3.5*/5*

This was a cute, corny (in the best way!) hockey romance. I had never read a hockey romance before and did enjoy this one a lot. While it wasn't the best book I've ever read, it was a lot of fun! The flirting will have you kicking your feet, and there's a lot of flirting. There was also one really good spicy scene. Coco and Logan are absolutely perfect for each other! I was getting worried that miscommunication was going to play a big part in this because I'm not a fan of that particular trope but I was wrong.

Also as someone from Philly, I couldn't help but laugh at their date on the Market-Frankford Line (aka the El). The romanticization of the el was not something I would have ever expected especially after such a spicy scene. To anyone outside the area that would have sounded very cute but to anyone in the city there would be a lot better dates to be taken on. That didn't effect my review but I just thought it was funny :)

I am looking forward to Cam's story!

When I saw this was a hockey player x figure skating romance, I immediately knew I had to read it. Not to mention the hockey player is a single dad?! Sign me up.

The idea and premise of the book was great, and included heaps of tropes I love, but I just found that the execution fell a little flat, and I lost interest during it. Not to mention 3/4 of the book was set in hospital???

There were quite a few typos (of some very important names) in the book and there was times where the writing was quite repetitive, which I did find took away from the flow of reading at times. Hopefully these will be fixed before publication though.

I think ultimately it just came down to this book not being for me.

> All set to be completely fucking wrecked by you, I think. <

The Cutting Edge was a very cute lovely Rom-Com with more Rom than Com in my opinion.
I really enjoyed reading this book and I fell completely in love with the protagonists. I mean, how cute can someone be?
The overall story was also good. It was very narrowed down to one place for most of the book which was a little bit underwhelming for me. I hoped there would be more dynamic. Nonetheless the romance was very cute. It was a little bit too much in such short time that the characters knew each other but other than that it was very enjoyable.
Also Logans daughter was just the cutest.
The writing style was very easy and simple so I can recommend the book to anyone who is just starting to read more in english or doesn't feel completely safe yet.

Overall, I really liked the story and I enjoyed reading the book.

The is the first book in a new series by Lisa Daily. My bar has been set pretty high for hockey romances so this fell a little flat for me, although I can’t tell if just because I’ve read so many other hockey romances I enjoyed more. This is a figure skater/hockey player romance. Overall the book was very cute just nothing special for me.

Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

I received this book from Siesta Key through NetGalley and this review is based on my own opinion.
While the book wasn't one of the best hockey romances I did enjoy reading it. The beginning felt a bit slow and the ending a bit rushed. I did love the characters personalities especially the friendship Coco and Lana build so quickly and Poppy was too die for.

I am looking forward to Cam and Lana's book because the little snippets we got were really cute.

This book would be great if you're into:
- hockey player/figure skater
- single dad
- sports romance

The blurb for this book had me seriously hyped for a somewhat 'typical' hockey romance.

I was so disappointed that it just didn't deliver what I'd hoped for from it.

I was easily distracted and the story didn't keep my interest for any length of time, meaning I walked away and came back several times before actually finishing.

It's a real shame when a book from a new-to-me author disappoints!

I thought this book had great premise, because who doesn’t love a hockey romance, and there were bits I like but it just feel a little flat for me, it felt very slow at times and I found myself getting pulled from the story because of it (almost a DNF)

my copy also came with A LOT of editing errors (typos, dialogue errors etc) which made it difficult to read at times

This was a 4 star read for me!

The characters were really nice and I loved Poppy in this story! I don't always love the way children are written in books but she was written brilliantly. I am becoming a fan of the hockey romances especially with my connection to the Ice Hockey and Figure Skating world, these just have me inhaling each page.

I found the story cute; but I did find the 'on again off again' parts very frustrating which I get is kind of the point but for me once is enough! I would have loved a bit more of Coco and Logan in Coco's world as well for the story. I love a strong woman main character but i found that Coco became very much just happy to be in Logan's world which is not how she started the story but I still loved the story and how easy this was to read.

Coco is a kids’ figure skating coach training to get to the Olympics. When one of her students is left behind after class she goes to return her to her father, who plays hockey in the same facility. She wakes up in the hospital after getting hit in the head by a puck from the father’s slap shot. This leads to the father, Logan, doting on Coco in the hospital and both of them falling for each other.
This was a sweet hockey romance but I felt like it needed a little bit more development. It felt like it went too fast and moved through the conflict too easily. However, I liked how Logan was all in and did everything he could for Coco even when she was angry at him. And of course he had the adorable single father, hockey star thing going for him. Vic was a little dramatic and hypocritical when she found out about a secret that Logan kept, but overall I liked Coco’s character. And it had an adorable HEA that made me smile.

Absolutely adored this book.
Super cute, but also has its annoying moments when you just want to knock the two main characters heads together.

I'm not normally one for a romance when a kid was involved but this was really well written and didn't over power the story.

Any fans of a sport romance should definitely read this book.

I know we're supposed to ignore typos in ARCs, but my god this was actually hard to read there were so many.

2 ish stars ⭐️

From the top of my head (because I forgot to review this since I had mixed feelings about it and then uni picked up 🥴) The Cutting Edge was an entertaining book but it feel short in a few areas.

I will admit that the language and dialogue from Poppy, Logan's daughter, threw me off quite a bit because it didn't feel like a 5 yer old was speaking... but that could also be the fact that I'm rarely surrounded by children. Hence, the "ish" in my rating.

This was a great entry in the world of hockey romances. It was a feel good read that left you wanting more.

The Cutting Edge had some potential, but definitely needed some additional editing, both punctuation, grammatical and story line development. There was a paragraph that repeated itself word for word and had me thinking I went backwards by accident in the ebook.

I didn't feel invested in the characters at all which made I ended up DNF'ing at 52% because I almost cringed every time I saw that I still needed the read it. It's not often that I DNF and I needed to at least give it a good try - but 52% was enough. I even tri to read a few books in between while slowly working away at it, but wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt before writing it off completely.

Good book with a well done story inside the pages. I loved the main characters and how well they played off each other the whole way through the story.

Logan Rivers is the captain of his NHL team, nearing playoffs, and in a slump. He hasn't scored a goal in three games or in practice. Just his luck then when a rogue slap shot hits his secret crush and knocks her unconcious. But that may just be the shot to change his game... and his life.
Irritated by the no show of one of her skating student's parents, Coco attempts to track him down but she wakes up in the hospital with a wicked headache and a hot hockey player hovering over her. She's charmed by his groveling for forgiveness, then attracted to his personality but can she ever forgive the fact that he may have ended her skating career?
I thought this was a cute story with a cinnamon roll "hero", lots of funny banter, and a slow burn attraction. The scenes with Poppy were sweet and hilarious and I loved the closeness between her and Logan. I love when the hockey star isn't afraid to show his feelings and Logan literally gives her his heart in front of thousands of fans and national tv. One of my favorite scenes in the book!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Cute! I enjoyed this a lot. I love a hockey romance and this one delivered. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

This ticked all my boxes as a hockey romance. It had a large helping of popular tropes and was an all around fun read! The third act conflict was a little off putting however overall a cute read with two professional athletes at its core.

The cover was what initially drew me in to this book. That and the fact I love hockey romances.

It was a fun read, but I felt it could've been shorter, a lot of the book was spent in the hospital, and I didn't feel like we got to see them both in action.

I liked the interactions between Poppy and Logan but felt like some of these were just filler bits.
I enjoyed the idea of this book but there were just some things I didn't enjoy and couldn't get past.

If you like these tropes, this could be the book for you:
- Hockey x Figure Skater
- sports romance
- Single Dad
- rom com

I will definitely try another one of Lisa Daily's books, thank you for the opportunity.

This was cute. It made me smile a lot.
I don't think she should've got as mad at him as she did. He did almost kill her.
