Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this eARC in return of an honest review.
With all the sports romances out these days, this one doesn’t live up.
The writing is decent but it feels like it falls short and is lacking. I wanted to love it but it isn’t something I will pick up again.

3.5⭐️
"The Cutting Edge" is an adorable and fun Hockey Romance.
In the book we meet Logan -a handsome and respectful hockey player single dad- and Coco -the ice skater MFC who I ended up not liking very much-, but even so the relationship kinda worked out at the end (which is expected in this expected in this kinda insta-love stories).
In the other hand, is important to highlight the fact that if you are looking for an inmersive experience in the hockey part then this might not be for you, since most of the time the characters are in the hospital or just going for anything that doesn´t relate to the practices or in games.
All in all, a fun fast-paced reading with a lot of banter between the two MC´s and with very little spice, being a good read for someone who is looking for a light book that would left you a smile.
Thank you to NetGalley and Lisa Daily for allowing me the opportunity to read this Arc in return for an honest review!

6.5/10. I love me an ice hockey rom-com, and while this one was good, it wasn't quite on par with some of the others I have read. I will likely still read the others in the series though!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was cute and cosy and warm. I did find the writing style to be a little tedious at times but I thought this was more down to my personal preference rather than it being 'bad'. I loved Logan as a character and found him to be rather relatable which is unusual for a lot of hockey romance book s that I have read recently.

I think this book will likely appeal to folks who absolutely love a hockey romance and want to read as many of them as they can. For readers not so enamored with hockey romance, I think this is skip-able. It was fine, but nothing particularly recommends it as a great romance when there are so many other great romances out there right now.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this arc in exchange for an honest review

I was super excited for this one I am always down for a good sports romance (especially when it's hockey) but this one didn't seem so much like a sports romance more so just two characters who played sports. I was really wishing there would be descriptions of hockey games etc. I did really enjoy the single father aspect and found his kid to be so funny and a good addition to the story. I also enjoyed the banter between our two main characters.

overall this book wasn't exactly what I was expecting but it was a good read and kept me entertained.

This was a hockey player/ice skater single dad romance!
I loved how respectful Logan was the entire book- but then when he needed to show his gruffness it was so cute (imo). I definitely had to try hard to like Coco - I felt like she came off as selfish (even from the start when she gave Poppy her protein bar then was like damn I shouldn’t have offered) and the book overall was too slow for my liking. I read A LOT of hockey books (call me a connoisseur if you will LOL) but some things were just off and weird - Logan’s practice times, the reality of how much time he was away from the game and the team to be with Coco- I also felt like 60% of the book was in the hospital and about Coco- I also felt like her “relationship” with Poppy was very instalove and became so serious out of nowhere.
All in all, I liked the general overview but think that some things could have been fine tuned.
thank you to NetGalley for sending me an ARC copy of this book in exchange for a honest review!

I was super excited to read this by Lisa Daily. I had read other hockey romances right before this one and loved this one so much from the moment I started. Every time I spotted a troupe I feel deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole. A very cute, very sweet read.
There was:
Instant love troupe
(dare I say, he falls first and she falls harder?)
Single Dad
Fade to black scene
Might be part of a series?
HEA
And what's better than a happily ever after? Nothing. I loved it and the way both characters understood each other when it came to the importance of their careers and encouraging the other to go for their dreams? At one point it felt like the scene with Flynn and Rapunzel when he told her "you are my new dream" and she goes, "and you were mine".
Thank you to the author for the story (!!!) and to NetGalley for the opportunity to read it in the first place.

I tried. I really did try my best to read this book. From first glance it seemed like the perfect book for me. Someone says ice hockey romance and I’ll be throwing stars left and right at them. But from the first chapter alone it was obvious it needed some heavy editing. I’ve read fan fiction that’s better written than this and it just put me off reading anymore.
Thanks netgalley for providing the ARC

There were so many cute moments, and I absolutely loved the relationship between the main characters. Even though their first meeting wasn't the best of terms, I feel like Coco and Logan were a match made in heaven.
Overall, a very cute sports romance, and I love all of the characters and I will definitely be on the lookout for Cam and Lana's story next in Cold Feet.

I am such a sucker for sports romance but specifically Hockey. This book and these characters managed to bring something fun and unique to a niche topic that I read about regularly, overall I enjoyed reading this book.

Such an adorable single dad sports romance! I loved everything about this and it was such a fun read! I absolutely can’t wait for the next book!

The Cutting Edge is a fun Hockey Romance. Coco and Logan have good chemistry and I was looking forward to them figuring out their issues. Poppy is a sweet addition to the story as Logan’s daughter.

I was gifted this ARC by NetGalley and Siesta Key for an honest opinion.
Cute, hockey romance. I'm a sucker for sports romance... especially hockey. This is much tamer than most sports romances which was great. Logan and Bella are easy to like and I think it's a bonus that Logan is a single dad!! Logan did have an insta- love for Bella that was a little different but all in all there was great banter and just an overall cute story.

I truly enjoyed every aspect of this read! From that fateful hit taken by the hockey puck, to the falling in love that we experience, this was fun and light-hearted, and kept me laughing and feeling the love the entire time I was reading.
I feel that Lisa Daily did a beautiful job building the story and allowing us to take part in this beautiful story of finding love. Highly, highly recommended!

Such a cute, fluffy, hockey romance! This was easy to read and the characters were very likable from the start. I prefer more on page spice but that’s just my preference. I look forward to more books in the series!

" 'I'm no goalie, but I've got you covered if you decide to pull a Pretty Woman and send your dinner flying across the room.' "
When Coco is late to pick up her friend from the hospital, she goes on a mission to find Poppy's dad, Logan, who was late to pick Poppy up. After a hockey puck incident, she lands in the hospital, and when fate intertwines, Logan, Coco and Poppy's lives change for the better.
There were so many cute moments, and I absolutely loved their relationship. I feel like Coco and Logan were a match made in heaven, even if their first meeting wasn't the best of terms.
Going into this, I expected a heavier emphasis on their sports, Coco's figure skating, and Logan in the National Hockey League. There was some key moments that we saw with Logan, and him playing in the games, but I wanted more with Coco. More moments of her practicing, her performing, the tricks and impressing the boys.
Me being a hockey fan, I immediately knew I wanted to read it, but of course, there's going to be inconsistencies, which I tried to overlook.
Overall, a very cute sports romance, and I love all of the characters and I will definitely be on the lookout for Cam and Lana's story next in Cold Feet.
tropes // sports romance, he falls first, NHL captain, Olympic bound figure skater, single dad
tw // medical content, panic attacks, sexual content, death (off screen, mentioned), violence

I love a good hockey romance, and this was just that. Plus, the fact that HE is the single parent in the book was, honestly, a refreshing twist. I feel like a lot of the 'single parent' characters in contemporary romances are single mothers, so this was nice.
I enjoyed reading this book, and I'm such a sucker for the "he falls first" trope and I had enough fun while reading it to kind of gloss over the fact that I got a touch annoyed by the conflict in the third act. It was enough to make me like "come on, now..." but not enough to make me dock my rating, or even DNF the book.

This was just a super cute romance book. I liked that she already had a relationship with his daughter, it made it easy for him to trust her. My one thing is that the version I read needed more editing, there were a lot of errors that are super easy to fix.

There was somewhat of an insta love thing going on and that’s not my thing. The fact that he’s a single dad to his niece is cute but with the first half of the story covering 3 days of just them interacting in the hospital you don’t get to see that aspect as much as I’d like. The banter is good but sometimes it’s just a bit repetitive. Overall good story, cute and super fast read
