Jillian & Daniel are an unlikely couple that you can't help but root for. I don't think I've ever read a similar plot before, so yay for uniqueness, but I'm not sure I fully believe it. Yes, I do believe in ghosts and do want to be one one day, but I don't know, I'm mixed about this right now.

What in the ever loving with their first se*ual encounter? A bit odd to me because it can't be real, well duh because he's a ghost, so it's not, but yet it kind of gave off a realistic vibe, as well.
I did admire Jillian's tenacity in the 2nd part, but in turn she was clingy and stalkerish and I can't say I was fully in love with her. I'd like to know how she got the gig of a relationship expert when she has trouble talking to men, she's never really been in a relationship and is a virgin? I liked Daniel, both ghost and real, but I feel the story would have benefited with his POV. Also, he's a shirtless ghost so why is he wearing a shirt on the cover?

Overall, it had cute, sad, fun, heartbreaking, and just a few eye rolling moments.

Narration notes:
It was pretty long, but I was able to listen at 3x perfectly fine, so it didn't take up too much time. Sarah did a lovely job. Rob only narrated one chapter, so I don't have any complaints.

Series notes:
We will be getting Serena's story in February 2024.

Sarah Ready never fails to impress me. I thought the first half of this book was just okay and I could take it or leave it. Then we got to the second half and I couldn’t stop listening to the audiobook! The second half really sealed the deal for me and made this one a 4 star read.

This was just so good. I did not expect the ghost story. I just love love Jillian. I could just feel her anxiety. She had so much character growth in this book. Daniel is the hot cinnamon roll. The romance was so sweet and spicy! I loved the story and did not want to put the book down. The narrations was awesome! Thank you to NetGalley and W.W. Crown for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

This was so cute and funny. The universe of Sarah Ready's romance novels are filled with wild premises and true love.

It reminded me of The Dead Romantics, but less literary and more cute and alltogether more unique. I loved their relationship and the "twist" that allowed them to be together.

📖 🎧 Writing &/or Audio Style : generally speaking I found the writing style easy to read and get sucked into the story. Sarah Naughton, the narrator, is one I really enjoy (she did Trish Doller’s books) so that was great too. The only thing I noticed, and I can’t decide if this is a complaint or not, is the author uses VERY descriptive language. It sets a BEAUTIFUL scene, but it also means that it certain scenes felt SO long. In the last 20% when I was just dying to know how things were going to work themselves out I did not care about the tinkling chime of china.

👥 Characters & Relationships: LOVVVVEEEEEEE. I love Jillian, I love Daniel. I love the quirky cast of side characters.

⁉️Plot, Intrigue & Logic: This story was sooo fascinating to me, I had NO idea how it was going to work out, and being a girl who needs a happy ending I just kept saying “trust the process, trust the process”. Because of the plot this story almost felt like 2 books and in the second half while it did NOT drag, it simultaneously felt LONG.

🏞️Atmosphere & Setting: As mentioned above Sarah Ready sets 👏 the 👏 scene 👏. It’s possible I could smell the trash on the New York streets. In some parts of the story I was like OKAY ALREADY. But I still appreciate the way she transports you.

🥰Enjoyment: I LOVED this book. It reminded me of Seven Year Slip, which we know I was obsessed with while still being VERY different. If you listen via audio I’d say be prepared to raise a speed a bit in the second half (through no fault of the narrator) because you’ll be itching to find out how things will play out. Despite some of my impatience with the descriptiveness, I definitely recommend.

🚨 For Reader Awareness: Without saying the word there is talk of an off page “self unaliving”

4.5 stars. This is probably the cutest paranormal romance I've ever read. Jillian moves into a new apartment only to realize its already occupied by a shirtless, Romeo of a ghost named Daniel. Of course she falls in love with him but how will that work exactly? Leave it to physics and energy and all that other unbelievable sci-fi to make this dream come true for Jillian and Daniel. Adorable feel-good romance.

*Special thanks to NetGalley and W.W. Crown for this audio e-arc.*

This is my first read by Sarah Ready and I really enjoyed it! I am a huge fan of ghost stories and rom-coms and this was the perfect blend of both!

Jillian writes for a relationship and dating advice column but MAJORLY struggles to speak with men in real life. Ghost Daniel decides he is going to help her overcome her fear and hopefully find love!

This reminded me a lot of the movie, Just Like Heaven with Reese Witherspoon. I love that movie which is why I think I was initially drawn into this book so much but after some time the book takes on its own unique plot.

I loved Jillian’s nerdy vibes and Daniel’s thoughtful ways of pushing her outside of her comfort zone. There is so much quirky romance and make sure you hold out for that second epilogue!

I also really enjoyed the narration by Sarah Naughton and Rob Brinkman. This one will definitely get you into the fall spirit!

I really enjoyed this light ghost-mystery romance by Sarah Ready. Quirky, funny and romantic, put aside your expectations of reality and just enjoy the story! Thanks to #NetGalley for the chance to listen. #myeyespreferaudiobooks

I guess I am in the minority here, but I did not care for this one. It was so cheesy and I found myself cringing a lot. About halfway through the book I thought it was ending because I didn't really see where it could go. But bam, then Daniel is suddenly alive. And he's kind of a jerk. Jillian seems immature and just sheltered. I didn't love them individually and they seemed to fall in love way too easily.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book. I don’t know where to start. At first, I thought this was a retelling of Just Like Heaven with Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo. Luckily I hung in with it because boy was I WRONG. The love, the heartbreak, the literal breaking of my soul. I had a book hangover for days. I ugly cried and I am not one to cry over a book. I feel in love with the characters, their story. This book was everything!! I don’t normally buy books after I listen on audio but this one will be a first!

I want to thank NetGalley and W. W. Crown, Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) for the advanced readers copy of Ghosted.

This was my first paranormal romance and I was invested. The plot had me guessing the entire time of how the couple could have met.

I have to say this book is one that ends not the way you think it will.

The beginning was cute and fast paced, then around the middle of the book it became long. The ending kept up with the pace in the beginning and it was wrapped up in a bow.

Overall, this was one of the books that had me, gasping, screaming at the radio and I was so excited about how it ended.

Jillian writes a relationship & dating advice column, but is basically unable to talk to men in real life (including the hundreds of bad dates she’s been set-up on). This changes when a handsome ghost appears in her apartment, and decides to shake up her love life and work.
-I loved the concept. It reminded me of some other favourites: The Dead Romantics & Seven Year Slip (Ashley Poston) + Just Like Heaven (2005).
-Jillian is a big nerd, who loves Star Trek & Captain Kirk, so lots of fun little ST nuggets.
-this type of book being successful usually hinges on how they explain/theorize the magic/ghost bit (even if it’s essentially a “We don’t know”).
-the ghost bit was fun & different; the part after Daniel disappears - “ghosted” Jillian, if you will - changes gears & drags out a bit. I got a bit of second-hand cringe from Jillian’s “stalking” of alive-Daniel, but it fits with her socially awkward persona.
-second epilogue/alternate timeline was a great inclusion!
Overall, I enjoyed this book! The concept added some whimsy to the standard contemporary romance. I read it as an audiobook, and thought the narrators did a great job!

‘It’s my dad’s worst fear; there’s a pervert in my apartment and I’m nowhere near the aluminium bat.’

When Jillian moves into her new, creepily mirrored loft apartment in New York City, she is surprised to find she’s not alone. Daniel has seemingly come from nowhere and doesn’t really believe he’s dead. As Jilly faces yet another awful date, in a long line of awful dates, Daniel determines it is his mission to help her find her soulmate. And so begins Jilly and Daniel’s adventures in dating…but what if Jilly has already found her soulmate?

Honestly, Ghosted was really great fun. I had listened to another of Sarah Ready’s books earlier this year, and knew after a period of what I affectionately call ‘Sad Girl Reading’, Ghosted would be just the thing to pick me up. What I wasn’t expecting was Ready’s quite novel and clearly researched explanation for Daniel’s existence. Having read at least one other book where a cute ghost man shows up in a bedroom, I was expecting we might gloss over the more difficult to explain details, instead Ready faces them head on and gives a really interesting, scientific reason. Both Jillian and Daniel seem as much like real people as any romcom characters do, and they each have enough in the way of quirks and distinct personality traits that they’re not one note. You root for Jillian and Daniel, but there is more than one twist of fate which leaves you guessing…and therefore, engaged. There were a couple of points in the story where I felt like we were meandering a bit, but overall, things moved at a good pace. I would say Ghosted would be perfect for anyone who loves a romance, with moderate spice, and might be looking for a non-scary Halloween read this October.
Sarah Naughton’s narration was engaging, portraying all of the subtle (and not-so-subtle) changes in Jillian and Daniel.

This was so addictive! This story was simultaneously fun and very emotional.

There was a fair bit of instalove, which I normally don't like, but I enjoyed how Daniel and Jillian's story was handle.

Given the nature of the story (which I can't say much on without spoilers), there's definitely some plot holes, but this is one of those stories that you just have to go along for the ride and not think too much about the fantasy elements. Also, I personally felt that the second epilogue really helped tie the whole book together, and I'm so happy it was included.

Sarah Ready never disappoints. Another great one. She's had so many well written, interesting books released this year. This book slayed me. It had so many feels. First, the audiobook narrators did an awesome job making this book come to life. This book was very well written and drew me in from beginning to end. Just when I wasn't sure where things were going, the author dropped a bomb and the story took a new direction bringing along more conflict and wonder. Jillian had some interesting quirks making her a very special heroine. Her past is haunts her every day making her shy and incapable of talking to men. Daniel is a ghost that shows up in her new apartment. So much wonderful conflict here and character growth. I just couldn't get enough. I finished this book last week, and I'm still thinking about these characters. I highly recommend this book for a wonderful, satisfying read. Huge thanks to Netgalley and the audiobook publisher for allowing me to read and review this book.

A paranormal romancé for fans of The Dead Romantics book and Just Like Heaven movie; Ghosted brings together alive Jillian with ghost Daniel when he suddenly pops up in her new apartment. Not knowing how they’re connected, they decide Daniel must be there for some unfinished business: to help shy, quiet, and unable-to-talk-to-men Jillian become more confident and find a partner.

Then as quick as he came, the ghost of Daniel is gone. Was their business done? Or was it just changing forms?

This book made me laugh, cheesy smile, gripped my heart, then ripped it out…and put it back together again. I loved these characters individually and really rooted for them to figure out how to be together.

I listened to the audio of this book and enjoyed it. I also appreciated the second epilogue, but man did it make my head reel.

After reading Ghosted and The Space Between recently, Sarah Ready has become one of my new favorite authors.

I had to DNF this one. I am a huge Sarah Ready fan but this wasn't for me. I loved the cover too. The book was just unbelievable/ridiculous and the timing of things were just off. The timeline of stuff seemed super quick. I hate that I didn't enjoy it. I stopped at 60% and just couldn't go on. I was doing a buddy read so she filled me in on the rest. I will continue to snag up all of Sarah's books. This was a miss for me.

First of all, I have to say that I truly enjoyed this book. It was so incredibly fun, and I was invested right from the start.

Having said that in a book with a possible time traveling dimension hopping ghost, the one thing I found unbelievable was that the former Miss Ohio is a Yankee fan. You don't just leave Ohio, move to New York, and suddenly decide the Yankees are your favorite baseball team. I refuse to believe that.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I was totally engrossed in Jillian and Daniel's love story. I couldn't wait to see how it all worked out.

This book was sweet, emotional, and completely swoon worthy! I adored the narrators, they were perfect.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Wow, you guys!! Not often does a romance novel keep me guessing to the very end like Ghosted did!! 😯💗

Jillian Nejat is down on love, money, and her journalism career is in shambles. She rents a cheap studio in NYC. The place comes with mirrors everywhere, rumor to be a former sex den, and with it, a very hot shirtless ghost!

But maybe that's not so bad because Jillian is struggling with writing a relationship advice column when she doesn't talk to men or date. Daniel, the ghost who doesn't remember his past life can help her and perhaps he can then move on.

I love the main characters as well as the supporting ones. Especially Fran who never gives up and often sets Jillian up on blind dates. The chemistry and connection between the MCs are more than perfect!

On a deeper level Ghosted explores grief and forgiveness.

Ghosted is charming with endearing characters, and I love the Star Trek references throughout. 🖖🥰 Sarah Ready is extremely gifted and her writing keeps me glued the whole time through this (kinda) very long novel (457 pages on Kindle). Yes, you may need to recharge your earbuds for this audiobook. But I was in for the ride, how will this story have a happily ever after when one is already dead? I love the epilogues. Yes, there are TWO! 4.5⭐

The narrators Sarah Naughton and Rob Brinkman are excellent!

TW: Off-page bullying, suicide
