I am totally stunned after finishing this outstanding debut book by author S.T. Ashman. I have only given one five star review this year so far and have until the end of this review to decide what I'm going to rate it.

This one stars Leah. She is a genius pianist. Literally this generation's Beethoven who has played before presidents and her concerts are sold out two years in advance. She is also very famous and wealthy. And a serial killer.....

If there is one trope I love it's the female assassin / serial killer / all around badass and Leah is it. She learns at a young age when she stabs a boy trying to rape her that she has no feelings or empathy. Comparisons with Dexter are justified but this one outshines that series. In the beginning she goes on a date with a guy and we learn that guy is also a serial killer who Leah disposes of in the most extreme manner possible. It's here we learn that while being a serial killer she takes her anger out on those who deserve it. Very much like Dexter. And of course a FBI agent is soon hot on her trail.

There is never a dull moment in this book. It's plotted perfectly. The chapters are short and concise. It ends in 300 pages and we are never bored and we soon find out that not only is Leah one step ahead of this FBI agent but to me reading as well. The reveals and twists kicked my ass. I loved it!

Are there any negatives? Yes. I knew there were several ways this thing was going to end and it ended up exactly where I wished it didn't. But in the end that is not a bad thing. It is setting up for one absolute monster of a book #2. And the actual ending..... LOL. It reads like one of the superhero movies where the credits roll and at the end of the credits we have a 30 second clip to jumpstart book#2. It works.

At the end of the day we read books to be entertained, shocked, and be taken away to somewhere else. This book did it for me. And that's why it's my second five star book of the year.

I really appreciate Ashman books for giving me the opportunity to read this book for free for a honest review and it has a publication date of September 17, 2023.

Wow! This book is really something. The entering scene featuring a drill and the teeth of a serial killer certainly had shock value. It made me grit my own teeth in horror. I have honestly never pictured that before and set the book up to be pretty gruesome. The book read like a Criminal Mind episode. However, the main difference was the POV from an outsider, a pianist who is not an FBI agent. I think it added a lot of complexity to the book by having these two wildly different POVs. The differing views on the subject at hand really made the reader question what their views are.The best part of the book for me was the twist I wasn’t expecting at the end. It made the book a 5 star read in my opinion.
Based on the ending, I’m curious to see if there will be a second book or if it will just leave on this cliff hanger. I would love to read more about Agent Liam and Leah.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves watching Law and Order SVU, Criminal Minds, and other shows like these two. Please be sure to check trigger warnings before reading this book.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book for free and give my honest feedback and review.

Fast paced and intense story of vigilante justice versus the law enforcement system, and ultimately good versus evil, and how the lines can blur to get justice in a flawed system. Who is right or wrong?

Descriptive killings, fresh and nice female characters. The whole time I read the book I was in the end of my seat and definitely this book is not for people who impress easily. Who is this author and why I never read her before? Seriously? I liked the pace in the book, there is only downfall for me in the book and that’s the only reason I don’t give it the full stars score. The chapters like make me feel like what? What next? Answer please. But is a nice thriller full of suspense and twists I wasn’t expecting. Brilliant first encounter with the autor. Now the real question is ¿Is there more books? When I can red them? Thank to NetGalley for the access to this arc.

Please read all trigger warnings before reading this book, it is not for the faint of heart!

This story was a wild ride from start to finish, I loved the multiple POV's and the twist at the end was not something I had predicted!! S.T. Ashman's style of writing is descriptive without being muddy and keeps you on your toes the entire way through the book.

This is a quick, exhilarating, interesting read for anyone who enjoys crime/serial killer plots!

Thanks to Netgalley and Ashman Books for this Arc in exchange for my honest review.

Wow.. This is the first book I read from this author and I think I'll need to find more of his.. I already knew I would love this book from the first chapters !! I could only see the end going 2 ways but that twist at the end !!! Well, 2 twists I didn't see coming at all.. Even if I felt sad for the last part, I think is this an amazing book
. Highly recommend !!!

What a wild wild ride!!

Leah is a genius pianist and she is also a killer, hunting down serial killers, as the title suggests. But when she finds herself linked to one of her targets, she meets a tenacious FBI Agent filled with suspicion of her and one that just won't put his suspicions aside. To make matters more complicated, Leah's most recent pursuit is her most dangerous yet.

This was an exhilarating read and I found I had been holding my breath towards the end! A book about serial killers is always a win for me, so this was already a hit before it began. The author's writing was fabulous and I found it hard to believe it was a debut. Did I have to suspend disbelief? Yes, but that is expected in most serial killer novels. My only minor downfall for the novel were a couple of chapters towards the end that finished on cliffhangers, after which the explanation was not forthcoming in the immediate chapters after. Aside from that it was just brilliant. 4.5*.

Thanks so much to NetGalley and Ashman Books for the gifted review copy.

A story not for the faint hearted, with very descriptive killings.
In the description the words heroes and villains is mentioned and i do wonder if this would have made a better title.
I raced through this book and was truly left on the edge of my seat.
It felt like the reader had to make up there mind how they felt about the main character and whether they felt what they were doing was for the good of the world.
Loved every page.
Many thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.
At last a true thriller of a book.

In multiplication, two negatives equal a positive. In this story a negative act meets another negative act, and the world is a better place as a result. But does the end justify the means. That’s the slippery slope that the reader is forced to face in in order to navigate through this story.
