I received an eARC for my honest opinion.
This is book two of the Persephone and Hades modern/erotic retelling. In this book you will see how Persephone handles being transported to the underworld without knowing all about Hades and her prophecy. She feels so lost and alone and that throws her into a spiral and on top of all that she is having strange dreams and having the sinking feeling that Hades needs her help and soon. Hades is stuck in a place that he did not think he would ever have to be, and it drags up feelings and memories he has hidden away for so long. Now he must learn how to handle these news feelings, or he might just lose the one person that he loves the most.
I enjoyed book two but for me book one really hit the spot. I liked that in this book we got more of a background on Hades and to see who and what happened to him that helped shape him to be the man he is today. I loved that we got to see more about Hades in this book and to see his growth as a character in it as well. I did not mind the back and forth between Persephone and Hades but at times I was like oh come on Persephone just be more understanding but by the end of the book I could understand why she acted the way that she did.
Persephone's character had some growth in this book but not the same amount as Hades. I was a little bit upset with how she handled some of the topics with Hades but then everything was explained why she felt the way she did, and I started to forgive her for acting like that. I did love seeing her badass attitude, take nothing from no one, don’t come at my man and our kingdom or else. It was a side that I loved seeing in this book and seeing her come out of her shell and acting like the badass queen she is. I also enjoyed getting to see her softer side with Cerberus and watching how she handles the huge pup and how she treats him like he is the world’s tiniest dog is so funny and cute.
That ending killed me and knowing that I will have to wait for the next book is going to be hard too. That cliffhanger was so horrible and cruel but done so beautifully that I can’t be that upset by it.
I recommend this book to anyone that likes spicy scenes, retellings of mythology that are modern, character growth, and dual POV.
I want to thank NetGalley and Rose & Star Pub for the opportunity to review this book.

This was a good book. It was easy to read and I was engaged throughout most of the book. I liked taking a deeper look into Hades’ past. The plot was interesting and the twists kept me hooked. I also enjoyed taking a look into some of the relationships that the gods have with one another, like Aphrodite and Hephaestus. One of the major things that I didn’t like about this book was the characters. They were all extremely old, but acted immature. I also did not like how long the fight between Hades and Persephone went on for and I was pretty bored during those parts. Overall, I enjoyed reading this book and I would recommend it.

Starting at the cliffhanger from The Maiden and The Unseen, Persephone is explores the Underworld and tries to adapt to her new role -- while unknowingly Hades is trapped and tortured. After his rescue, they struggle to deal with the consequences of activating the fated curse and the mysterious infection in their Underworld. However, a coronation ball must be planned and they must find a way to deal with her cruel mother. Will their love last when facing these challenges?
This book is vastly different from the first book -- It's filled with anguish and miscommunication. Both characters could benefit from some therapy -- especially since their parents are horrible gods/titans. They have huge issues with communication but their love and connection shines through. It was hard for me to wade through all of that (it's not my favorite trope) but it's still a good story and I'm looking forward to the 3rd book in the series.
My favorite parts were the instances of Melinoe and Helios. I would read an entire series of just their interactions.
Cerebus being nicknamed Berry is just the cutest!
Thank you Net Galley and Rose & Star Publishing for the ARC!

🌶️🌶️🌶️
- Dual POV
- Spicy
- Greek Mythology
- Emotional Trauma
- Major Cliffhanger
“Even when we fight, there is no bottom to the depths of my love for you. You could look through this world, and the next and the next, and still never find the end of it.”
So many emotions are wrapped up in book 2 of this Hades & Persephone modern day retelling. There is personal growth, overcoming trauma, learning to navigate a relationship beyond the physical, and heartbreak. Trust me there is still plenty of spice but this book focuses more on the emotional aspects of Hades & Persephone’s relationship. Plus we are introduced to my new favorite side character, Cerberus! Let me just warn you that this ends on a major cliffhanger that left me unable to read for the rest of the day and wishing upon the stars that book 3 comes out ASAP!

"The Mistress and the Renowned" by Jeanette Rose (Love and Fates Series, Book 2):
Hades, King of the Underworld, finds himself ensnared in his own memories, after fulfilling the prophecy with Persephone. He's tethered to a tree, his power slowly being drained away, and all he can do is call out to Persephone as he relives his most haunting recollections. But will she hear him and help him out of it?
Persephone, Goddess of Spring, is thrust into the underworld without understanding the full extent of the prophecy. Her newfound predicament and the loneliness of what feels like abandonment lead her to have strange dreams, which stir a deep sense of urgency within her. She can't shake the feeling that Hades is in peril and needs her presence desperately. The question is, will she be able to locate him in time?
I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars. The dynamic between Hades and Persephone, who often find themselves at odds with each other, adds complexity and depth to their relationship, distinguishing it from typical romance stories.
While the novel has more action than the last book, it is an erotic romance, the pacing can feel swift, with the romantic connection forming rapidly. There's little build-up to the relationship. However, if you're seeking a book primarily for its passionate elements, then this is a strong choice.

I am not sure where to start... Guys I almost DNF this book and that never happens! I love Greek mythology. I love reading retellings and I read few of H+ P., but this just was it for me. There some part i enjoyed and some parts were just dragging and I was forcing myself through it. P character was just bland I did not like her and her interactions with H were so so . I was missing the spark between them.
Parts I really liked were:
* Hades, Poseidon and Zeus fighting their Father
* Brother's relationship and the fact that they liked each other
* Hades not being a d**k. I liked seeing him vulnerable
* Cerberus - I want it as a pet

I really enjoyed these books. I love their relationship ship and it feels like a family including Ceberus. It was written really well and the heartache being shared was realistic. Super funny moments throughout.

I enjoyed the first one but this one didn’t have much plot to it until the end. Then they switched it up on me for the final pages and I can’t say I loved it. Just a meh for me.

This book was amazing! We start in the Underworld with Persephone, confused on where Hades is after the curse separates them. Only to find there is much more evil a foot.
This definitely didn’t disappoint. You’ve got a devoted Hades, a bad@ss Persephone, an arrogant Zeus, a lovable Cerberus, and a Demeter that will leave you seething. Definitely has a healthy level of spice, fights, and a lot of continued relationship building (both the main couple and with a great supporting character line up.

A MASTERPIECE of a hades and persephone retelling. I adore these two authors and will be reading EVERY book they write! I am so grateful for this Galley and all opinions are my own! A+ Reccomend everyone who likes sexy greek mythology retellings read this series!

"The Mistress & The Renowned" by Jeanette Rose and Alexis Rune promises an intriguing and captivating dive into Greek mythology, offering a fresh and imaginative take on the timeless tale of Hades and Persephone.
The description sets the stage for a thrilling and mystical story. Hades, the powerful and enigmatic god of the Underworld, is facing an unexpected and perilous situation, adding a layer of vulnerability to his character. His desperation to escape this predicament becomes the driving force of the narrative.
On the other hand, Persephone, who finds herself unexpectedly crowned as the Queen of the Underworld, faces her own set of challenges. The description hints at her determination and resilience as she navigates her new role and seeks her fated mate.
The story's themes of destiny, fate, and the powerful connection between these two iconic characters promise a rich and immersive reading experience. The blending of mythology with fresh perspectives on these gods and goddesses adds an element of intrigue and novelty.
Overall, "The Mistress & The Renowned" appears to be a promising addition to the realm of mythological romance, offering readers a unique and enchanting interpretation of a classic tale. It's likely to appeal to fans of Greek mythology and those looking for a passionate and otherworldly love story.

In a refreshing twist on a classic retelling, Hades emerges not just as a shadow-wielding deity but an awkwardly endearing boss. Tasked as the bridge between gods and the mortal realm, his life takes a turn when he stumbles upon clandestine Persephone and hires her for his business. Their chemistry? Scorching. Their banter? Hilarious. And Mellie? An absolute gem. While Book 1 is a delightful rollercoaster, Book 2 delves deeper into their emotional turmoils, leaving readers teary-eyed and craving the next installment. Ensure to heed the trigger warnings, especially for the sequel.

I love a good H&P story. I love these two people and I adore all the retellings of them. This one was by far my favorite. At the beginning it kept me on my feet, Persephone was worried for Hades and so was I. The spark between this couple is electric and explosive. You can tell they love each other deeply with the right amount of their spicy time😏🌶️. The underworld got it’s flourishing when Persephone arrived and that was the best thing that could happen.

The Mistress and the Renowned is perfect for fans of Hades and Persephone retellings and lots of spice.
After the curse has taken affect, Persephone must become the queen of the underworld. While she is waiting for Hades to explain he gets captured and is trapped in Tartarus. Persephone must put aside her anger to retrieve Hades so they can finally talk about what happened, however more issues arrive that may be the cause of their undoing.
I gave this book 3 out of 5 stars. I did not like the first one, so I wasn’t really expecting much from this one. A lot of this book is just spicy filler, which is not my thing so it personally didn’t enjoy it. I also did not enjoy the cliffhanger. It wasn’t bad, but I just don’t enjoy having to wait to see what happens. Overall, I personally didn’t like this book and I would not recommend it to others.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

This title was not for me. The voice of the character didn't resonate and the first person dialogue made it harder for me to engage with the characters.

Let me start off by thanking the author and publishers for a chance to read this amazing book!
Oh my word!! If I thought book one was full of romance, drama, and amazing characters… book two absolutely blew it out of the park!! Especially with the romance!! When I say I was swooning!!! I don’t want to say to much though as I don’t want to give spoilers! So all I’m gonna say if you’re looking for a Hades and Persephone story full of the most amazing romance, beautiful writing and characters that will keep you begging for more than this book is a must read!!

Book two in the series starts off where we left in book one. Persephone is in the Underworld. She is confused and Hades is MIA.
The Mistress and the Renowned is a modern retelling of the classic Hades and Persephone tale. This spicy story is a page turner that will have you staying up late to read "just one more page". I absolutely loved this book! The plot is solid, the chapters are quick due to the alternating point of view between Hades and Persephone. I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait for book three to be released. The character development makes book two a different read than book one but no less a great read.
If you enjoy Greek mythology and a lot of spice this is the I perfect book for you. Finally, I would like to thank NetGalley and Rose & Star Publishing for providing this ARC for my honest review.

Wow
I love Hades and Persephone retelling. I prefered this Book to the first one because it goes deeper into the characters. Is a very spicy books and I like it. also is very well written

Just like the first book, this was an easy read.
I am rating this a 3.5 ⭐️
What I appreciate about this the most is the authors’ own version of what happened with Hades and Poseidon once Zeus swallowed them and I really like the symbolism used in the flashbacks. I also like that some known gods were mentioned here and their roles are fitting all throughout the story.
Hades & persephone’s connection is really good and I love how they just always find each other no matter what. Their development is really nice and the inclusion of Poseidon and Zeus here is actually enjoyable.

After the cliffhanger of the previous book, I was expecting some real drama in this one, but it felt like a bit of a filler to get us to the big finale! I still enjoyed the characters and the links to Greek mythology, but it did feel like this installment could have been much shorter, or more eventful. The ending was gripping though and did the job - I'm eager for the next book!
