I received an eARC of this title through NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I thought this was a cute manga. It had the feel of Komi Can't Communicate, but less comedy more serious. The art was beautiful in the style you would expect from suu Morishita. Both characters are actually pushed out of their comfort zones to reach their own goals or get through difficult situations.

There is a romance element which drives the plot, but the characters growth throughout is interesting.

Thanks NetGalley and Viz Media for this arc!

3.5/5 stars

This was a cute slow paced romance. I liked the art. The storyline moves so slowly though I don't really feel like much happened

This just continues to be a sweet, slower paced, low-drama (though there is some bubbling up), high-school romance shojo. The characters are likable, the storyline realistic enough to not be ridiculous and the artwork is pretty. So far the pace is gentle and the budding romance is just TOO. SWEET.

I'm eating this up with a spoon! I highly recommend it if you like sweet to-the-point-of-but-not-crossing-the-line-of-tooth-decay.

Now, more drama is coming up on the horizon, so I'm hoping it is done with the same delicate touch the first two volumes have shown. I will definitely be reading the next volume to find out!

4, this is just the palette cleanse and break I needed, stars.

My thanks to NetGalley and VIZ Media LLC for an eARC copy of this book to read and review.

In this volume we get to see Suiren and Taichi go on a date to the fireworks festival! I love when manga has a festival story arc, it's one of my favorites. This was a cute volume and I liked that we got to see the main couple progress a little bit. Can't wait to read volume 3!

The dance between Suiren and Kawasumi continues. Suiren fights her shyness as summer approaches. She wants to spend time with Kawasumi, but needs the courage to express herself. Meanwhile Kawasumi is starting to notice Suiren and the small moments they spend together.

This is a slowly unfolding story of friendship and love. Both characters are growing towards each other. I can't wait to read the next volume.

Another solid addition the to the storyline. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

This volume picks off tight where we left, which is basically just glances at each other. I was so proud of Suiren this volume for making her intentions known and for continually trying to get her feelings across. Nothing is officially yet but they're already so adorable.

Can't wait to check out volume 3!

This series just has not been flowing well for me. I don't like the 2 dimension feel of the characters and how the story seems very repetitive. I feel like not much has happened over the course of the 2 volumes that have come out, a little bit has happened but not enough to keep me invested. I'm sure that there are people out there that are gonna love this series, but it's just not for me. This is a perfect example of how you can totally be obsessed with one piece of an author's work and not another. But by no means do I think she's a bad author and I'll pick up more of her work, just not this series.

I just reviewed #LikeaButterflyVol2 by suu Morishita. #NetGalley

Like a Butterfly isn't really breaking new ground, but it's a sweet series with charming art, and I find all the characters likable. If you like gentle, slow burns with your romance, a rival who may or may not actually be a rival, or just two people trying to understand each other without the pressures of dating (so far,) you might want to check this series out!

Another beautiful part of this manga series. The quality did not get worse, but it honestly wasn't better then the first. Starting to get a little annoyed at the two main characters and their *literal* lack of communication. But you can't help but cheer the main female character on as she finds her voice. Beautiful art work, and excited to read the next segment of the story.

Disclaimer: I was provided a free digital copy of this manga from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

There isn't a lot going on in this slice of life romance, but it really is adorable!! The main characters are so shy, much of the interactions are without words, which honestly makes it more cute and emotional.

4/5

Volume 2 of Like a Butterfly continues the story of Suiren and Kawasumi, two very awkward, very shy teenagers that have come to like each other. But they don’t realize the others’ feelings yet so most of their interactions involve shy, awkward silence. And yet.

This story is so cuuuuuute!! I love both the main characters. I can’t wait to see Suiren open up a bit more. I also loved the small view into Kawasumi’s perspective. I love Suiren’s character design. It must have been so fun to just create a super pretty character.

This story is a SLOOWWWW burn though. I like it that way because it adds to the plot. But I also can’t wait for more plot to happen. I don’t remember up til when did I read it the first time. I’ve definitely read vol 2 before but I’m not sure about volume 3, so I’m excited to read it!

The art continues to be good and I've gotten a new appreciation for the supporting characters in Like a Butterfly. Our lead pair continues to be mostly silent and awkward while orbiting around each other, but finally there's some development in the second volume. I think Ryocchi (Kawasumi's friend aka second male lead) is doing an awful lot of the heavy lifting with the non-internal dialogue. Second female lead (the sempai) is also doing her best to get things going (and continues to fail) in a wholesome manner that generates unintended comic relief.
