This is the second in the series and these characters are getting even more fun. A completely charming cozy that manages to still offer up lots of twists and turns. A highly engaging read!

It was great to catch up with the Charity Shop ladies while they take on another cosy mystery! Easy to read and well plotted, a good continuation if the series.

When I requested this book I was unaware that it was apart of a series, one that requires you to read the previous books for this one to make sense. I am unable to read all the previous books along with this one before the publish date. Therefore, I will rate this a fair 3/5 stars and will adjust the rating and review when I am able to read all the books in the series along with this one.

A lovely book just to sit and relax at the end of a busy day. I light mystery no complicated plots or characters. Just my cup of tea, I will be reading more by this author

For fans of Richard Osman! This is a fun series that I continue to enjoy each one that comes out. Will recommend for my book club and will purchase for the library.

Cozy mysteries aren't usually my choice of genre, but The Beach Hut Murders may have converted me. Fiona, Sue, and Daisy make such lovable ameatur sleuths investigating the crimes of Southbourne. Boland's work was a fun, enjoyable read that kept me on my toes.

A light and easy cozy mystery with low stakes. The story is a bit over the top and unbreakable ( not in a good way ) the characters didn't really grab me and it was difficult to get invested in the story. I prefer my mysteries to be a bit darker.

The ladies from the Dogs Need Good Homes charity shop are at it again. Fiona, Partial Sue, and Daisy are hired to investigate an arson/murder case in a beach hut community. The case seems unsolvable until it isn't. Super fun to read. I love reading books set in other places--it allows me to do research on things like beach huts and English ice creams! While it's not necessary to read these in order, I would. Definitely recommended.

Second book with this trio of detectives. Fun book ideal for the cosy genre. Enjoyable read and would be a great gift too.

The Beach Hut Murders is Peter Boland’s second book in the Charity Shop Detective Agency mystery series. Once again, Fiona, Sue, and Daisy find themselves involved in the investigation of a mysterious and fatal fire that destroyed of one of the coveted beach huts in Southbourne. The three women are not only friends but also volunteer at the Dogs Need Nice Homes charity shop.

Once again Mr Boland has created a humorous mystery that is a bit campy and maybe even a bit goofy. It’s a cozy mystery that is well-written, with good dialogue and descriptions, a variety of imaginative characters, and a good plot. The three amateur detectives are not only friends but they also volunteer at the Dogs Need Nice Homes charity shop. – Fiona is the organizer and quite level headed, Sue is the backbone of the trio and always ready to help her friends, and Daisy is their secret weapon. She is their technical support and researcher. As a result, the three detectives are a force to be reckoned with.

In order to really enjoy The Beach Hut Murders, you have to be willing to put aside some logical thoughts, enjoy a bit of silliness, and be willing to go along for the ride as Fiona, Sue, and Daisy solve the case. It’s a great book to relax with.

The Beach Hut Murders is the second Charity Shop Detective Agency mystery by Peter Boland. Released 3rd Aug 2023 by Joffe Books, it's 394 pages and is available in paperback and ebook formats. It's worth noting that the ebook format has a handy interactive table of contents as well as interactive links and references throughout. I've really become enamored of ebooks with interactive formats lately. For Kindle Unlimited subscribers, this book is currently included in the KU subscription library to borrow and read for free. The first book in the series, The Charity Shop Detective Agency, is also currently available on KU.

This is an entirely whimsical, campy, often slapstick lark featuring three disparate volunteers in the same charity shop (Dogs Need Nice Homes) who find themselves approached to solve an arson murder at a local beach hut cabin. There are darker forces at work, and soon it seems like the serial arsonist might never be caught, since they're not captured on any security camera anywhere in the area.

So much of the book is over the top silly that readers should bring a *hefty* suspension of disbelief to the read and expect some moderate amounts of eye-rolling at the seemingly random insertion of weird details from axe throwing tech experts to middle aged females falling over electric-scooters and accidentally exposing their naughty bits in most undignified fashion (several times in the course of the book).

The plot, resolution, and denouement are self contained in this volume and it works well enough as a standalone. It bears repeating that readers should bring a stout, nay invincible, suspension of disbelief, and expect a solution and epilogue that beggar belief.

Four stars. Potentially just slightly on the wrong side of wacky, but undeniably fun. Readers should be in the mood for an extremely silly mystery to enjoy this one.

Second in the series and just as good as the first. Three great older ladies digging into mysteries while they manage a charity bookshop for dogs. Fun characters.

This is the second book in The Charity Shop Detective Agency series. It is a good cozy, which has a good plot and there are lots of twists and false accusations that kept it interesting. I like the twist at the end of who the killer ends up being! .

This novel was okay. The characters I couldn't connect with in this genre. I think I need something with more meaning as this felt very materialistic.

Another great cosy read and one I thoroughly enjoyed. I have previously only read and the first book in this series by this author and will certainly be looking for more to read in the future.

Set in a sleepy seaside village this is a charming cosy mystery, with a murder needing investigation by the volunteers at the local charity shop of course! The characters of course are quaint and the setting is ideal for this story and series. A book that is easy to read, not too long and is certainly cosy. It is entertaining and enjoyable, has the right twists and turns to keep me reading.

I love the ladies from the shop and love their fun and quirky ways of getting to the bottom of a murder mystery that needs solving. They make it easy to read and as always they bring a bit of fun and humour to the whole situation. Can't wait to see what comes next.

Another cozy mystery from Peter Borland where you spend the entire book guessing who did it with a smile on your face. Yet again the characters were believable and relatable. The writing flows easily and it is a joy to read!

The author has found his groove in book 2 of The Charity Shop Detective Agency series. The writing is smooth, the storyline flows perfectly and the gals are up against yet another mystifying conundrum. You can’t help but ask for many more adventures to follow especially with that ending!

I made a mistake with this ARC by thinking it was the first in a series – which it wasn’t, so ended up having to go in half blind which didn’t turn out to be as bad as I thought. I was able to pick it up quite easily, albeit with some missing information on characters from the first book. The mystery to this book was solid, and I loved the humour. There are many twists, and it often felt like there was a lot going on. I really enjoyed this book and would read others from the author.
