realized the need for each other and how they are better together. Sarah was an adorable little munchkin and the three of them formed a great family. I liked how the community came together for important matters. With its theme, the story reminded me a bit of Hart of Dixie, but, you know, make it British.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me a copy of the book.
