I am so pleased that I saved this for a gloomy October day as it was such a gripping and engaging read. Highly atmospheric, I found that the pages almost turned themselves as I had to find out about Maggie Blue and the mysterious surrounding her. I'm already looking forward to reading the next book to see what lies in store for Maggie and Hoagy the cat.

Have to be honest - it was the cover that caught my attention. What's on the inside lived up to it, so it's ok. Middle graders will love this. The heroine is reliable with her loneliness and different-ness, the fantasy is lovely, and the cat just so cool.

This is a strong story, heartbreaking and dark. It's a story with a fantasy side that deals with very serious topics like bullying.
There's a fabolous cat, a dark fantasy world and an excellent story.
I think that some scenes could be more developed but it's an excellent story that I liked.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine

This excellent book enticed me in with the beautiful cover but held me with the great storyline. It reminded me of Coraline in the way that there is a dark and sinister side to the story but very much holds its own as an independent tale. Strong but troubled female lead, magical animals, what more could you ask for ? Loved it.
