I loved this book a totally fascinating read. I already knew much of Arnolds bodybuilding and film career but was more vague on his political life. Arnold would undoubtedly make a fantastic President after reading this book he is not at all self serving and seems to want the best for the people he serves.....really refreshing in todays political landscape.
This book really is a revelation to a lot of the self help books around and is a great read.

Every now and then we all need a little pep talk – and who better to give us one than The Terminator himself. In this book, Arnie doesn’t mince his words: it’s time to stop procrastinating and get things done. And if you think there are any shortcuts or substitutions for hard work, you’re deluding yourself.
In each chapter he shares some of his own experiences as a professional body builder, actor and US governor, businessman and philanthropist as well as the lessons he learnt in the process.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s latest book, Be Useful, gets its title from his father’s words to him from his childhood.

It is a simple two-word phrase that is not an easy-to-follow rule in life unless one has clarity of thought and synchronised action on a continuous level to achieve success in life and beyond.

We know Arnold as a Mr World title winner, a bodybuilder, a Hollywood action hero, and his final avatar as a Californian governor.

However, the man has more to him, and he has literally worked his ass off with a clear plan and process to achieve these powerful positions, coming from a humble background in a small rural town in Austria to the US in 1968.

Of course, it is not a one-man show, as he puts it, and he thanks his friends, parents, mentors, fellow politicians, and the country of the USA for giving him the opportunity to showcase his talent at the beginning and then climbing the ladder to stardom through his sheer determination, hard work, and willpower to get to where he is at present.

But he is not done yet at the age of 76, with more in his kitty to offer his people and help his community to improve and make it big as he has done. He believes that if he can achieve it, so can anyone else.

In this narrative nonfiction, through his personal stories, he inspires his readers with seven-tool life rules one has to strictly follow to become a person of value, respect, and power, with no shortcuts whatsoever.

Arnold shares his poor upbringing by a disciplinarian police father and then his love for bodybuilding and how it motivated him to move to the United States in the late sixties, taking a plunge in Hollywood as an action hero with no godfather to help him navigate the film industry, struggling and winning on his own effort with a bit of luck, and his rise to be a successful and admirable politician in the biggest state in the country.

The book is written in simple language, with great inside stories and anecdotes that are well put out to readers’ liking in an engaging and encouraging manner that will definitely drive and push anyone an extra mile to realise one’s dream to fruition.

It is a must-read for every youngster who is in their initial stages of youth and has unchannelled energy with zero focus to put their mind in the rightful place to attain their goals.

This book has a few inspiring stories and some nuggets of wisdom, but it's pretty surface level. Basically his speeches in written form.

Be Useful by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Seven tools for life.
The world's greatest bodybuilder. The world's highest paid movie star. The leader of the world's sixth largest economy. That these are the same person sounds like the setup to a joke. But this is no joke. This is Arnold Schwarzenegger. And this did not happen by accident.
I have loved Arnold films since commando. I was happy to see he mentions these films aswell as twins working with Danny devito. Loved it. 5*.

When I requested this book, I was really happy and when I saw that I got accepted. I was absolutely thrilled, but unfortunately when I downloaded yeah well I thought I downloaded a NetGalley did not send it to my kindle, so when I realised I couldn’t re-download so now I can’t access this book so unfortunately I won’t be able to review this book and I’m kind of devastated.
